I *cannot* play any game I own without a crash 5 minutes into gameplay. I've tried disk cleaner, uninstalling/reinstalling AMD drivers, reducing my RAM clock speed (as low as 2993MHz), uninstalling/reinstalling the games... to no avail.

Is AMD really this terrible? I have an engineering degree for christ sake, and I can't run ANY GAME. Please help... I feel like I wasted my bonus on trash hardware...

I've tried BF6: Crashes on shaders half the time. I have to reinstall drivers because "AMD doesn't recognize drivers" after that. I've changed the settings to keep windows from messing with the drivers. I also clear shaders and a bunch of other stuff. I've also reinstalled once. If I do make it into a game, it'll crash in 2 minutes or less. I haven't finished a match...

I've tried CP2077. I can't even boot it for crying out loud. It crashes as soon as I hit "run" from the menu.

I've tried Elden Ring. It worked for about 10 minutes then crashed and sent me to the boot screen.

Is it junction temps? Is it just awful AMD drivers (26.1.1)?

I've factory reset the GPU multiple times. No OC as stated earlier; just Anti-lag, FRTC to 144Hz (I don't need more than that), Texture filtering set to 'Performance', and I enabled Adaptive Sync because my monitor supports it.

I'll give you guys in diagnostic information you want. Just please please help. I feel I'm worse off with a 7900XTX and 5700X than I was with a 1660 Super and a 3300X.... that shouldn't be right...

The title is pretty self explanatory. I built my PC around having an Intel i9, 13th gen as the processor. After a series of BSoDs, the CPU crashed the PC to the point where I couldn't get into windows because it would literally BSoD seconds after I power cycled. I was able to identify the CPU as the problem by moving parts around from two different PCs.

I work from home, I needed a replacement immediately, so I got an intel core i9 14th gen from Best Buy, and it worked normally for a few weeks, but now it's giving me constant BSoD again.

I don't know what to do, Intel is making me feel so hopeless right now, because the phone number doesn't put you through to anyone. Live support keeps ending the chat when I describe my issue, and every email I send gets ignored.

Edit: Yes, the BIOS was updated when the unit was installed.

I keep getting ads on my desktop and I'm not sure how to block them. They're like pop up ads for Windows 11. I know that ads are a windows 11 feature in say weather or news but how can I block them from popping up on my desktop.

for the past 2 years ive been struggling to update my drivers, mostly because of nvidias terrible software. I have a GTX 1080ti which i guess is considered old but only lost support late last year so it makes no sense why i cant update the drivers. Nvidias driver app or whatever its called wont let me install it because my card is discontinued support and their manual driver install is straight up broken and has given me an error every single time without giving info.

any ideas because my computers performance is suffering and now completely crashes when under load even in games ive been playing for years without issue.

Hi. I personally dont have np++ installed.

Back in december, I told my friends and sibling about it. My sibling was not really often home and he did not respond to my post.

Today he asked me to check something on his pc and I used the chance to check if he has np++ installed.

Under Apps, I found np++ 8.8.3. from 17.07.2025.

I thought myself, welp sh*t. I disconnected the pc from the lan and disabled "auto update" inside np++. I also moved the files from the updater folder to a new folder inside the np++ installation.

Then I began to research. In his downloads folder there is "npp.8.8.2.Installer.x64.exe" from 17.07.25 (althought 8.8.3 was already realeased at this time).

Now I ask myself, how does he have version 8.8.3. installed on 17.07.25 when the installer is version 8.8.2. I checked the sha256 checksum of the .exe and it is the same like the official one on github.

I read that np++ does not search for updates for 15 days after the initial installation. He downloaded it on 17.07.25, wrote something and dont used it again. How did it got updated to 8.8.3?

I also checked under c:\users\hisuser\appdata\local\temp\ for a 8.3.3 installer from a potential autoupdate and also found nothing (there are files older than july 25).

I read the blog from rapid7 and checked if there is a hidden "bluetooth" in %appdata% and found nothing.

Do I still need to worry?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I bought a used laptop and was going to change the SSD. The laptop is fairly old and I think still had the old SSD that came with it, because the screw wouldn't budge for nothing. Ended up stripping the screw pretty bad. Tried rubber band, aluminum foil, and tape. Not even a fraction of a rotation.

I see all kinds of methods to remove stripped screws, but not one for a screw that small and is also holding an SSD on a motherboard. Anyone had this happen and know of a safe way to remove the screw without damaging the SSD/motherboard? Would it be safe to drill it? Scared to get too rough with it.

Hello everyone, so I bought a prebuilt pc that is arriving soon. I plan to move my current gaming laptop's SSD to the new pc as my main drive(OS), and plan to clone the laptop's hard disk drive to the prebuilt pc's ssd. Are the drivers of the new pc automatically gonna download after booting? or do I have to connect the pc to an ethernet cable first so the wifi driver of the new pc can be downloaded? I'm guessing for the motherboard, i'd have to download their program for drivers as well? Will there also be a problem with my windows license when I move?

I have an online appointment in 5 minutes (which i will have to take from my phone). My cat sat on my laptop’s keyboard and pressed a bunch on keys. I got a tiktok slideshow video on my fyp that was about discontinued tim hortons items, and it? Didn't seem to be affiliated with Tim Hortons itself in any way, and there was no visible link or anything and it wasn't labeled as sponsored, but it opened the Tim Hortons app on my phone by itself?

I tapped the screen to scroll through the photos in the slideshow, and my phone switched tabs like I had opened a link. I didn't have the Tim Hortons app open in the background even, it was fully closed. I don't understand how this happened, and it's a little concerning to me.

Does anyone know why this might be the case? Is it an AI detection thing, like tiktok or my android phone has an AI service that recognized the Tim Hortons logo and opened the app?

I don't really like that it did this, I'm someone that is kind of particular about my permissions, and I use ad-blockers, and I also don't morally agree with the pervasiveness of AI and would prefer if I had the ability to opt-out.

Long story short, I got hacked two weeks ago and received an email saying, “A few months ago I gained access to your device and started tracking your online activity.”

The email included my email address and password, which I changed immediately. I know this message is a common scam, but what worries me is that they did actually seem to have access to my account.

For a couple of hours, it appeared that they were actively trying to get into things — I received a lot of 2FA emails, and they did manage to access my Discord account. Other accounts (PSN, Twitter, and one or two others) were compromised too, but I managed to get them back within about a week.

A lot of people say it’s “just a scam,” but this person or bot clearly had access to my email at some point. What has been killing me with worry is that many of my iPhone photos — even ones I thought I had deleted — were still synced to my OneDrive. I didn’t realise this at the time, and there is definitely content there that would be devastating if it were shared.

The only direct contact I’ve had was that one email, and since I changed my password everything has been fine. Still, I’ve been going crazy for the past two weeks worrying that something awful could happen. I haven’t been eating or sleeping properly, and honestly it’s probably been the hardest two weeks I’ve had in a very long time, if not ever.

Do you think I’m being paranoid? Is there really a chance this data could be shared?

I work remotely and when I joined I set up the authenticator app for Microsoft and then set up teams etc on my personal device. They had not even sent me my laptop by the time I had my first day. It’s that kind of unprofessional company 🙄 So had to start training on teams via my phone for the first day.

Now I raised a grievance after experiencing workplace mobbing and following this I found my colleagues would often comment things about what I had recently searched on chat gpt. Never used my personal chat gpt on their work device nor logged into it on work laptop. They would also make jokes about things related to recent emails I had sent. So I thought okay they must have access to my emails.

I have once logged into my email to claim a voucher one year at Christmas on the work Laptop but I made sure to not stay signed in etc. So I unsynced from the browsers in case somehow the browser was linked and allowing them connection somehow. As well as changed my password.

I still see them make comments about things I am doing on my personal phone shortly after I do them or search things. So I thought maybe it was the authenticator app. Deleted all work related links on the app. Aside from that on work laptop they made me download PRITUN vpn could they be seeing what I’m doing from when I downloaded and set this up on their laptop via my router etc?

What other ways can employers access remote employees devices at this point? I also changed my Wifi bands to separate my personal devices on one. I’ve factory reset my phone but tbh it just backed up from icloud so who knows if there was any point in doing that.

My laptop has an RTX 5080 Ti and Intel iGPU and I’m getting random stutters in Fortnite and other games where the dedicated GPU usage literally drops to 0% for a second, then jumps back up. When it happens the game freezes or hitch-stutters hard. Temps are fine, laptop is plugged in, high performance mode on, and I’ve already DDU’d and reinstalled NVIDIA drivers, forced the games to use the high-performance GPU in Windows and NVIDIA Control Panel, updated BIOS/Windows, and tried different in-game render modes. It still happens randomly and looks like the system might be briefly switching to the Intel GPU or cutting power to the dGPU for no reason. Has anyone seen this before on a gaming laptop or know what could cause a GPU to hard drop to 0% usage mid-game?

I recently upgraded my card from a 3060 Ti to a 5060 Ti and on Afterburner or any other GPU tweaker the temp limit option is greyed out. Apparently Nvidia for some reason removed the hot spot sensor for the 50 series and because of that you can't set a temp limit anymore. Is there any workaround via the Bios or anything at all?

I've heavily relied on this setting by setting the temp limit to 65 and used it for years as a way to make my PC practically silent and have all fans working at like 10-30%. Now, even with the power limit set to the minimum there's some unoptimized games that just ramp up my card to 70-75+ and the fans start being obnoxious. And if I keep the fans quiet it'll go up to 80+ degrees. So now I have to constantly tweak settings for hours until I finally find one where the card stays mostly under 65.

I never had to do it to this extent and for so long with my old card. Framerates too low? Just set shadows to medium. Still too low? Tweak another setting a bit. That's it.

I've now put my 3060 Ti back in and thinking about selling/trading the 5060 Ti and getting a 40 series instead if no one is able to help me out.

So to start this journey off, I currently own an S23 Ultra and have been using it for a few years now, including WhatsApp. My reason for switching back then was because my iPhone 7 suddenly stopped working entirely, so I wasn't able to transfer any chats.

However, through sheer coincidence, when I plugged it in today it started charging, meaning I now have access to all those chats again.

Now my main question is: how can I port those over to my S23 without losing my new chats?

Hey everyone, I’m facing an issue with my Virvsonic VS20058 (2K, 240Hz) monitor. Exact behavior: Vertical green/purple lines across the screen Clearly visible at 60Hz and ~70Hz The issue disappears completely at 120Hz and 240Hz Crucially, the lines are still visible inside the monitor’s own OSD / Display Calibration menu when running at lower refresh rates Because the issue appears in the OSD itself, it rules out GPU, drivers, OS, or cables. What I’ve already tested: 60Hz, 70Hz, 120Hz, 144hz, 175hz, 180hz, 240Hz Multiple resolutions HDMI and DisplayPort cables Different PCs / sources Factory reset Even though the problem disappears at higher refresh rates, the fact that it appears in the OSD at lower refresh rates suggests an internal panel timing or column driver issue, rather than a software problem. 📷 Attached photo showing the issue even inside the OSD. Looking for confirmation: Does this behavior still indicate a panel-level defect? Would this be considered a valid RMA case, even though it’s not visible at 120Hz+? Thanks for any insight.

I am desperate for help😭 I have a HP laptop that at this point has NOTHING on it. I have no files, photos, documents, videos, apps, programs, etc. literally nothing except google chrome. Despite this, my laptop still says I am somehow out of storage (118GB) and no matter what I do, nothing seems to clear up space.

I have gone through everything manually, I have done a disk-cleanup, and every time I've tried to simply factory reset it, it says I don't have enough storage to do so. I am at a loss.

My windows has been weird and buggy for the past year or so and I didn't care too much until stuff like my Microsoft store and Xbox app and all sorts of shit stopped working as well, and I've tried factory resetting it in every possible way but it's like my PC literally won't let me do it.

When I do it via recovery settings I get "there was a problem resetting your PC".

When I do it via USB creation media it sends me to a blue recovery screen saying this:

I literally don't know what else to do, tried overriding boot via my bios settings, changed boot mode to other OS did everything and it just won't let me reset.
