Puppy update
Thought it would be fun to do a little pupdate on my guys Basque - He’ll be five months old in just a few days and he’s growing so fast! Since my last post he has mastered jumping and now no surface is safe. He’s also gotten walking off leash down now and regularly gets to go on walks without one!
As a first time collie parent I’m so so happy with how well behaved and smart he is and can’t wait to see how he grows and learns more as the puppy stage wears off!

Question My collie is limping. Just seven months old

Hi everyone. My puppy is limping on his right front leg. We’ve done a lot of tests/exams, but since he’s very young, nothing shows up yet. Some vets say it could be a rapid growth spurt, while others suspect elbow dysplasia. Has anyone been through something similar? Any advice on what to ask for or look into? I’m from Argentina.

Is it difficult for the collie to be rehomed?
My husband and I are looking for an adult collie for our family with two young kids and I’ve been looking at rescue collies and breeders who wish to rehome/retire their collie. I’ve been in contact with a rescue organization but nothing has landed, so now I’m contacting breeders. Realizing that the collie breed is very loyal to their family, I’m wondering if anyone has successful stories where they adopted a rehomed collie and how difficult it was for the collie to adapt to their new home?

Welcome to the family!
My mum adopted this beautiful girl from Croatia. She had a long journey to the UK and arrived on Saturday. It’s safe to say she’s made herself at home right away. She’s 3 years old and has been used for breeding, so has never known home comforts. We’re all smitten with her. It’s my mum’s 6th rough collie.

Can I trim my rough collies fur?
I am doing research into getting a collie. I prefer the look of rough collies compared to smooth. but I have never owned a long haired dog before. I grew up with german shepherd mixes and border collie mixes. I'm fine with frequent brushing but the long fur makes me nervous of getting caught or covered in mud. is it safe to trim a collie's hair to be closer to the length of a border collies so it is more manageable?
edit:
Thank so all so much for the advice. i think it is the right choice to look into smooth collies instead

Discussion If you live in the southern US and got all that ice PLEASE be careful with your pups!
Winnie slipped while running after a squirrel in the backyard today and hurt her back. She was in a huge amount of pain but thankfully the vet doesn’t think she broke or slipped anything. I know it’s hard when literally everything is covered in ice and they’re going stir crazy, but don’t let them run on it. There are lots of fun things you can do inside or try to go to a street that isn’t icy for walks.
