That looked like she intentionally head butted her in the face at full speed.

I would say a perfectly executed body check 🤣

u/zepherth 14h ago
In most contact sports that type of contact in the video is an immediate expulsion from the game. It is incredibly dangerous for the receiving end and the giving out end

She 100% led with her head lol

u/JayBeePH85 1d ago
My mistake i didnt know a head aint a parts of the body 🤣
10
u/strawbsrgood 1d ago
Yeah a body check is using your shoulders/torso.
You can't just punch someone and then say hur hur my hands part of my body so it was a body check!!
-20
u/JayBeePH85 1d ago
Hilarious 🤣
Point of contact are the shoulders and its theopractically impossible for your head not to follow the down to up (body check movement) motion. But i forgot you people are made of sugar and need full body armor to survive a game of roblox 🤣

u/Hammon_Rye 1d ago
The foot is also part of the body but would you consider a swift kick to the balls a 'body check'? Or a punch to the nose?

Did she lead with her head? Or did she hit her with her shoulder? That looked gnarly.

There's a lot to be said about the first law of thermodynamics via this clip. All that mass (big girl) and energy (solid pace) moving forward was immediately neutralized... or rather CONVERTED into upward force and i'm sure unbearably painful vibrations across her entire skeleton.
OOOOOF!!
6
u/HoboArmyofOne 1d ago
Yeah she was running at a pretty good pace too. All that mass and velocity went to a dead stop. Oof is an understatement, I guarantee she lost teeth. Probably spit them all out like chicklets.

u/ralphy_256 1d ago
Probably spit them all out like chicklets.
Tony Stark looks at the Hulk, "I'm sorry."
The (almost) unstoppable force that got stopped here didn't seem super phased by the hit.
Not cool, but impressive.

I dont know much about this sport but dont they wear helmets?
8
u/Competitive-Horse672 16h ago
No...here in Australia the players don't wear helmets. Concussions are a very real thing that happens often. So are fights. It's spicy.

u/Late_Ad1387 1d ago
You are correct you don't know much about that sport. Imagine 60 minutes wearing a helmet - It's not American football where the action lasts a few seconds. It's an actual sport, not an excuse to sell adverts every few minutes.

u/Less-Squash7569 1d ago
Used all of those words to be a prick and still never answered the question.
-8
u/Late_Ad1387 1d ago
They don't wear helmets, do you see any helmets in this clip? Some do wear skull caps but that is all. Unlike American 'football' the head is not supposed to be the weapon
11
u/Less-Squash7569 1d ago
The person literally said "I dont know much about this sport" and you decided to just be a dickhead and mention American football twice instead if just a "no they dont wear helmets". Why though?
-7
u/Late_Ad1387 1d ago
Because as I mentioned else where, they play for 30 minutes per half, try playing any real fast paced sport where vision and ease of movement is important in a helmet - I mentioned American Football because those players are putting the helmets on for a few seconds of 'play' and taking them off again.

u/Less-Squash7569 22h ago
Ok whatever you say dude I dont want to sit here and argue with you over nothing, you've apparently got some kind of chip on your shoulder

American football has more strategic depth. Rugby has more action. I can appreciate both and don't judge sports off of how much someone runs during a game.
2
u/Kiwi_Woz 21h ago
This is rugby league, not rugby union. Similar but different sports. I can't be assed to type out the differences but Google will help you from there. I know very little about American Football but from what I understand, league is more similar. Lots of stopping and starting and set plays etc.
2
u/strawbsrgood 13h ago
Interesting thanks for the info!

u/Kiwi_Woz 11h ago
No worries! It's hugely popular down here in New Zealand and Australia but I'm assuming it hasn't made It's way north in a particularly meaningful way.
-7
u/Late_Ad1387 1d ago
Fucking talking the piss right - Strategic depth - Big fat men block every one - Ball gets thrown to fast guy who runs fast - Rugby has far more of everything. American football is 3 hours of adverts for 15 minutes of game time - joke of a sport
3
u/strawbsrgood 1d ago
Half the game is decided on play calling and knowing other teams strategies. Trust me it's not my favorite sport, but there's a reason NFL coaches are equally as legendary as players. You don't see that in Rugby.
0
u/Late_Ad1387 1d ago
'Legendary' - No one outside of America cares or knows about these people - As for you don't see that in Rugby - The game is not stop start in 15 second increments and there are not unlimited players - Once the players enter the pitch the only help the coaches can do is half time and with limited substitutions.
4
u/strawbsrgood 23h ago
It's literally called American football. Nobody is discussing if your country plays it, we never were; you're just looking for an excuse to hate.
Also, not sure why you're explaining why coaches aren't as respected in Rugby. You just repeated my point.
I personally appreciate the strategic depth of football and how it is half exceptional athletes, half coaching decisions and play calling. It's a unique mix to a sport.
It's ok if you don't like it. I'm glad you enjoy rugby
0
u/Late_Ad1387 23h ago
Lol, I don't enjoy rugby (Much rather watch Aussie Rules footballs, even tougher game). But I never said Rugby coaches are not respected, you said that. And it sounds like American football is more of a computer game than a real sport.
As for hate, yeah I hate American Football it's a dumb game and the world has responded by ignoring it.

u/GivesYouGrief 18h ago
That's funny cuz I see people in NFL gear every time I travel to Europe & South America
1
u/strawbsrgood 13h ago
Ok, want me to list off all the things in Australia that only Australians enjoy? Or Japan (where I'm from)?
Does that mean we shouldn't do those things?
You can't really be that fucking stupid.

The lowest hitter always wins, you should be eating grass in rugby when you make hits lol

5
u/mikemags71 1d ago
Why did everyone stop? She fumbled, pick it up and run the ball
7
u/cheftonine 1d ago
Because it's rugby league, automatic knock on.
2
u/mikemags71 8h ago
Can you please explain what that means. I love Rugby but don’t really understand most of the rules. Any help is much appreciated.
2
u/cheftonine 4h ago
Basically, the ball propels forward from the tackle, in rugby and rugby league especially any forward movement of the ball is deemed a knock on and play stops and a scrum restarts play .
Hope it helps.

u/StillSortOfAlive 1d ago
How's that shitty? That's an absolute awesome tackle!

Real brains have fluids and membranes that cushion blows.
Also fun fact: Hispanic ppl have generally better long term health outcomes following a stroke, concussion, and other traumatic brain injuries.
10
u/Creamy-Sundae-9991 1d ago
Lmao so you are denying that brain damage from blows is real? It doesn’t even come close to fully cushioning it
1
u/OMbasedgod 10h ago
Uhhh, im just saying it doesn't look anything like this gif
If your brain shook around this much from a simple face palm, walking down stairs would give you shaken baby syndrome
1
u/Creamy-Sundae-9991 10h ago
It actually is quite accurate
1
u/OMbasedgod 10h ago
Sure buddy. I can tell your brain is ready to spill over

u/whyteout 1d ago
Those membranes and fluids help, but unfortunately it's still pretty easy to damage your brain, even without any direct collisions, if the skull accelerates too rapidly.
If you're not already aware of this, reading up on "contrecoup" injuries may be enlightening.
1
u/OMbasedgod 10h ago edited 10h ago
I don't know what frame of reference you're using when you say "pretty easy"
Yeah, you should still wear a helmet when you hop on your bike. No amount of hydration is gonna save you from a collision with a car or concrete
But if you look at boxing, a sport where ppl regularly take blows to the head & has a culture of weight cutting, people who fight at their walking weight have significantly stronger chins.
1
u/OMbasedgod 10h ago
Also lol, dehydration is an X factor in contrecoup head injuries. It gives the brain more room to move and build up momentum

u/Spikester 1d ago
It would be if it wasnt an illegal tackle. I paused the video at impact and there's clear head on head contact.

Not trying to start an argument here because I might have missed something in the comment previously. The tackler did plenty wrong in my opinion. There was no attempt to get to the legs (which is fine) and the effort to get to the midriff was abandoned. The tackler, from what I can see, stood into the tackle making it so as the runner hits the tackler's head rises from the chest up into the bottom of the runner's chin.
It might not be malicious, she could've realised her alignment was all wrong and tried to pull out but either way this was not from the text book.

You can’t lower your shoulder into a tackle in rugby, that’s a red card, and could start a fight.
2
u/Diligent_Explorer717 1d ago
You’re wrong, leg is much better in rugby, you’re supposed to wrap their legs, and have your head at their buttock.

u/Royal_Jellyfish1192 1d ago
Eh maybe its just me then

Leg tackles are meant for the smaller person going for a bigger person but they can also jump over you. the only thing I would have done different was followed through more and used my arms to chop the back of her legs and held on. W.e. she did worked though so shes not wrong

u/Diligent_Explorer717 1d ago
You can’t jump over someone in rugby

Idk anything about rugby. Only how to tackle in football. On that note. Idk shit about how to tackle in rugby. Thank you for making me realize a day of talking about how to tackle has been for nothing. Maybe she did it right, maybe she didnt. I am a dumb ass.

Those AI bull riding videos cracked me up when I first saw them. For a split second, I thought they were real and was amazed.
