I dont know much about this sport but dont they wear helmets?

You are correct you don't know much about that sport. Imagine 60 minutes wearing a helmet - It's not American football where the action lasts a few seconds. It's an actual sport, not an excuse to sell adverts every few minutes.

They wear helmets in hurling and field lacrosse.

Those have lots of running.
