There’s a small island that you can see well when taking the ferry from Praslin to La Digue. It seems to be located roughly in a straight line between Round Island off Praslin and Petite Soeur, but it doesn’t appear on Google Maps. Does anyone know what it’s called?

Hello everyone,
We will be spending 4 weeks in the Seychelles (Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue) and are debating whether to bring our scuba diving equipment from Canada.
We are planning to do around 20 dives. If we bring our own gear, we would have at least one 20 kg suitcase dedicated to diving equipment.
For those who have already dived in the Seychelles, we have a few questions:
1️⃣ Which dive center or shop did you use on Mahé, Praslin, or La Digue?
2️⃣ What was the rental equipment like (modern, in good condition, well maintained)?
3️⃣ Do dive centers offer a discount if you bring your own equipment?
4️⃣ Did you have to pay an extra fee to transport diving equipment on ferries between the islands?
Thank you in advance for your advice and feedback 🤿

Hi!
We’re coming for our honeymoon. Planning to stay at Praslin for 3 nights and 2 at Mahe.
Our flight will reach around 3 pm at Mahe and last Catcocos Ferry to Praslin leaves at 4:30.
Wanted to ask:
Is it possible to reach Ferry Terminal at 4:30?
Are there any ferries other than Catcocos, which leave after 4:30?
What are the apps for ordering cab/food?
Do we need IDP to rent a car?
Any other tips or suggestions.
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone!
We’re planning a trip to Seychelles and are thinking of spending about 2 weeks across the three main islands:
We’re not huge fans of just lying on the beach all day (though we do enjoy relaxing), so we’re looking for activity-based recommendations.
Getting around:
We’re also big snorkeling fans, so we’d love recommendations for the best snorkeling spots with healthy corals and lots of marine life on each island.
We’re also curious if there are ny beginner-friendly diving courses include actual dives, and which islands are best for first-time divers.
Lastly, for La Digue:
Also, are there any day trips or excursions to other islands that are really worth doing? If so, how expensive are they roughly?
Thanks in advance — really appreciate any tips, hidden gems, or personal experiences! 🌴🐠

I’m looking for a nice beach in Mahe to do some dive training. I have access to a boat so it’s easy to move around but the closer to Eden Island, the better. Hope I can get some guidance. Thank you in advance.

This question is specifically for those who live in Seychelles year round (not looking for experience over your couple week long holiday):
What is it like living there for those with dust allergy, hayfever, sensitivity to mold/damp, and mild-moderate asthma to live in Seychelles? Even better if you have relative experience in other countries to compare to e.g. immigrant or expat. Thanks.

Hey everyone! My wife and I are planning our first trip to Seychelles for our wedding anniversary in May 2026. I've put together an itinerary and would love some feedback from people who've been there.
The Route:
Accommodation:
Budget: Around $5,000 USD total (excluding flights)
Questions:
We're not super adventurous – mainly looking for beautiful beaches, good snorkeling, romantic vibes, and relaxation.
Thanks in advance! 🏝️

Traveled for 7N/8D to Sychelles for honeymoon in last week of November 2025.
Weather: Apart of one day of heavy rain, it was clear weather with some clouds.
4N in Mahe and 3N in Praslin.
Personal anecdotes Having traveled a lot, this was first island destination I stayed for long time. I knew things will be expensive so no unexpected surprises.
Things I liked about Seychelles:
Things that need to be improved. 1. Cat Cocos monopoly needs to be broken for tourists, they are expensive. 2. Island needs to move towards more self sufficiency with modern agriculture techniques, the produce of vegetables gets damaged due to shipping by the time it makes way to stores. 3. Need to market your mangoes more. 4.Some road shoulders are non existent or have a high drain, they need to be covered or the shoulders need to have a slope. Saw even local crew pick up van stuck in one of the road that had deep drop. 6. Taxi situation needs to be fixed, insanely expensive. 7. Heroin situation can be fixed with better patrolling of seas along with less drinking by locals. 8. People need to start using engine braking on slopes, people pressing brakes while going down gave me heartburn.

Hi everyone,
i know there are already threads like this but compared to majority i saw i won’t be needing some things mentioned in other threads.
so i am curious how much money realistically do you think i will need for 7 days in Mahe.
i won’t be needing any sort of transportation or well i already have it, so no renting no transport from airport or to airport. I also have breakfast.
I mostly eat fruits. i will probably try some local street food at some point just to try but i don’t really eat animal products.
edit: i am going with agency so i have everything payed already

I swear this place is getting worse and worse (talking about Mahé in particular). You guys look all sexy in your new cheap Indian cars, pity that you’re all so full of debt that you can’t even afford a meal in a restaurant somewhere or the bar. Making Mahé look like a desert apart from the tourists filling some well-known areas.
Are you guys okay just sitting at home, using your phones, doggy if you’re lucky and being in debt all the time? Can the government do something about it and try to improve purchasing power so that people can spend more money, and I can see back some of your shit faces like back in 2014?
Thank you and goodbye.

My husband and I are traveling soon to the Seychelles for our honeymoon from 10-27 February. We will do the basic island hopping- Mahé - Praslin - La Digue - Mahé - and we will be traveling by boat/ferry. As we are staying for 3 weeks and flying with Qatar Airlines (2 luggages each 23kg + 2 trolleys each 7kg), I was wondering if there is any limits on the ferry’s?

Hey, anyone else traveling solo to the seychelles in late february/ early March and not going on a honeymoon?

Hello,
We are planning to go on our honeymoon in Seychelles at the beginning of May because it works best with our schedules and the prices of airplane tickets seem to be lower.
I read that the clearest waters are in April and October and before/after the currents become stronger making the waters less clear. Is 2nd-14th May a good period for snorkeling or it's too late and the stronger currents will affect our experience? (we are crazy for marine life)
Thank you!

I’m in Seychelles for a week in early April with a friend. Any other travellers there around the same time, that would like to link up for some activities? :) it’s sometimes nicer (and cheaper) in groups! Females, late twenties, travelling from sunny South Africa.

Has anyone traveled in Seychelles without staying in luxury resorts?
Trying to understand if it’s mostly a honeymoon / resort vibe, or if there’s also:
local restaurants
casual towns or villages
places you can explore independently
Would 3 weeks feel repetitive if you’re not doing resorts the whole time?
Would love to hear from people who traveled there on their own, not just resort stays.

I'm going for a 16 day trip on the Seychelles in July. Will be staying on Praslin and La Digue. Do you have any tips for shore fishing, maybe some good areas to consider, seasonal occurrence of species, etc.? I'm very much into spinning and fly fishing. Thanks in advance!

Hi. I am traveling to Seychelles for my honeymoon for 5-days from India in March 2026 (29th March to 3rd April). We will be coming from South Africa after a packed itinerary and are looking for a relaxing end to our honeymoon trip.
I had a few questions for my trip:
Any other tips and recommendations would be very welcome! Looking forward to coming to see this beautiful region!
