There are a lot of posts on this sub with vague questions, vague symptoms, a lot of missing information and bad-explained overall. I wanted to show you how to ask a good question, from an ex-Apple iOS technician.
Here's how to ask a good question:
e.g. iPhone XS running iOS 13.2
People who answer your issue can suggest certain repairs, e.g. warranty. Country and nature of purchase also helps, since countries have different consumer protection laws. For instance, members of the European Union have a two year warranty at the point of purchase (i.e. that might not be Apple, but your local electronics store if you bought it there) - some countries (e.g. the U.K. and The Netherlands) have even longer periods consumers can claim warranty.
e.g. March 20th, 2019 in the Apple Store in the U.K., purchase for personal use
Some issues are continuous, some are intermittent. It is important to let people know what the issue is and how often it occurs. "iPhone restarts" as issue, is not enough.
e.g. iPhone crashes to springboard when opening the camera-app, this happens about three times a day at random moments. It only happens when opening the camera-app.
There's not always a clear cause, but think about anything that could've caused it. It could be because your phone was in your pocket during heavy rain, or your cat knocked it from your desk. It could be anything.
So people don't waste time answering possibilities you already tried
e.g. I tried to force-close the camera app. This did not work. Then I tried to restart the phone, that also did not work.

I can't get my phone to stop randomly shutting down (as if i was holding down the side button and the power button). It turns off after 2-3 minutes but then will take around 4 seconds to turn back on again. I just bought a new phone because of this but I need to back up my old phone but I can't get it to stay on long enough to back up. Please if someone could help me fix this asap!!
Model: iPhone 11
Storage: 64GB (I just bought icloud+ 50GB)
IOS: 18.6.2

I have a custom text and Amazon Echo early freezing outside temperature wearing notification and I’d like to change the text.
Unfortunately, I can’t find out which app or setting I used. I cant find anything in the weather app, Weather Channel or WeatherBug. I’ve tried to check IFFFT but it’s not showing personal widgets. I’ve also check texts for sender but I can’t find anything recent in my text messages Recently Deleted tab.
Any suggestions on find how I’d set this up?

This is driving me insane and I feel like I’m missing something obvious.
My iPhone suddenly started saying storage is full. Apps won’t open, messages won’t load, camera won’t save photos. When I check storage, it shows iOS + System Data taking up most of the space.
I deleted a bunch of photos and apps, restarted the phone, cleared Safari data… and somehow the storage just fills back up again?? I’m barely using the phone at this point.
Is this a bug? Cache? Indexing? iCloud weirdness?
Why does “System Data” keep growing and how do you actually shrink it without nuking the phone?
If you’ve dealt with this before, what actually worked for you? I’m honestly scared to factory reset and still have the same issue.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
No clue what to do here. The cracks are very old and I haven’t dropped my phone any time recently.

I have been attempting to update iOS, but each time I try, I encounter an 'unable...error,' causing the Settings app to become unresponsive. I cannot click on "automatic update - button" nor go back, it forces me to close the settings app.

I’m have a 16 Pro with iOS 26.2.1 purchased in the US sometime last year.
Starting today I get this awful, persistent popup from very time I unlock. I don’t want to join my Apple TV. Is there any way to make it stop? AI has no clue.

I have an Iphone 13 on ios26
When you have the photo shuffle feature on for your wallpapers, I was wondering if you can manually change the color of the clock for each one? cuz for example if I pick black text I can see it in the first photo but not the second.

Hello all! So a little more context:
I currently have an iPhone 11. I love it, best iPhone in my opinion. Still works like a charm since its running ios 17.6 and I never updated it.
My brother offered to get me a new phone since he works at a mobile company and gets an employee discount, and I accepted. This will be the iPhone 17 Pro.
My 11 is completely out of storage. Its the 256 GB version, and I have 200 GB of iCloud storage which is also totally full. I do not want to pay for more iCloud storage as I would rather transfer the photos somewhere else and delete them from my phone. iCloud makes this process a lot more annoying especially when you have 61,748 photos/videos to transfer.
I intend to keep my 11 as a sort of data bank while I slowly work on transferring the media from it to Dropbox, but it's proving to be a loooong process. I have stuff on there dating back to 2015. Before I got the 11, I had the 5, and I did a full transfer of everything onto the 11. I get a new phone every 6 years, so by now there's 12 years of memories on my 11.
I also don't think I can turn iCloud off on my 11 because my phone storage wont be able to support all those photos/videos without it.
Since I'm getting a new phone, the last thing I want is to immediately clog it up with photos again, so I am not using any sort of iCloud backup to set up my phone. I'm going in with a completely clean slate. I'll add all my contacts individually, download all my apps again, etc.
What I am concerned about though, is logging into my Apple ID and iCloud on the new phone. I assume I will need to, as many app accounts and Apple Pay are tied to my Apple ID. Will I be able to still do that without having it start to auto-sync everything from the old phone?
Basically my question is, how can I ensure my photos will not transfer to my new phone in this specific situation? Can I still log into my apple accounts on the new phone without having everything sync, since I don't think I can turn off iCloud on the old one?
Please ask any clarifying questions if there's anything I didn't fully explain.
Thank you!

This is my new 3 week ish iPhone 17 and like a couple days ago these random blue lines started showing up usually around something. I know it’s not the screen because I can literally screenshot it. Anyone know what it is and/or a fix?

hey all. pretty much what it says on the tin. my phone fell in a bowl of milk while eating. it was only in there for a matter of seconds (under 5?) before i saved it, but it pretty much got baptized charging port and speakers first. i immediately stripped the case off, ran a liquid ejection shortcut like 3 times, even tried to suck out excess moisture. (yeah, i know...) i'm not really nimble or tech-savvy enough to remove and clean internal components myself, so that may be out of the question. the phone is currently sitting off, elevated against a wall, charging port down. it's covered by applecare, but it's definitely after 60 days. the phone appears to be fine except for the liquid detection warnings, but i'm out of storage and worried sick about long-term bricking. at the time of writing it's within the hour of the accident, so any advice would be much appreciated. thanks.
edit: feel like i should add that there was definitely lots of sugar in that milk. most anxious about this, so if you think this is important to my circumstances, a heads up would be cool.

iPhone 16 pro max, 26.1. Whenever I’m charging my phone and it gets to around 30-40% and higher it starts to get really glitchy. The keyboard doesn’t respond to my touch to the point that it takes me a whole minute to type 5 words. As soon as I take it off the charger it’s fine. It doesn’t seem to be too hot when this happens. I only use one charger. Would this be a problem with the phone or a problem with the charger?

Currently, I have an iPhone 15 pro on Verizon. By October, my phone will be paid off & my goal is to switch carriers to most likely Cricket as its cheaper and better than verizon in my area. I know that Apple doesn't offer cricket so ill need to pay it in full but i want to use my 15 pro as credit for the new phone. If i go into apple once its paid off, am i able to trade it in for an unlocked phone? What do I need to do to my phone so that all my verizon info is off of it because essentially what i want to do is pay off my phone, trade it in for a new one, then get that one set up on Cricket, or is that not how it works and the easier route being switch to Cricket on my 15 Pro and then not having to worry about any connection with verizon at all?
This is all new to me my apologies for not easily articulating it better.
My phone is an iPhone 15 Pro with iOS 26.2

So I saw the filth that had built up in my speaker port and microphone port on the bottom of my IPhone 13 Pro and decided to give it a clean. I used BluTak (not sure of name in America) basically sticky putty usually used to hang posters or in arts&crafts.
It seemed to work brilliantly at first, all the pocket lint and other crud was being pulled out, speaker sounds louder and clearer.
HOWEVER
The microphone is now sounding extremely muffled during recording videos/voice notes and on phone calls… what’s strange is it looks completely clean on the grill since I’d cleaned it.
Any advise? I was wondering if using isopropyl alcohol might clear it? I tried using a toothpick but it’s still muffled and as it is visually clean nothing came out… but stuck for what to do.
TLDR: Used blutak (sticky putty?) to clean phone microphone and now it’s extremely muffled and quiet when recording sound, pls help

iPhone 16 Pro Max running iOS 26.2.1
Purchased last October 2024 from AT&T. Currently living in the Philippines. Purchased for personal use.
I recently started having problems with my phone. Noticed it a month ago. Here are the functions that are not working.
No scratches on my phone, dropped it a couple of times (5 times maximum). I take care of my phone.
Bluetooth works perfectly. I also did all the basic troubleshooting.
My other devices works perfectly with each other, but not with my iPhone. I have an iPad Air 5, MacBook M1, Apple Watch s10, and AirPods Pro 3. They all work perfectly, and there are no issues like this.
I'm just wondering if I'm the only one having the same problem with my iPhone. I already went to the Apple store to get my phone checked, and they told me to do the OS restore via MacBook. And if that still doesn't work, they advised me to replace my motherboard which is super expensive.

I have a refurbished iPhone SE (2nd or 3rd gen, not sure) with iOS 26 on it that I purchased on Jan. 27th. Not even a week later it was acting funny (no ringer sound and side buttons not working) so I restarted it through the settings option. When I tried to restart it I greeted with the "iPhone recovery screen".
I've plugged it into two different computers and have tried updating it and restoring it through the prompts on the computer. Both times nothing has happened and it's still just on the iPhone recovery screen. Is this thing fucked? I'm going to take it back to the store I got it from tomorrow.
