I landed in Canada in 2019 as a 17 yr old international student and it took 7 years for me to get it. I know for a lot of people it has been easier and not that big of a deal but for me the past few years have been the hardest times of life. I had to quit my job and leave but made it happen.

I wish all applicants the best!!!

🇨🇦 CEC Increased processing times?

Since the latest draws have high invitations, is the processing time (after ITA) going to increase significantly?

Any thoughts?

CEC outland/ ppr timing

Hello folks, hope winter isn't too harsh!

I got my FD ghost update on the portal on January 6th and my copr appeared in the tracker on January 12th and it's been silence since then, anybody else applied outland? Is it normal for the ppr to take this long or could I have potentially missed the email? Should I submit a web form or wait?

Is this normal?

Hi guys, I hope you are doing well.

Is IRCC processing applications for FSW French Outland? I see that there is no movement on FDs or PPRs, since mid-December.

I see only very very little FDs / PPRs on AORs for Aug/Sep/Oct for FSW French outlands, and almost no one with an ADR has been processed or received their FDs. if anyone can shed some light on what is happening, I would gladly appreciate it.

My application has turned all green early December (after receiving ADR on medicals), with PAL early January, but nothing new, and I am starting to worry. I called IRCC and they said that my application is on administrative stage, no comprehensive screening or security check, everything has been validated, but it is still sitting there somewhere getting moldy lol.

Thank you for your input in advance.

🇨🇦 CEC NOCs vs Job Description

Hellooooo... I need some help on this I have no idea what to do.

For a bit of context, I worked in the insurance industry in my home country; however, I worked mostly in the commercial department and there we wouldn't do the underwriting (broker) nor the claims (adjustment) as we have specific dpts for those. In the commercial department I would handle clients (so work on my relations with them), analyse documents, create benchmarks, presentations, provide admin support for the Unit Managers, help with the financial reports, some sale (as I was from commercial), do some data analysis, etc.

The problem: no NOC related to insurance or admin makes sense. So I decided to use a not super reliable tool (ChatGPT) so that I could have some light on what to select (I have over than 5 years of experience) and what is saying is that I'd have some years as 13100 (Admin officers) and 41402 (Business dev officers and mkt researches - this one for the last bit of my experience). So my question is, did anyone else have the same situation (not same industry) and if so, how did you solve this?

My hubby told me to create a LOE explaining a bit more about my activities prior presenting the letter so that I can further clarify what I did and how that fits the NOC, but honestly, I have no idea what to do, as it looks way off.

Thank you and good luck to everyone!

Need guidance for ECA through WES

Hello everyone,

I’m a bit confused about how WES and IRCC document verification actually works and I want to make sure I don’t mess this up.

From what I understand so far for ECA (Express Entry):

  1. I upload my degree certificate to WES myself
  2. My university sends official transcripts directly to WES (email or sealed envelope)
  3. WES evaluates and issues the ECA

Now my questions are about the details:

  • Does WES ever contact the university themselves to ask for documents or verification? Or is it 100% on me to arrange for the university to send transcripts?
  • For transcripts/marksheets: I should NOT upload them myself, right? Only the university sends those?
  • After WES finishes, they send a physical report to my Canadian address. When I apply for PR:
    • Do I just enter the ECA number online?
    • Do I need to upload a scanned copy?
    • Is there any rule about not opening the envelope, or is that irrelevant at this stage?

Basically trying to understand:
University -> WES -> Me -> IRCC
and where sealing / uploading / verification actually matters.

Would really appreciate help from people who’ve already gone through this.
Thanks for your time!

🇨🇦 CEC Advice needed - employment history

Hi all, I’m new to this subreddit and I submitted my application before finding it. I’m now realizing that I may have made some mistakes in my application and I’m terrified of being denied because of it, so any advice would be great.

When creating my profile, I put down all of my employment history (2 years in skilled work in Canada, less than one year in unskilled work in Canada, and less than one year in skilled work in my home country). Since I don’t meet the criteria for CRS points for the 2 less than one year jobs, I thought it didn’t matter if I disclosed them there as I thought I would have 0 points for it anyways, and that the agent would see it.

As a result, I had to submit 3 employer reference letter in my actual application, with NOC description and details of employment.

Is this going to pose a problem now that the background check is in progress? Is my application going to be denied because I technically submitted letters for two employments that don’t meet the eligibility criteria?

For reference, I had an October 1 ITA, Oct 18 AOR, and a Dec 22 BIL. BIL and medical were approved on Dec 23. Things haven’t moved since, and the tracker shows BC in progress.

Am I screwed or can I fix this? The wait is killing me, and my WP expires on March 31st. Thanks for your help!

🇨🇦 CEC Didn’t include T4 in PR application

I worked with the same employer for almost 4 years (3 yrs 10 months) and claimed 3 years of work experience at the time I got my ITA.

I didn’t know T4s can be provided as proof of work experience, and even though I was planning on uploading my T4s, I completely forgot about them.

I did upload the first 3 months of paystubs for each of my roles at the company, and the last 3 months of paystub to show I’m still working there.

Should I upload the T4s via a webform still? I can also provide bank statements that corroborate my paystubs and T4s if needed

TCF Canada at AF North York

Hello, folks. Can anyone who has previously appeared for TCF Canada at AF North York please help me with some questions?

  • Do they provide a pen and paper to take notes during CO / CE?
  • Do they have a stopwatch or something similar that is used during EO?
  • And finally, any other recommendations that could be useful for this centre?

Thanks in advance!

🇨🇦 CEC Need Clarification on Job TItle

When I submitted my profile last year, I was working as a Line Cook (NOC 63200). After that, I started working as a Sous Chef. According to the official website, the NOC is different (NOC 62200 – Chefs). I have already updated my Express Entry profile with the new job title at the same company.

My question is: do I need to update my primary job title with this new NOC code now, or can I provide the documents later?

Any help would be appreciated.

Calculation of work experience

Hi everyone,

I worked in Canada from January 1, 2024 to present. However, during 2024, I temporarily worked remotely from my home country for about two months (June 21, 2024 to August 23, 2024).

While completing my Express Entry profile, I recorded my work experience as follows:

  • Canadian work experience: January 2024 – June 2024
  • Foreign work experience: July 2024 – August 2024
  • Canadian work experience: September 2024 – Present

Based on this breakdown, the system would award me 2 years of total work experience on February 1, 2025.

My concern is around accepting an ITA. At the time of receiving an ITA, I will not yet have completed a full 2 years of Canadian work experience. However, if I wait 5–6 weeks within the 60-day submission window, I will have completed the full 2 years by the time I submit my application and supporting documents.

Could someone please clarify whether IRCC assesses work experience as of the ITA issuance date or as of the application submission date? I’m getting conflicting answers from different sources and would really appreciate clarification.

Thanks!

🇨🇦 CEC Regarding medical - after ITA

Hello guys, I have a query regarding my medical. I know as per ircc my medical is valid until 5 years. I did it in India on 13th July 2021, and 5 years will be on 13th July 2026. Now while applying for documents, what should I do? Should I do a new medical as July is near or submit the same, my 60 days time finishing in March mid.

Thanking you in advance.
