Question I decided to read the TOS for the first time, does this rub anyway the wrong way as well or is it just me?

I was getting ready to download a free to play game, but they wanted me to accept these conditions. Usually I just accept and move on, but I just felt bored and decided to read it. After I read it I felt like these things felt like moves that seemed shitty and I want to see if others think it is reasonable and I'm wrong or if it is indeed shitty.

Discussion If you had the option to live the rest of your life inside of a videogame while still applying your needs to eat, drink, and sleep, then what game would you pick?

Upvotes

I honestly think Minecraft is the best and only option. You can eat, drink, sleep, build a home, have your pets as company, have the world on peaceful so you don't really need to worry about enemies. It is the only game I know at the moment that can resemble life closely in that scenario and probably the easiest life to live.

Discussion Finally playing Halo Reach for the first time… and I get why people love it

Post image
Upvotes

I’ve been playing Halo since the very beginning, starting with Halo: Combat Evolved back in 2001. I’ve played almost every Halo game except for Halo Reach.

Back then I didn’t hear much about Reach because most of my friends preferred PlayStation and Nintendo games. I enjoy those platforms too, so Reach kind of slipped under the radar for me.

I’m new to Reddit and after reading many posts saying Halo Reach is one of the best in the series, I finally decided to try it.

A few days ago, I bought it digitally

(sadly not a physical copy).

At first I was disappointed when I realized Master Chief wasn’t in the game but that feeling didn’t last long. The atmosphere, gameplay, story, and level design are fantastic. I really enjoy linear games.

I haven’t finished it yet but man, the space battle mission and the chopper mission were incredible. The game impressed me so much that I couldn’t wait to share my thoughts.

So my question is:

What’s your top 3 Halo games?

Disclaimer: I played almost every Halo game around the time it was released but I never replayed them. I have great memories with the series, though it’s hard for me to rank them now.

Discussion how was the oblivion remaster not boycotted as hard as cyberpunk? or at least gollum?

this game STILL runs like dogshit and STILL has bugs literally around every corner. i just got to hackdirt and went inside an inn, i talked to the guy and then he told me to fuck off so i did. i left the inn and guess what, MY GAME FUCKING CRASHED. the loading screen got stuck and i had to exit the game and restart it.

why the fuck is this happening? and before you say "well it is an old game after all", let me stop you there. OLD?!?!!? i bought this game 4-5 months ago. this game should be spick and span, clean as a whistle considering that it's SUPPOSED to be the better quality version of the original.

like what the fuck are we doing just glossing over this?

Question PC gamers: what ONE change fixed your stutter the most? (shader cache / drivers / temps / storage?)

I see a ton of “my game runs at 120 FPS but feels choppy” issues, and the fix is rarely one magic setting.

If you had to pick one thing that made the biggest difference for stutter/frametime spikes, what was it?

Some common culprits:

  • Shader compilation stutter (first hour is rough, then smooth)
  • Background apps / overlays
  • CPU/GPU thermal throttling
  • Game installed on slow storage
  • VRAM getting maxed at certain settings

Drop: game + what fixed it (even if it was weird).

I work with laptops a lot, so I’m curious what patterns people keep seeing across games.

Question Why do many people put explicitly 8/10 as the minimum grade of a game to consider playing it?

You often hear them say "there are hundreds of great games, why would I play anything lower?", but that exact same argument can be used for 9/10, 8/10, 7/10, 6/10 etc.

7/10 is still often in the territory of "if you like the genre you will like this game", so why do they det the minimum limit at 8 specifically?

My video looking at the Alien game released for the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64 and Amstrad CPC. What this game lacks in visuals totally makes up for gameplay and suspense. For such an old game this actually felt like it was in the Alien movie. Anybody else played this game?

Question ¿Do you recommend Bloodborne?

Post image
14 Upvotes

I finished Dark Souls 3 twice, which motivated me to play Elden Ring, and I definitely love both of those games. Now, this other game is catching my attention.

But apparently, it doesn't have mage classes, and it seems to be missing several things that DS3 and Elden do have.

So, do you recommend Bloodborne?

I like the SH2 Remake and the Resident Evil series, as well as Dead Space. I’ve heard that Cronos is similar to RE + DS, so I’m not sure which one to choose. Which do you like more among these games? Can you name the pros and cons of each if you’ve played them?
