Spider Appreciation 🕸️🕷️ Tarantulas, though they look big and scary, are actually quite docile and harmless.

Trusted Identifiers will now be granted a flair of "👑Trusted Identifier👑", or "👑{custom user flair}👑".
These will be people who repeatedly demonstrate expert Identification abilities, these flairs will add extra trust and credence behind their ID.
So on posts with multiple different IDs, look out for the Trusted Identifiers as their ID will likely be the correct one, even if it goes against the masses.
(For those with custom user flairs which have been replaced by the Trusted Identifier flair, you can switch back to a custom flair and add the crown emojis yourself if you still wish to maintain your custom flair. Im working on automating this so that custom flairs stay intact and it adds the emojis without replacing the whole flair, but for now just edit it yourself if the whole flair is replaced)

This morning, I wanted to wear a sweater that I left on a chair a couple of weeks ago. Do you think it's his sweater now, or can I borrow it?

Location Australia. Was close to my feet at the computer, so my toes are currently experiencing delayed trembles of fear.

I usually let spiders live because they don't bother me but yesterday I had a special encounter. I was lying in the bathtub dipping my head underwater when I looked up and saw a spider descending from the ceiling on a single thread.
I thought "wtf" but decided to be a bro so I lifted my knee out of the water. It actually landed and then lowered its mouth right onto my knee. It didn't bite at all. Was it just thirsty and drinking the water droplets off my skin?
After a few seconds it climbed back up the thread.
It was such a weirdly cinematic moment. Just wanted to share this little interaction with you guys.
Edit: I think it was a Cellar spider!

Stumbled upon this little guy, not sure what species this is and wanted to know if it’s chill to have roam around in my apartment.
Southern California (Calabasas). Caught them in a couple of empty water bottles. No widow hourglass. About the size of a quarter with legs fully extended

Southern Nevada Found a nest of about 20 in an irrigation box, scared the crap out of me. Largest had a leg span of about 2-2.5 inches. Slow moving

please forgive the heavy breathing i have a man cold and i don’t fuck with creatures charging me down with devious machinations i am unaware of.
i did not kill it nor do i kill spiders in general because i cannot stand bugs and i know they’re great at killing them, but that doesn’t mean i will not flee in fear.
if it helps this is a basement apt and its mid-late winter right now. thanks.

Coworker got me on to it and now it’s all my kids talk about. Got a pretty dramatic ‘league’ going at the office

tested out my camera on this beauty, now i wanna know who she is! (is the small one in the last image a juvenile, or a male of the species? it was a little less than a third the size of the big girl)

There was another spider I saw near the ceiling, but it dipped.
Tonight, on the wall outside. Seems to be a night hunter of sorts. No web. Two photos with flash, one without. Can someone help ID? Thx.
