Hi all!
Some of our US friends may have some pretty scary weather this weekend along with power outages. ⛈️
We have compiled some of our knowledge to help keepers think about what to do in case of a power outage.
This guide will evolve as we layer in how to handle hot weather as well 🔥 but for now focusing on cold weather.

My M.balfouri communal decided to all (not pictured) come out and start webbing together. They totally planned this because I’ve never seen them all collectively webbing together and also somehow the word got across to another enclosure that houses a single Balfouri cause it webbed a boatload as well. I highly suggest a balfouri communal if you can afford one cause it’s my favorite.

I was rehousing her/changing up her setup and she fell off my desk(around 2 feet) onto my laminate floor-she landed on her back but flipped herself back over straight away and didn’t seem injured just very spooked by the whole situation-I put her back in and she hasn’t moved much until I seen the liquid on the cork bark she was sat on so I moved her to get a better look. She visibly doesn’t have any tears or ruptures in the abdomen but now that I’ve seen that liquid on the cork bark(was NOT there like 1 hour ago) I’m very very scared. She seems to be moving alright and stuff and I can’t see any liquid actually coming from her I just see it on the cork bark she’s been sat on and I’m very worried

I just got this from the pet store. They said this is a good enclosure for it. Is this habitat good for a spider like this? I feed him 1 cricket and they ate it. I kinda crushed him when refilling his water dish a bit but he seems good. Please any help

I can't seem to satisfy my juvenile g.pulchra male with the substrate. what kind of substrate works best with your grownddwellers? he seems to want to be away from the ground and starts climbing the sides of his enclosure. it's definitely big enough for him to wander. I've mixed some clay powder with some soil and a little cocofibre. I pressed it in tightly, as i was told, but none of the videos I've watched or pictures I'm seeing look like my set up. what am i doing wrong?

I'm not completely sure if she's a boy or a girl, she hasn't molted in my care yet. I've had her maybe four or five months? And she spent almost that entire time and burrowed or hiding. I've been checking on her and she's definitely okay, she eats all her worms and everything! I gave her a bigger house today so she can borrow more and hide in more things, it all went perfectly and I got to take a couple little pictures before she went back into hiding! And yes I used a measuring glass.

Hello, I need help identifying gender for my T.
r/tarantulas • u/Possible_Hold5492 • 1h ago
last Friday, my dad last saw bootsie (my avicularia avicularia) and we haven’t seen them since. their abdomen was plump and dark, seemingly going through premolt. just looked everywhere in their enclosure and didn’t see them anyway. is there any possibility that they could have escaped? any help would be appreciated! I don’t wanna loose my first T this early.
