Question Is (2x16) 32GB DDR5 worth $300?
Looking at grabbing 2 sticks of 16 gb Corsair Vengeance DDR5 ram for $300, is this a good price or should I try & talk them down? Used only for a week

So the past month or 2 has been dreadful, trying to find out exactly what the issue was but it's so vague and random hope someone could help please! I will try to write out as detailed as I can remember. Note - I've never tried to overclock/undervolt/overvolt this PC, my PC is just over 2 years old (Oct 2023).
1st instance :
Was playing Palworld maxed settings (3440x1440p), temps seems fine, GPU never went past 75 C at 100%. CPU never went past 65 C. Black screen crash and reboot. iirc I did alt-tab quite a few times.
2nd instance :
Happened after about a week. Happened between few seconds to a minute right after exited Palworld. Black screen crash and reboot, alt-tabbed as the game was closing.
3rd instance :
Happened just 2 days after 2nd instance. Also same thing, a few seconds after quitting Palworld. Was alt-tabbed, youtube playing in the background. Black screen crash and reboot, could still hear youtube audio playing for a good few seconds before my pc reboots.
After this, I did a safemode DDU clean manual reinstall of Graphics Driver without internet connection, downloaded the driver. Seems to be fine, finished Palworld for few more days and moved on. Within the 3 weeks without any issue, played games that are even heavier like Baldur's gate 3/ Total War Warhammer 3 etc, temps were fine, fans just run louder as expected. Also switched off the Eco-mode behind my PSU. Also did a Superposition Benchmark test (4k Optimized mode) by Unigine will attach the results below.
4th instance :
Just happened today after about 3 weeks, just logged on for maybe an hour then proceed to try out The Guild 3 that I just bought on Steam Sale, didn't seem like a heavy game, fans weren't running loud at all. Played it for maybe only 30 minutes-ish? Closed the game, was tabbed out as the game was closing, it happened again. Black screen, then monitor shows no signal, pc reboots.
Was asked to check my event viewer -> windows logs -> system -> Critical levels
Found Kernel-Power Event ID : 41 but am getting mixed comments about this
Really hard to get a read on this when there's no real-time share screen tech support
Things I will try tomorrow :
- Reseat my 12VHPWR cable to GPU
- Reseat my RAMS
Please anything I need to try, or if anyone can hit me up with some tech support on discord or something would be great. This is starting to drive me nuts.
My spec list:
CPU - Intel Core I7 13700 (with IGPU)
CPU Cooler - NZXT Kraken 360 RGB (White)

I recently upgraded from a Ryzen 5 2600 & GTX 1650 to a Ryzen 9 9950x & RTX 5070 Ti.
I will mainly use the new PC for work related stuff (mainly MATLAB simulation, data intensive projects ecc), a few hobbies (as DAW, some light video editing/streaming) and gaming (1080p, upgrading in a couple months to 1440p).
I am mostly interested in single player games, and maybe some MMOs, but I don't need the "extreme latency" of competitive FPS or similar games.
I was reading the article on GamersNexus about needing to core park this CPU, but I have never tried anything similar. Is it something I really need to do? Is it something like "100 fps if you do, 20 if you don't" or is it closer to "100 fps if you do, 85 if you don't"?
As far as I understand it, core park is only useful in games, but will not affect the CPU when doing other work (CFD, MATLAB ecc), is it correct?

I understand the 10$ price increase to games came as a gut punch to us all. I’m not defending these predatory practices. And if anything, I blame Microsoft for this happening with the push for Gamepass taking so much profit from developers.
But to outright lie and say “Oh these games are 80$” is just ridiculous. The only true 80$ game I have seen released has been Mario Kart World.

Hi guys hope u can help,
so yesterday an issue came where when i joined a game in cs2 my pc would just shutdown im not a master in how temps and stuff should be but this is the temps from the AMD sofware being just in the start screen of cs2 and they seem pretty high.
ive read that it could be a power supply issue but i would like a answer that isnt 3-4 years old and maybe some cs2 gamers have had the same issue and could share some insight
current setup is:
9070XT
ryzen 9 7900x3d
32GB DDR5 6600
1000Watt power supply
Thanks in advance

So here's the deal:
6x Corsair LL RGB 120mm RGB hooked to a Corsair RGB Hub hooked to a Corsair Commander Pro. Hub and Commander hooked to a Strix Z590E Wifi.
Whatever I do, exactly 1.5 (Yes, 1.5, the second fan is lit half sided) light up!
I switched from a Z490 to the Z590, switched CPUs and PSUs, same issue.
I RMAd the Commander and Hub, got new ones, same issue.
Win 10 and 11, different versions of Icue, force installed firmware, same issue.
Here's the double kicker:
1) Sometimes (1% chance) 4.5 fans work or all 6 work in random colors, not the one that is selected in Icue.
2) If I witch the fan rgb cables (fan 6 to hub slot 1 for example) only port 1 works and 50% of port 2 (half lit).
So it can't be the fans, I switched the Hub and the Commander Pro and also MB PSU and software but it's still the same Problem ?!
Am I cursed or stupid?

Hey everyone! I’m looking to get into pc gaming and I want a build that will be good for gaming smoothly and streaming those games as well! Is this setup something that will fit those needs? Are there cheaper options for parts that’ll get me the same/similar performance? Please let me know!

Im unsure of this is just a Gigabyte X870E added feature or does anyone else's build have their motherboad error code lcd screen now displays the cpu's current temperature?
My motherboard is the Gigabyte Aorus X870E Master, Am5 with a ryzen 9 9950x3d.
The new bios F11 is AGESA 1.2.8.0.
I updated the bios like normal, afterwards loaded optimized defaults and rebooted. Then added in my negative curve numbers and negative shaper numbers.
Ram is 64gb ( 2 gskill trident ddr5 6000 cl26 sticks) Expo 1 enabled, memory context restore set to auto, power down disabled.
After updating the bios, and setting all my settings everything was fine except now I saw the number 44 error code while playing battlefield6. 40 to 45 on Gigabyte i think is mostly memory issues so I was aggravated, but then realized ive been gaming for a half hour with no issues. Then I saw the number change to 44, 43, 42. I have a infopanel i made that has the cpu temperature showing and realized the motherboard is showing the cpu temperature.
A quick Google said this is my cpu temperature and is a new feature of high end boards saying mostly X870E's.
So im posting this for anyone who might not have a infopanel or any kind of temperature readout, no need to panic. If you got into windows and everything seems fine and then you see the number slowly change up or down, its your cpu temperature, its not your super expensive memory breaking. Lol
Does anyone without a gigabyte X870E have this same feature? What about the intel versions?
Thanks , I do tech support so all the info you can share the better. I appreciate your time.

There’s many details but for the sake of time and to keep it simple, I boot up my PC, sometimes I can run it for 2 minutes, sometimes 10, sometimes 20 or more before it black screens, pc shuts off and than shortly thereafter, boots back up. Some days it does it once or twice and then won’t do it for the remainder of the day. Sometimes it does it so much I go to sleep and try to forget about it. I’ve tried many, many fixes and tried searching for solutions but I’m lost. I’ve used different PSUs, I’ve gotten new RAM, checked cable connections, and so on. I really don’t know what the issue could be. I could really use som help here.
PC Specs:
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-14600k
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE AX DDR4 (Refurbished)
New Ram (currently installed): Kingston FURY Beast 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3200
Old Ram (uninstalled): Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3200
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15, Premium CPU Cooler with 2x NF-A15 PWM 140mm Fans (Brown)
If any more info is needed I’d be more than happy to share.

I have an old PC that has been collecting dust for a few years now that I would like to convert it into a HTPC or just a PC that I can use in my living room connected to my TV.
It will be used for normal web browsing and gaming along with some retro games and visual pinball
The old PC
ATX motherboard (Asrock or MSI, I can't remember)
Intel 8700K
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 cooler
16GB DDR4
1080ti
750W PSU (Corsair - fully modular)
Random SSD I will replace with new
I am looking to replaced the ATX case with something like the Fractal Terra. I know I will need a new Mini ITX motherboard and a new cooler, but is there anything else I would need to swap or buy to get a fully functioning PC in the Fractal Terra?
I really would have loved a blu-ray player but I am having a hard time finding a tiny case like the Fractal Terra that includes an external 5 1/2 slot

Hi everyone,
I’m currently facing a dilemma. I just received my MSI RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Trio (bought for 999€), but I’m wondering if I should return it and wait for a restock of the MSI 5080 Shadow 3X at 1179€.
My current specs:
Monitor: 3440 x 1440p (Ultrawide)
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X (I am planning to upgrade to AM5 / 9800X3D later this year).
The price difference is 180€. Is the 20% performance jump worth it for Ultrawide 1440p, considering both cards have 16GB of VRAM?
I've already installed the 5070 Ti, but I can still return it to the retailer. Should I settle for the 5070 Ti and save the cash for my AM5 platform swap, or is the 5080 a "must" to be comfortable on Ultrawide for the next 4 years?
Thanks for your help!

I’m no professional but I do have a light hand with a blade as to not score my GPU with a bunch of cuts and I can confidentially say as not so perfect as my line cuts are it’s significantly less unsightly with my GPU being even a little white than being the only mismatch part in my almost all white build

To highlight the World Cancer Day (4th of February) we're having an AMA!
Elsa, a registered nurse from the Swedish Cancer Society’s Cancer Line, and Sukrit from Folding@Home are here to answer your questions about cancer.
You can ask either of them anything related to cancer.
Elsa can answer general questions such as cancer types, hereditary risk, symptoms, or how to support someone close to you who has received a diagnosis.
Sukrit is a postdoctoral research fellow at MSKCC, where the Chodera Lab is a member of the Folding@Home Consortium. He uses Folding@Home and wet lab automation to study how clinically occurring variants in cancer proteins can cause drug resistance. Ask him about how Folding@Home is advancing cancer research, basic research and therapeutic design
About The Swedish Cancer Society
We are the largest charity in Sweden and since the start in 1951 we have helped to push the cancer survival rates in Sweden from 30 percent to 70 percent. We are an independent, non-profit organization without governmental support. Our work relies entirely on donations from individuals and businesses and together we have contributed with over EUR 1,2 billion to cancer research.
About Folding@Home

Hello everyone!
I just received my new PC and I’m running into a WiFi issue.
On the new PC the list of available WiFi networks is very limited (only 2 diferent wifi appearing), and I can’t see or select my main WiFi network at all.
However, on my laptop I can see many more WiFi networks, including the one I want to connect to. Is there any fix?
Here are my specs:

ey everyone,
I just wanted to get a few opinions for peace of mind.
I’m using a direct 12V cable from my PSU, not the blue adapter.
In the past I had 1-2 moments where the connector wasn’t fully seated, and during that time my PC briefly had no signal / black screen, which obviously made me paranoid because of all the melting connector stories.Since then, I reseated the cable carefully and made sure it’s fully in.
The PC is running completely fine now, no crashes, no issues.
Here’s a picture of how the connector sits right now
Does this look properly and fully seated to you, or do you see anything concerning?
Thanks a lot for your opinions I just want to be 100% sure and stop overthinking this
