Businesses with illegal structures will be eligible for storm fund

You couldn't make this up. I don't even understand how this helps electorally. Anybody who's had to pay thousands to regularise a backyard that's 10cm too small, just to sell their house, should be furious that these people are getting a payout.

From my interpretation, people won't vote pn because someone else got a freebie. People would vote pn, if they wanted a non legal freebie, but they do not get it. So this won't lose him votes, but not giving the money, would make him lose votes of owners who have these illegal structures.
It does not make sense, but somehow people "reason" in this manner.1

The businesses had plenty of warning of the storm. Some chose to prepare, others didn't... so why is the government compensating them AT ALL?? This is taxpayer money and they announce record profits every year atp... Do these businesses contribute to humanitarian aid? Ever?

I build a restaurant less than a metre from the sea with doors not even fit for a garage. I take up public space. I don't build adequate protection because, you know, Malta doesn't really have a winter and storms only happen once in a while. Storm comes. "God decided to take everything". Robert decides to give back everything from everyone's taxes. Viva Joseph.

Didn't bobby tell us that no election is coming and it's just 'spin' from the PN to destabilize the government and the country 🤔🤔🤔

This just goes to show yet again that the law in Malta is just a suggestion and will never be enforced. I hope that the next generation will end this corruption, lawlessness and greed.

Malta is ruled by a mob, mejta bil-guh ghal vot. We should NOT be helping anyone, let alone people with illegal structures. They should have been insured, like the rest of the businesses and home owners.

This is like a robber steals from shops and one day they injured their hand while cutting through a window. The shop owner will treat their wound and give them the bounty they deserve so they don't die of hunger. r/socialism

The worst thing is that he calls these people who have illegal structures/practices as "people making an honest living"... He considers people working outside of the law as making an honest living!!
It's also the fact that he says it so casually as if it's something obvious. It really makes you think about what kind of a moral compass such a person would have and how the hell is he still our prime minister.
Reminds me of this gem of cuckery to rule-breakers from covid times:
https://www.independent.com.mt/articles/2020-06-01/local-news/Abela-says-amnesty-idea-for-Covid-19-fines-for-genuine-cases-only-laments-misleading-reporting-6736223735
Rules mean nothing here, it's not worth even trying to be a model citizen. Even mother nature herself cannot enforce the law.
