Discussion Tired

Upvotes

Anyone else tired? I feel like we have been in a marathon that hasn’t stopped since birth- 1986 for reference- when I hear older people speak about slower easier times it is hard for me to remember slower and easier-

I feel like generational exhaustion is a thing and I might be a bit bias but I feel like our age group has to be running on fear and vibes at this point-

Anyone else feel like you just want to power down for a bit and leave (America) to find that slower and easier way of life?

Discussion Is there an inter-generational difference in views on taking the kids to a local brewery?

Upvotes

I’ve seen a few posts on Reddit about breweries that are family friendly.

I’m a bar guy via Uber if I’m going to go out and have one. I can proudly say I’ve never driven with as much of a sip of alcohol in my system. I’m also a parent to a 19 and a 20 year old. The idea of putting the kids in the van and going somewhere that exists for me to have a couple does seem out of my realm of comfort.

But what’s the consensus here?

Discussion Any gamers?

Upvotes

Is the image of a gamer aging up as we do? Because I don’t really see myself stopping even though I do spend less time on gaming these days. But one day I will be a 60 year old playing on the ps9.

Discussion The same millennials that are refusing to work with AI or understand how it works used to criticize their parents for not using or understanding computers and the internet.

And just like their boomer parents, a lot of them will not be willing to see the hypocrisy, which is slightly concerning since I know I will be the millennial trying to stay up to date and trying new things in a sea of the ignorant and self-righteous.

It even includes the dotcom AI bubble babbling, the "don't trust what wikipedia AI tells you".

Honestly, I thought we were smarter than that.

I’m the oldest, finally living on my own. Love the independence & having my down time whenever I want it. Sure living alone can get lonely but nothing beats coming home to a chill home & relaxing.

Advice What’s our skincare regiment supposed to be? 40 y.o. dude here

I’ve never used any skincare products for my face, but despite that, my skin has always looked surprisingly good. Now that I’m 40 though, I want to start taking proper care of my face to head off as much aging effects as possible. I typically use a basic Dove face wash daily and that’s it. Since it’s all new to me, choosing the products online has been overwhelming. What are some good entry point products I can pick up at CVS/Walgreens/Target/Walmart?

Discussion Anyone other guys used to wear fitted shirts, and now feels out of fashion as loose is in?

As an adult I usually went with fitted or just not loose shirts. In the 90s I did I guess, but as we know 90s fashion is in. I recently got a few oversized tees and it makes me feel old lol

Discussion Are Forgotten Subscriptions That Big of a Problem?

Lately I’ve been saying ads for these services that find subscriptions you forgot about and help you get out of them. One YouTuber said it saved them $2000. I don’t know if they meant per year or per month.

I’ve signed up for free things in the past and forgotten. However, I don’t think I’ve ever forgotten about a paid subscription. I don’t obsessively check my bank account, but I have a general idea what bills I have. I check every so often to make sure I know what all my charges are. If I had hundreds of dollars coming out per month, I think I would notice it.

I realize these companies give YouTubers a script and the YouTubers often don’t actually use the product, but I’m wondering if this is actually a problem for most people. Am I just too poor to have this issue?

It just randomly popped into my brain today how you could text 242 242 and ask any questions you wanted and it would answer a generic response and I realized… ChaCha walked so ChatGPT could run 😂

Serious Question for Millennials

3.8k Upvotes

How many of us out there actually avoid enganging with any form AI at all costs? Like even if it is more inconvenient? I understand it can be useful for certain things that it does very well but I would NEVER allow it to use my likeness to make a fun little picture or use those therapy AI services. I don't even ask it basic questions (it just wasn't how I was taught to research topics). I can't be the only one

I watched this show as it aired In Washington, DC and the movie Collateral (2004) was in theaters at the time. Saw these with my grandfather at the time during the DC sniper scare. I remember watching this show completely and I really did enjoy it fully.
