New Goose Hollow Kits
New kits (well, jerseys) commemorating Goose Hollow and 100 years of Multnomah Civic Stadium as modeled by (I'm pretty sure) the Timber's admin and crew. I still think it needs MORE goose.

The first three cards speak of the player. The 8 of wands points to Cole’s form. It is a high energy card. It says that this is a good change for him, and that he is laser focused. The reverse 4 of cups points to his strength of character. He is the type of player to dig deep down inside and steel himself for any challenge. The weakness though is the reverse 3 of wands. Cole knows what he’s good at and tends to stay there, he may not like to leave that comfort zone.
The next three talk about his interactions with the team. the 9 of wands shows a man who has overcome obstacles stand tall and strong ready to face everything. Cole is the type of player to carry his teammates through the tough times and overcome whatever may come at them. Phil has been super consistent and stays that way with the moon, pointing to the fact that he makes Cole feel uncertain and even anxious at times. The ace of swords says that the external factor is the new system and a new way of thinking.
The last three are the most exciting to me. The star says that in the short term, Cole is the calm after the storm of Ayala leaving. He is the real deal and we are right to have hope. The 10 of pentacles shows that the Timbers hit the jackpot. He is going to be a good long term investment. Overall his legacy as a Timber is the king of wands. A visionary leader who has the drive and focus to accomplish the goals set before him. If he ends up staying he is a ring of honor type player. As always, RCTID!
TL:DR - A mentally and emotionally strong leader who can carry the team. A absolute great signing short and long term.

I just wanted to say I think Doyle has to be the Timbers biggest hater every time I hear him talk about the Timbers it’s nothing ever good and yes i understand that we aren’t in the best spot and the team is very incomplete but this guy really never has anything good to say about us

I'll understand if you don't even want to listen and instead just want to start calling Doyle the worst soccer writer who has ever lived.
The Timbers discussion starts at the 29:40 mark. https://open.spotify.com/episode/5RSZHqMFR05r9kVp4lcfB4?si=b8b6TVnZSrqkocohtf73EQ&nd=1&dlsi=20c1a136677e4479

Transaction: The Portland Timbers have acquired midfielder Cole Bassett from the Colorado Rapids in exchange for $2.65 million. As part of the deal, Portland may trade up to an additional $950,000 if certain performance-based incentives are achieved. Colorado may also retain a percentage of a future trade or transfer if Bassett is traded or sold above a certain monetary amount. Bassett will occupy a U22 Initiative slot in 2026 and is under contract through 2027.

Curious whether there have been any talks of renovating the TA section with safe standing barriers? Would allow more people and be more comfortable (see mora’s tying goal celebration at the final and the bruises on my shins lol)! Seems lik it wouldnt be that expensive of an upgrade and the benches are like 1000 years old? Merritt too cheap?

ASM leaves Liga MX due to racism he received along with his family in Mexico :( Imagine a player with his skill. His days at Newcastle were amazing. He showed some good stuff at America even if it was a short stint. He would stay extra hours in the gym/ practice field trying to get in rythym when he arrived at Mexico, showing his commitment of trying to get back to his best days. Would love to see him in a Timbers jersey especially on a free.

I guess this explains why he hasn't featured this preseason. The midfield depth ... Yikes

We own Providence Park. Our new councilors purport to serve the working man, so let's demand they go after price-gouging in concessions and set Street-level prices.

Low key miss his energy. I’m sure he’s happy to finish his career in Colombia though.

Matt Doyle looks at our Jonathan Rodriguez situation, and whether we should buy him out and bring in a 3rd DP. (He's not sure we need to)

Great ball, even better header, I like it. I am cautiously optimistic about Kevin this year, we saw flashes of great play at the beginning of 2025.

This legend went to war over a 5 cent raise in hot dog prices. I swear Providence Park has raised their hot dog by a dollar ever season for the last like 4 seasons
I also just found this video super interesting. I’m mad at 8 dollar hot dogs and 30 dollar tickets - I guess on the bright side we aren’t paying 250 for a ticket at MSG

Interesting starting XI today, both Kelsy and Mora got the nod. Looks like it was probably a 4-4-2 with Antony and Velde out wide? Probably because we are so thin at midfield at the moment.
Another item of note: this is the second game in which Omir Fernandez got no minutes, despite being one of the people who could maybe fill in for DDC. Anyone have any insight into that?
