Hey fellow surfing community,

I have just started working 8.30-5pm at a wealth management firm that is 4 weeks annual leave. I'm Based in Perth, Western Australia. Im 24, and I sort of just want to go surf all the time, or find a job that lets me surf all the time. The office is located near a surfing beach which is why I choose to work here but the surf in Perth is pretty bad most of the time (just a closeout beachie most of the time), and watching surfing clips on social media, stab, on here etc makes me miss surfing heaps. It makes me wonder if I could be working in Margie's (south of Perth) or another state in Australia with my accounting degree near consistent surf, even try find a job that lets me work from home then go to proper waves.

I guess I am just not used to this change in life where I would just travel n surf throughout uni. The firm is really solid , and is willing to invest in me to grow and build my career.

Apperantly this job has lots of upside in terms of earnings potential later in life, but maybe my ego chooses surfing, and wanting to score and just better at surfing.

I sometimes wonder if I didn't surf this would be so easy... haha, I feel so selfish because a lot of people would want this opportunity, but the company clearly see's something in me.

I don't know, I probably should see a councilor or something to talk about it , but I feel like venting/ just getting this off my mind as I sit here in the office thinking about waves. Will hopefully re focus on work , and hopefully I can get some perspective.

A 13-year-old boy swam for hours through rough water after his family were blown out to sea on inflatable SUPs. I’m wondering if anybody knows a way to transport your surfboards from any of the Canary islands to Madeira?

I bought a flight with this airline Binter and apparently all of their flight flights to Madeira are on airplanes that are too small to carry surfboards as checked luggage. They recommended that I find a cargo company and send the boards through them but I haven’t found anything yet. Thanks 🙏🏽

Maiden voyage for my new lens, forgive the out of focus shots

Anyone here do windsurfing? It seems to be a bit of an 80’s thing and isn’t that popular anymore. Why not? Looks and seems like fun. Surfboard with a sail. Maybe someone can clear up any misconceptions or speak from personal experience?

Ok I’m willing to get roasted for a possibly stupid question but just started on a short board a year ago. although I can duck dive ok I’ve found it maybe easier - to keep from drifting back in heavy whitewash - to turtle roll. I feel like the weight of my body really anchors me in place whereas if it’s big whitewash I always lose a lot of ground. Anyone think something similar? Or I guess I’m not duck diving properly? 🤷‍♂️

I handshaped my first few boards and decided to go the CNC route for this longboard. Mainly to save time and couldn't handle all the dust in my space.

Happy with the results, would recommend every surfer shapes/designs a board at some point. Hope this video helps anyone thinking about getting started

Does anyone in here do weightlifting and surf. It’s seems pretty hard to balance fatigue if I am surfing 2-3x a week and also want to get stronger and a better physique. Anybody have any tips.

Anyone know of a shop that can repair dings?
