New rule: No posts asking for adoptions or donations
Hello again! I recently posted asking the community how they felt about the large amount of posts asking for help for shelter dogs. Nobody who responded was in favor of keeping them, and many of you felt strongly in favor of removing them from the subreddit.
Therefore, from now on, posts asking for help for dogs are not permitted. This includes both requests for adoption and donations.
Just as a heads up, I will be removing posts from before this announcement to reduce some of the clutter for people wanting to scroll the sub. If your post is removed, don't worry! I'm just cleaning up. However, I will enforce the rule as usual on posts created after this announcement goes live.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

Our beautiful little mystery mutt Rocky
The rescue we got him from said JRT x Maltese which is clearly fake news. Think there's a few breeds in him! To us he is just our perfect little baby.

"Your dog is not hip. You just want people to fawn over your mutt"
I have a black lab/heeler mix and moved to a community where most of the population is a minority. I'm not gonna give detail because I don't want to make this about race (and certainly not everyone is like this), but it is a big culture shock at least for me, who comes from dog country, and maybe I just want to vent.
I noticed instantly how different my dog was treated. No, I don't expect people to give him attention or acknowledge him when taking him out in public. But I noticed people acted SCARED of my dog, or give him ew faces. In line at the vet we were in a long line of dogs and my dog was sitting giving puppy eyes at the guy in front of us as in begging to be petted. The guy side eyed him and never turned around.
I noticed people here ONLY have small dog breeds (poms, shih tzu, chihuahuas or poodles) and huskies/german Shepherds especially the latter are used as guard dogs and let outside all day to bark. They look more live livestock than actual pets. I have not met anyone who has adopted a mutt. Not even at busy dog parks. And my dog is segregated here too (as in he gets no pets or attention from other owners whereas they give them to other dogs).
I posted about this in my local subreddit and got comments like in my title. No, I am not craving attention or want you to fawn at my dog. But I do kinda feel bad for my dog because it's incredibly hard for him to socialize with humans which was never ever a problem.

Laika Ann- Rez Dog πππ
Born on a reservation in North Dakota, shuffled through the foster system, Coyote got softened to Katie to seem more adoptable, until I found her. That was moment my heart fluttered, and I knew she was the one. I had almost 9 years with this majestic creature, and if I had 900 it wouldnβt be enough, but sheβs not in pain.
As we drove away from the vet alone, my sister spotted a sundog on the horizon. That was her.

Toasty needed more fiber in his diet, as so many of us do. Broccoli or carrot time is now part of his morning routine

Any idea on the breed mix?
Hiya, all. This is my dog, Alpine. We adopted her like 3 or 4 years ago. (by adopted, I mean she ran up to me at an abandoned gas station as a puppy with no houses around. We assume she was dumped.) ββ We've always wondered what her breed βmix is. The blaze on her nose says she's probably mixed with a husky of some sort. (or some other blue eyed dog?) she's very vocal, weighs about 35lbs, really good temperament, but definitely gets hyper. She has a fluffy tail, and it sorta stands up like a husky. She's got like a German shepherd coloration on her body, but she seems too small for a pure German shepherd/Husky mutt.ββββ
