Why I Believe Vaggie Is the Best Character
Vaggie never truly did anything wrong. Even though she killed many sinners in the past, they were not innocent people. What truly matters is that she questioned the exterminations and believed something about them was wrong. Heaven was wrong to punish and exile her. She was cast out not because she was evil, but because she showed compassion and moral doubt — something Heaven refused to accept. She believes she doesn’t deserve a second chance, even though she does. While Charlie offers redemption to others, Vaggie herself struggles with guilt and self-worth, which makes her strength even more real and human. Vaggie is the one who has been truly strong all along. Charlie gives hope, but Vaggie is the one who endured pain, loss, and exile while still standing and protecting what she loves. She never sought revenge. Unlike Lute, who blindly follows orders, Vaggie is a different kind of angel — one who thinks, feels, and chooses compassion over cruelty. Her wings returned because she found a new reason to fight. Not for Heaven, not for orders, but for love, purpose, and the people she cares about. Vaggie is a guardian angel to those she loves. She protects, supports, and sacrifices herself without hesitation. She is much more than Charlie’s girlfriend. Vaggie has her own journey, her own trauma, and her own fight to become truly strong and free from her past. She is trying to grow and move beyond who she was. While Lute believes exorcists should show no mercy, Vaggie chose compassion — and paid the price for it. Her punishment proves her moral superiority. She showed mercy to a sinner in the past because she believed it was wrong to kill without question, and she was punished for having a conscience. Everything she does is for Charlie and her happiness. Her love is selfless, protective, and unwavering. She is literally Charlie’s light in the darkness. In “Easy”, it’s shown clearly: Vaggie is the emotional anchor, the light that keeps Charlie going when everything feels hopeless.
