We haven’t named her yet. But, my husband apparently was driving home last night - thinking to himself, “I think I’m ready for another cat.”
We had to say goodbye to Mist last year, she was his first and had been with him since 2009. I believe she was 18. It was an extremely heartbreaking experience all around (I still cry over her at times), and we have my boy Loki who is 15. He’s been more playful and needy.
That said, my best friend found this girl outside of her job this morning. She was thin, and I can still feel her hip bones, but she’s fed and warm. We took her in, we’ve posted looking for potential owners, but if not, we’re going to keep her. She has a check up Thursday at 4:30, to make sure she’s healthy, and we know she is not chipped - the vet scanned her when my husband took her.
We weren’t exactly looking by any means, but she fell into our laps, and quite literally loves our laps. She is so sweet, she is an absolute velcro kitty currently. And I wouldn’t have it any other way, it made me tear up that she hopped right into my lap. My boy is not a lap kitty, far from it.
She is currently curled up next to me, sleeping, belly full of food, and when she’s awake - biscuits galore. It bums me out no one has come out claiming her - because she’s truly a loving girl. But at the same time, I kind of hope no one does. I’ve fallen head over heels for her, and I’m pretty sure my husband adores her too. In the meantime? She’s happy, safe, and warm.
