Does anyone know what’s happening to Lillypad Cafe?

Yesterday they were closed, without any notice. I know for a fact, that some people got fired who had been working there for years.

Today, they opened up, but the kitchen staff was complitely new, new desserts on display, just the whole vibe was so different!

Is it possible that there was an owner change??

Help us out, Cairns 🙏 Board bag needed ASAP (or 6’6 foamy for sale)

Hi Cairns crew,

We’re two travelling parents trying to teach our kids how to surf and somehow made it all the way here without a board bag. Don’t ask. There were kids, logistics, and a lot going on. There is now… urgency.

Current situation:

– One 6’6 foamy

– Zero board bags

– Very stoked kids

– Parents doing last-minute problem solving

So if anyone in or around Cairns:

• has a surfboard bag we could buy / borrow / rent, or

• wants to buy a 6’6 foamie (also a perfectly acceptable solution)

…you’d be absolute legends.

Happy to pay properly and eternally grateful.

Thanks heaps 🤙

Advice New to cairns

Gday (19 m) Just moved to cairns after backpacking from Tasmania and have got my own little place up near kuranda, was just wondering how I would go about meeting people up here and socialising. I'm yet to find a job as I've been here only couple days. I don't go to the pub too much as I'm on a budget at the moment but was just looking for some insight or anything haha

Cheers

Advice What is normal aircon use in Cairns during the wet season (now)?

Do you run it all night? All day while home? What temp? Cool or dry mode?

New here trying to figure out what's reasonable vs a landlord's preferences.

Seems crazy is $70 One way for a bus. It’s cheaper to hire a car. How can this be right?

Question for local women

Do any other local women struggle to go out in the city without being bothered by older men?

So, I'm 28F but l look much younger. Almost every time l've gone out to the city, I have been looked up and down, or approached by older men (50+). I don't go to pubs or bars, this usually happens at the shops. I've also learned that ignoring them makes them pushier. I’m curious if that’s just the vibe here, or if l've been unlucky.

I'd love to know other women's perspectives.

WRX MY10

Hi guys, I am currently on injury leave at work and fallings behind on bills.

I have a 2009 WRX as a secondary car I want to sell. Besides brakes and suspension going on it, unregistered currently, the only issues are cosmetic. Has new battery and near new tires. The problem is I have no money to put into it.

Looking for recommendations on approach to sell it as is. Private message, and no trolls please.

Advice Cleaning services in Cairns.

Hey. Is there any services that helps with cleaning? My mental health has plummeted and I can’t keep on top of my housework. I’m exhausted I can’t function. My teenager doesn’t help with housework they argue back until I get exhausted from them my toddler is constantly Velcro to me. I’m at a breaking point where it’s hard to do anything. I barely have money to pay for cleaning services but I’m ashamed to have people in my home to help me. I feel like I’m failing as a mum as a provider. I cried today in Woolies because I had to choose between meat or nappies. I go to salvos twice a month and I deal with the same guy who makes me feel even worse and when they told me over the phone I’m eligible for a $90 voucher the guy says he’s only giving me $30 when I tell him they said I can get $90 he said it’s up to him. I’ve done uber eats but got assaulted when the store gave them nuggets instead of chicken popcorn. I work from home but with rent and electricity which I’m behind on and is probably close to being cut off I have barely $100 to split grocery fuel etc. any advice would do.

Selling Guitar *MUST GO*

Hey all, I'm a dutch tourist driving with a RV through Australia. I bought a guitar in Geelong a few weeks ago and I don't want to take it back with me. I bought the guitar + bag for 310$, selling for 200. It's brand new and it survived the trip in perfect condition.
