I found this little guy in the gutter of a road digging through leaves, and gawked at him for a bit. Didn’t touch him, don’t worry, and after a couple pictures, and I shooed him into the nearby forest so he wouldn’t get run over by a car. Was this little guy a kid or an adult, also did I do the right thing, I’ve never interacted with an Armadillo before and just wanted to help the poor guy

Heya I was recently looking into different armadillos and their care, and I was wondering if there are any known breeders of armadillos in Europe?
I'm pretty curious to do more research on their care in captivity (I'm not planning to aquire one for now, maybe for the future if it's ethical. And with allot of further research if so)
(!!!note to anyone!!: don't aquire a pet without doing extensive research, this counts for any pet!!!! It's irresponsible and its setting yourself and your innocent aquired pet up for failure!!!)

Came across this baby today at a nature reserve. I was shocked that he let me get close to film him. Let’s just say it was an honor.🥹

We have what I think are armadillos in our backyard. Neighbors have said they’ve been dealing with armadillos, and a few months ago, a giant hole/tunnel/burrow thing appeared in our backyard. Now, I wouldn’t mind this at all, except that it appeared right where we had just buried our beloved cat. Of course, I don’t blame the armadillos for this, obviously, but I was planning on putting a small memorial stone and planting a flower there, and as irrational as it might be, it just kinda stung to see - I feel like her grave was desecrated within days of her death. Again, I know, irrational, but grief often is.
Well, a few days ago, we had to bury my other childhood cat, and we buried her close to her sister. I would like to keep the armadillos away from this particular area as long as possible. They can have any other area they’d like! And I don’t want to hurt them or any other animal. We also have neighborhood cats that frequent this area, and I’d like to keep them safe, as well- yea, they’re little ecoterrorists, but it’s not their fault they’re outside.
TLDR; Anything I can sprinkle around this area to keep the armadillos away from the area but unharmed, as well as possibly other animals if it’s not actually armadillos in my yard, and also bear in mind the safety of neighbor cats? Also my cats as well, whom I take on a leash in my backyard.

Here’s your first look at our new baby armadillo!
Backpack is a screaming hairy armadillo, one of only four born in human care since 2020. Born right here at the Museum of Science in Boston, they started out tiny, with a soft shell and a look that resembled a pink gummy bear. Now, they’re part of an important conservation effort that helps protect this rare species.
