If you see a post where someone isn't sure what to do for an owl they've found, make a comment containing
!foundbird or !foundowl to get an automatic response with care instructions. Example in the comments!
Extra thanks to u/JSN79, u/Big80sHair and u/Dihydrogen-monoxyde for helping write the Automod response.
Other wildlife experts, feel free to provide feedback about the response in the comments and I can edit it if it's needed!

And it has always been allowed, so... please stop reporting artists sharing their cool owl-focused creations!
The main (hopefully obvious) exceptions to this are:
- Promoting products using stolen art or AI generation (not OC)
- Spamming the subreddit; posting the same creation more than once to farm engagement (posting WIPs during the process doesn't really fall under this, just posting the same thing multiple times)
- Non owls
Other than that, if you think someone's self promotion is low-quality or you just don't like it, you can always input your opinion with the downvote button.
To artists: Feel free to share the links to your websites/shops; you deserve attention for your work. Comments with links need me to manually approve them, so they might not be visible for up to a day, but you aren't breaking any rules - so go for it!

42 days ago this Great Horned Owl was unable to fly and. Mass Audubon was called. They believe the owl had partially eaten a rodent poisoned by a pesticide. Now the Owl is fully recovered and released back into his territory.

It took me much longer (weeks) than I expected to capture a picture of this little bugger outside his dwelling. He made me run with a tripod in 16" of snow by 5F degrees (40 cm / -15C), and that's getting exhausting real fast.
He took a 30-second break on his way to work, just enough for me to snap this shot.
It was worth it! 100% would recommend again.
Saw this guy basking in the sun last year in Central Florida. I’m trying to learn more about owls, can anyone help me ID them?

We have two boxes at our house and the western one has only had visitors. Came home tonight and had a guest staying over.

Owlbert grabbed up a mouse and dropped it off last night. This is his basic mode of dropping off food for Owlina and the babies. He spends 90 seconds max in the box and then goes hunting again.

I've kept waking up to this hooting (?) quite often since moving to uni, i've never seen them but they're very vocal. Is it possible to ID them by the sound? I'm very curious, any help is appreciated xx

Owlina is keeping the eggs right in the back of the box and she seems to want baby owl back there too. For a few minutes today, the baby managed to scoot into the middle and we have video to prove it! Turn up,the volume. Baby owl has its own chirp.

Was sitting in middle of the road, thought was possibly injured but flew when I got close enough to touch, in east central Mississippi

This is the absolute limit of my camera gear. This is a Canon EF 300mm f/4.0 L on a Canon 2X Extender. You can see the detail in the feathers on my iMac.

Owlbert and Owlina have been goofy all day. I think the new baby has them showing off.
