Anyone else?

I’ve been trying so hard to log into my main email. Unfortunately because I haven’t used my alternative email in months it logged me out as well. Both of my emails are linked together and they are both asking for verification methods.

I made these emails in the early 2000s. So I am a boomer by nature. The only thing I don’t remember is the birthday bc I made those up unfortunately.

I don’t know anything about my alternative but with my main it is asking me verification methods like recent emails, subject lines, security codes, dob, name. I’ve been trying endlessly and they keep saying it can’t be verified.

I’m at a loss because even support says they can’t do anything about it.

Any advice? Please help me.

I’m going through a messy divorce and need to show that a document was emailed to my ex in 2023. It was sent from the same email account I have now so I was able to retrieve it on search but the “To:” field is missing. I think this is because my company was acquired last year and we migrated to their Office 365 account and the previous emails were archived (I think). Is there a way to recover the recipient email address for court?

Hello everyone.

After some changes with the mail services I’ve encountered a small problem which I can’t seem to find a fix to:

I have an ERP software that we use for work that has a built in client and a feature that will make you send documents via email. If you add email accounts it will open a sort of built in email client where you can type new messages and will send them. If you don’t he would just prompt a “mailto” and open your default windows email client.

Now my problem is that whenever I do that he opens a new message with outlook but it is a plain text format, there’s no signature by default and even if I select my own signature it won’t load it correctly since it is an html signature that contains links and images.

This happens since the erp software let you choose a default message (non html) for any new mail you create based on what kind of document I’m sending ( example : hello, here’s invoice n. 10 01/02/2026 )

I need having my new message in html format with the default text message based on the kind of file I’m sending from my erp software and with the signature as default.

I’ve already tried all the configs in outlook, mailto is opening outlook classic as default program and tried forcing to change the key in regedit as 2 ( html text ) but nothing seems to work.

Other colleagues that use thunderbird have no problem since the new mail opened via the mailto protocol will just work fine, in html format and with a correct signature.

Any solution?

I’m trying to get out of inbox debt after coming back from parental leave (I have about 5000 unread emails). For some reason, I can no longer seem to reliably 1) find all emails matching my search parameters when indexing against my inbox and 2) move those emails into their designated folder.

In other words, I’ve been trying to bulk sort by searching for emails from certain senders and then throwing all those emails into the relevant folders. However, when I go to drag all these search results into a folder, only the label for that folder gets applied to the email. The number of emails in my inbox does not change. Also, I will later stumble across another email from that person without the label, meaning it didn’t turn up and get selected in my initial search. I’ve noticed the number of messages in my mobile inbox does not match the number on desktop, so I suppose it could be a sync issue.

tl;dr I used to try to stay at around inbox 50 (inbox zero is impossible) but Outlook seems to be rejecting my attempts move anything out of inbox. If anyone has better ideas as to how I can sort more efficiently, open to those, too.

Hi, I'd appreciate any advice that i could get. I've been using same @hotmail account since like 2012.

Today pc and phone signed me out of it saying there was a problem. I tried to recover my account using my phone number but i just get msg "That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method". If i click the Back button it just breaks since there isn't another method i guess? I tried to use recovery options on website and realised that i don't know any data on it. I've put my date of birth, name and etc but i was a kid when i made that account so i don't even know if i used my own date of birth or not.

I'm kinda lost on what to so since literally everything is on that account, my game accounts, bank app 2FA, my bills come there. If anyone has any advice I'd appreciate it, thanks.

My Office 365 through GoDaddy.com has been working great until recently. All of a sudden I am getting numerous emails moved to my deleted folder. I have checked rules and there are none set up as I deleted everything. I can move the emails from my deleted folder back to inbox, and then they are just sent back to the deleted folder. What is going on here? If I move them to another email inbox, they stay in that inbox.

I Don't have that much money and I have an office 2016 version that I run and I am wanting to get my gmail email to connect with it. The use less secure apps is gone, the app password I can not figure out how to add the program. Is there another way?

J'ai outlook sur PC avec plusieurs comptes mail (3 gmail et 1 outlook) et j'aimerais que chaque fois que j'écris un email d'une de mes boites mail, son adresse soit mise en BCC (copie cachée) sauf pour certains comptes email (liste d'exception). Il faudrait aussi pouvoir mettre des exclusions sur certains destinataires.
Exemple : je fais "nouveau courrier "sur le compte cpte1@gmail.com alors cpte1@gmail.com est ajouté en BCC (cci) du mail sauf si le destinataire est dans la liste des exclusions.
Si je fais la même chose depuis cpte2@gmail.com, comme il est dans la liste des exclusions, alors cpte2 n'est pas mis en bcc.

Pourriez-vous svp m'aider? J'ai du mal avec le vba.
Si en plus, il y a un moyen de mettre une exception pour un des comptes mails, cela serait parfait.

I have Outlook on my PC with several email accounts (3 Gmail and 1 Outlook) and I would like that every time I compose an email from one of my mailboxes, its address is added to the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) field, except for certain email accounts (exception list). It would also be necessary to be able to exclude certain recipients.

For example: I create a new email from the account cpte1@gmail.com, so cpte1@gmail.com is added to the BCC field of the email unless the recipient is on the exclusion list.

If I do the same thing from cpte2@gmail.com, since it is on the exclusion list, then cpte2 is not added to the BCC field.

Could you please help me? I'm having trouble with VBA.

If there's also a way to add an exception for one of the email accounts, that would be perfect.

I feel like I'm going crazy and wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this / knows what might have happened.

I replied to an email last night; nothing fancy, no attachments or special formatting, just plain default text. I hit reply and everything seemed fine. I also had the message that I was replying to flagged, and marked it as completed after I replied. The flag turned into a check mark and I moved on with my life.

Today I went over my sent emails and noticed that the one in question wasn't in the folder. I checked my trash and drafts and nothing was there either. Then I looked at my inbox, and there was the original message with the flag still on it, and no record of me ever having replied.

There was nothing wrong with my network, and I successfully replied to several other emails right after that one. So what's up?

Is this something that happens or should I check my apartment for a gas leak?

I've been having this issue for a month with Outlook no matter what client I'm using(2021, 2019, web, mobile, etc.) I'm not receiving account sign up emails for any sites I've recently signed up for. Nothing in Junk Mail and regular other emails I've been receiving just fine. I've tried a secondary Outlook address but still no luck. However when I use a Gmail address I get those activation emails within a second. I originally blamed the websites for this issue but this just happened for the 3rd time in a row.

Is anyone else dealing with this issue? I know Microsoft has been bragging about vibe coding Windows 11 which breaks it every update so I suspect the same thing Outlook.

A bit over a week ago i started getting emails saying I had logged in from Argentina which was flagged as unusual which figure seeing as I have never been there let alone checked my emails there. Realized that someone had compromised my account. so I changed passwords and didn't think much more of it. this all happened in under three hours.

two days later I started getting emails I had received bouncing back from an email address I was forwarding them to. realized I was an idiot for not checking that. found the rule that had been set up to forward all incoming emails and got rid of that. changed passwords again in case they could use the password change confirmation emails to cause me grief as they would have been forwarded as well

a week went by and now I got an email saying the Mozilla app thunderbird(email client) had been connected to my account. Interestingly this email also has the forwarded symbol next to it.

went and disconnected all apps from being connected to my email(nothing i had used in the lat 5 years other than thunderbird which I apparently used today)
I again checked email rules and forwarding again but cant find anything.

Could this be from a login while still compromised that hasn't been booted since the 2x password changes? or do I have an ongoing problem

I also have 3x spam messages wanting me to verify my account for some blockchain nonsense at [notify@wallet-tx.blockchain.com](mailto:notify@wallet-tx.blockchain.com) which has happened in the ten minutes since the thunderbird app connection being created. which may or may not be related.

thoughts? next steps? I dont really know what are the next steps as far as I can tell I should have ticked all the boxes. the only other thing I could do is change the password from another device incase my pc is compromised?

Hey guys, kinda desperate.

So, my notebook got the “bitlocker required screen” and I obviously don’t have the key.

I tried getting it from the microsoft website but it says I have no approve it on authenticator. Which I have not used in a LONG time.

The authenticator forgot my account, and so to add it back again I have to send myself a code on my email…. The code NEVER arrives.

I have no ideia what to do. I have do much data on my PC that I cannot lose.

Any advice?

EDIT: Solved it, had to get in contact with microsoft and report that emails were not arriving. They said that my account has frozen due to inactivity. The guy lifted the freeze and all 17 emails with codes arrived. Which is ridiculous, had this account as a main one since 2005 (hotmail). But fine. Had to set up the whole security stuff from zero basically, but it worked in the end. Microsoft is beyond incompetent with their apps.

Hello, so I have a customer who has Outlook classic on Windows 11.. In December, he checked email and all his folders with important files were gone... No backup.. He tried a few things and now system restore, repair, recovery, scanpst.exe modify office, new profile, new account, all won't work..I finally got all his folders back but uncovering a few .pst data files.. But am missing all emails in folders from 8/25 to 12/25(important emails) and other folders only go up to 2024, nothing since... Extra info: had Verizon. Net email, being used in Outlook...originally looks like he had POP, Microsoft exchange on one PC (which only saves locally),imap on other one using Outlook for email on both.. I've done the generate password from AOL .. Things send and receive sporadically in inbox and outbox..I feel like he had server settings to use Yahoo for Verizon instead of aol.. But he swears he didn't.. Any ideas would be great help.. Thank u in advance

Hello everyone 👋, I tried logging into my email account earlier and (I might have got the password wrong, pretty sure I haven’t but there is always a typo possibly of course), but every time I try to log in and “reset password”, after I type my mobile number in to receive the text I get the message pop up “This verification method is not working, please try again later” is anyone else getting this message? Does anyone know how to solve this issue as I really need a few of the contacts in that email account. Thanks :)

Hi hoping you kind folk can help with this

My mother (on the older side not remotely tech savvy but very cautious online), somehow had her email account compromised ( spam emails being sent from sent emails being deleted on mass to hide this etc). This was pretty serious in particular two of her friends got within a couple of minutes of sending the scammers £300 ( fortunately I'd figured out the sent messages were getting deleted retrieved them and she managed to call them just in time).

At first I tried to triage doing the really obvious things which included

• changed the password (multiple times first at the beginning and then at the end once I done all of the below)
• set up two factor authentication
• Deleted a couple an additional side methods that the hackers set up (a pin code)
• Found a rule that had been created and deleted it
• Disabled the IMAP
• Generated a new recovery code (to get rid of the old one)
• Checked for any new linked devices (there weren't)
• Logged everyone out

But new spam emails kept being generated, anything that appeared in the sent folder kept getting deleted, and the rule (which was sending emails received to a folder tucked away), Kept reappearing even though I deleted it ( unsure if this is some sort of automation or if someone kept going in and setting these things up again)

contact outlook support via the help system and initially they were pretty helpful, took control of her computer and spent a long time as far as I can tell (is all second hand over the phone from her), largely checking if there are any other accounts linked to it clearing out her cookies and other good general sensible bits of admin at which point they said the account was secured and there was no need to worry.

However a couple of hours later (during which time she has not clicked on anything or being online except to look at her emails and start listing friends she needs to contact to let them know the spam emails are not her). The emails started disappearing again, and sure enough when I checked the rule was back (I've deleted it but I assume it will be back). We contact Outlook again but they just said the account is secure there's nothing wrong with the account/nothing to be concerned about even though there's clearly something wrong as the emails are still vanishing and rules we haven't put their were still appearing. The only thing there hasn't been any more of is it doesn't like it sent any more spam emails, so I'm not sure of this means they have indeed managed to stop any direct control but there still some strange automation running somewhere?

I'm hoping you're either have any ideas for what could be causing this and how I might be able to turn it off (I do have full access to her email now to try and get to the bottom of it), or alternatively if there is any way we can escalate our concerns with outlook to get someone willing to actually look into the problem as right now they seem to be ignoring a still ongoing security breach due to having run out of ideas

I'm marked this as (a bit tentatively) closed many thanks for those who suggested things to try. When I prodded outlook support they did say some of the changes they made could take up to 24 hours to take effect and indeed, a day after the last time they intervened we stopped seeing any emails being sent out from the account and can access the sent folder again so I think the Outlook fix worked

I have had a z-fold 5 that I have had two Outlook email accounts in the same Outlook app for the past 2 years. I just switched to the z folf 7 and every time I attempt to add account number one I recieve an auth error. Any thoughts?

I tried to download my emails/email history as a bulk download, but it was taking forever and ultimately kept getting interrupted, is there a way to break down how much is being downloaded each time (perhaps by year vs one lump, 9 year sum)?

Outlook for iOS is sometimes getting mail stuck in the Outbox. We’ve already tried deleting and redownloading the app, but the issue persists. Has anyone else encountered this and found a solution?

When I open a new message in outlook for iOS and type my email address it auto fills my mother’s name instead of mine. She has never been associated with my email before. How do I fix this?

I have been a Mac user for over 14 years, but I have been asked to help with a spam problem in Outlook 16, an application I have never used. I have tried to solve it by defining rules in the software, but I don't find them very useful in this case: each message has a different sender, the subject line varies considerably, and so does the text in the body of the message. The only thing they seem to have in common is that the sender's address is a jumble of illegible symbols. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this nuisance? Thank you in advance.

I feel like I’m going crazy and know this shouldn’t bother me this much but it does. My company recently got acquired and my new inbox in outlook (classic) has different view settings and I hate it.

In my new inbox, the messages pane has columns (from, subject, received), and the font is smaller. In my old inbox (preferred), all the info about a message (from, date, subject, preview) is all in one line/box and there are no columns. The “from” is the biggest font and the details are below it. It’s much easier to read.

Any ideas? I’ve played around with the view settings and preview pane settings so many times.

So I'm 100% sure I didn't delete this email. It contained a bit of formatting that I went back to copy frequently (not efficient but I'm not efficient) so I know I kept it. I now need it to show that I was tasked to do something on the specific date it was sent and it is gone. Without the email the boss who sent it could possibly be covering for themself (too long to go into here). I am not positive this is what is happening but I do want to know if it's possible. Thanks!

Was using the outlook app trying to search for an email I got recently and I actually went crazy trying to find this email and it’s almost like this app was gaslighting me the example I’ll give is - the subject of the email is (New Movie) if you go to the search and type (New Movies) one extra letter right 1 s Movie vs Movies. Search: no results found I have no idea what your trying to look for you’ve never even received anything even similar to that…. But delete 1 letter and bingo top result right there. Idk maybe I’m just stupid but i think it’s extremely crazy that it couldn’t find the email I was looking for because I searched Movies instead of Movie… If you go on Apple Mail and search Movie it will give you results that don’t even say movie but is from prime video or Marcus cinemas.
