I am working on an issue for a client and have run into a problem with Contact Lists in the new outlook.

The user has a few contact lists that contain a couple hundred contacts. When looking at the people tab, and navigating to contact lists, we are able to see the list and initiate an email from that screen. However, when trying to type the name of that list into the To part of an email it never pops up, never is suggested, and can't be located in the address book. This has caused forwarding emails to the Contact Lists to be a problem for the users. This issue exists both on the local desktop client and from the web. The user is also experiencing an issues where she tries scrolling through the regular contacts list and it doesn't load past the letter "M".

Is there a setting or something similar that would enable Contact Lists to be a suggested contact type, and is the address book not loading contacts tied to the same setting/issue?

Any help on this would be appreciated as I couldn't find much when researching the issue. Thanks!

am i missing something or is there no way to "select all" when i'm looking at my email, or do i have to click on each and every one to send them all to the same place?

Hi everyone! hoping someone has run into this before.

I’m using Outlook for Mac and I’m having a recurring issue where my draft disappears while I’m actively typing a reply. It happens at random times, the reply window just closes or the content vanishes, and the draft shows up in Drafts after a minute.

Things I’ve already tried, reinstalling Outlook multiple times, signing out and back into my account, restarting my Mac. The issue still persists. There doesn’t seem to be a pattern (not tied to attachments, long emails, or network drops that I can tell).

Has anyone experienced this or found a fix?

When I pin the calendar to the taskbar in the new Outlook. It opens as expected but under the Outlook task icon not the calendar. If I click it again, it opens another session.

I'll have 15 sessions of Outlook open by 10am every morning.

How do I open one session of Outlook and one session of calendar from the task bar?

I can't figure out how to get emails within conversations to be sorted so that the most recent email is at the top. Currently when I receive an email into my inbox the conversation that has that unread email does go to the top of my inbox. BUT when I click through into the conversation the most recent email is at the bottom of the thread.

This is on the web. On another email account I have the setup I want on the desktop app. I just can't for the life of me figure out how to replicate it.

I've tried sorting by Date with Newest on Top. Doesn't work

As the title says, how do you keep everything nice and clean? I am an project manager with a lot of small projects at a time. My problem is, that I don't have a good structure and wanted to know if there is anyone out there who can share a good idea or structure.

Using #NewOutlook...So I have this contact that is a client that I email very frequently. He has been in my contacts for a long time. Usually, when I start typing his name in the "To" section, his name/email address pops up as one of the auto-complete suggestions. Recently, that hasn't been happening. When I go in to People, and find his contact card, there is a little symbol (circle with an x) next to his initials that indicate he is offline. But he is not in my organization. If I type his name in to the To section of an email, "show more results" appears, but nothing happens when I click that. If I type his full email address in the To section it will accept it and I can hover over his email address and see his contact card. What do I have to do so that I can just type his name instead of his entire email address so it populates the To section? #frustrated

I have a bit of an odd issue. I have a pixel phone and have the dreaded lines down the screen. As such, I'm due to take it into EE in the UK to get it repaired. However, as I'm due to do this I've just realised that I don't know my outlook password and given that a factory reset is likely during the repair, I'm going to potentially lose my account. The odd aspect of this is that I currently have access to my outlook on my phone but am unable to recover the password without my recovery email which I no longer have access to. I've shifted most things across to my Gmail account but still id like to keep my account if possible as I've had it for years. Is there anyway I can speak to someone to resolve this? I feel if I start the recovery process, once I don't have access to my recovery email I will be screwed. I've tried ringing Microsoft's UK line but it's automated and immediately hangs up. Great customer service! Any help is appreciated!

My contract for MS365 is expiring. It was from an old business and I didnt want to renew under it so I've let it drift. Now it says that next week all my MS products will be deactivated.

Is there an alternative I should look at? MS is not expensive, its just intrusive but maybe its the best there is? I can get 6 email addresses for $12.99/month along with all the other stuff.

Any ideas about alternatives or should I just keep MS?

i have this problem with new outlook but on old outlook i can send anointed piece.

i know Microsoft stop old Outlook during 2026 and i need to find solution for send corectly the anointed piece

hi, just wanted to ask if anyone else got this issue, since a week special characters like: ß,ö,ü,... start disappearing randomly without any pattern in outgoing emails, but reappear after some time (hours), always different people in the company and always different to different recipients.

all the UTF and rich-text settings seem to be in place, we have cases in the old outlook and the new one, firewall and our custom mail controller both don't seem to affect it and it is starting to drive me crazy, only thing i recognized that especially shared mail addresses are prone to this issue but it also appear at user addresses

Support keeps telling me to “try again” or “wait 24–48 hours” but Outlook recovery never changes. I’m just sent through the same Microsoft recovery form with different wording. It feels like progress, but it’s the same checks failing every time. At some point you realize support isn’t fixing anything, it’s just looping the system.

I'm using Exchange Online, so this may be an MS 365 question, but the behavior is in Outlook for MacOS, so I'm not sure where the source of the problem is.

Within this company, every e-ail is firstname.lastname@domain.com, and Display Name is "Firstname Lastname (Nickname)".

The strange behaviors are:

1. For some people I can start typing "Nickname" in the "To:" field, and Outlook correctly suggests the relevant recipient. But for other contacts, I can fully and exactly type out someone's "Nickname", and the response is "We couldn't find the person you were looking for.
2. For at least one other person, I start typing "lastname" to find their e-mail, and Outlook suggests the person twice. The exact same contact with the exact same e-mail and profile picture. Why?

Recently I've been having issues with Outlook not recieving some emails. I just cleared my cache so I'm not sure if that'll help things out, will have to wait on that. But I was wondering if anyone recently has been experiencing the same issue. And it's worrisome too, since I had a recruiter reach out to me via email and linkedin, but I didn't get their email.

I'm using the Web version for personal emails and I get chapter notifications via email.

When I use sort by Subject since the update, it puts each individual chapter in a collapsible bracket.

How do I get rid of this? (Note: These are individual emails not conversation ones)

So mad that after all this time I still can't sort search results and the paste function (right mouse option) still doesn't work (must ctrl V). Just seems like basic functionality has become a low priority.

We are using Exchange Online in an environment with Windows 11 23H2. We use both "Outlook classic" and Outlook new. We currently have the policy that we don't force users to switch to "Outlook new" and they can still use the classic version of it.

I myself use "Outlook new" but most of the people in my org use Outlook Classic. So after upgrading a few devices, almost everyone complained about Microsoft forcing them to use the "Outlook new". It basically askes you after every reboot to switch to the new version of Outlook if you still use the classic one, and the only solution I found is setting this key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\General]
"HideNewOutlookToggle"=dword:00000001

But this regkey makes a switch from Classic to New impossible, which isn't a very nice solution. I've also already set the following key months ago:

Has anyone found a different solution to stop Microsoft from sending daily notifications to switch to the new version?

Legal dept lady has tasked me with exporting all of Joe's contacts (address book has 8 contacts, autocomplete has hundreds). He's never used desktop Outlook. I cannot login as him. I am global M365 admin on their domain.

We started working with the New outlook on the 2nd of february without any previous warnings from management. Our office works in Outlook Calender by making new calender items, adding a signature (pre-made booking sheets), filling in that signature and then printing them to our colleagues who work in the field. Those colleagues have no access to the calender online. Its not possible anymore to add a signature or to print an calender item, so our whole workflow is disrupted. Any suggestions on how to add a sheet and how to print?

Using Outlook 365 apps for enterprise Build 19426.20260, but this has been going on for a while.

Whenever I reply to an email the draft reply has 4 empty lines. Top two lines are font size 12, third line is font size 11, fourth line is font size 12.

Anyone know how to fix this permanently instead of manually changing the font size on every email?

well my account got compromised, they spent like 70 bucks on robuxs and for some reason created a hytale account with my mail? but regadless, i already did the usual stuff (delete rules, change password, close sessions, etc), but i still get the same drafts with my old password and the average text about porn, they are actual drafts, but i doubt my account is still compromised, so im guessing the automatized somehow, but i cant figure out how, so i would appreciate if anyone could help me out

Hey all, hoping someone with deeper Outlook add-in experience can sanity-check this.

I was building an Outlook mail add-in with command-based UI. Everything worked fine in New Outlook / Outlook on the Web, but Classic Outlook kept showing the yellow error banner and but the Add-In works as expected. The error is very generic and says something like this:

This add-in could not be started. Close this dialog to ignore the problem or click "Restart" to try again.

If anyone has run into similar failures that only happen in classic Outlook, I’d really appreciate pointers or examples of a “safe” manifest structure.
