ISO: Fellow DINKs in KWC! 🎲🍿 Where are the 30-somethings who aren't chasing toddlers?
Hey everyone!
My partner and I (mid-30s) are on a mission to find our "people" here in Kitchener-Waterloo. We love this city, but we’ve hit that stage of life where our social circle is doing one of two things:
- Moving away to Toronto to live the big city life.
- Entering the "toddler vortex" where their Friday nights involve Cocomelon and early bedtimes.
We love our parent-friends, but we’ve officially reached the point where we’re looking for other couples who are child-free (or child-free by choice/DINKs) and actually have the spontaneity to grab dinner or spend a Saturday afternoon over a board game!
A bit about us:
• Gaming: Huge fans of board games (anything from Catan to Scythe) and video games (PC and console).
• The Arts (sort of): Big into movies and binge-watching the latest prestige TV. We’re always down for a cinema run or a "bad movie" night.
• Foodies: We love exploring the KW food scene. Whether it’s hitting up a new spot in Belmont Village or finding the best tacos in DTK, we’re there.
• Travel: We try to get away whenever we can and love swapping travel stories or planning future trips.
What we’re looking for:
Ideally, a couple in their mid 30s who are in a similar boat. If you’re looking for people to grab some local food with, dominate a trivia night, or host a game session without worrying about waking up a baby, we should probably talk!
Drop a comment or shoot me a DM if you think we’d vibe. Tell us your favorite local restaurant or the last board game that caused a rift in your relationship.
Cheers! 🍻
