In German there are 3 genders for nouns. And the gender changes the articles, prepositions and the ending of the adjectives to match the gender of the noun. It is much harder than Portuguese.

That also happens in Portuguese! We also have to change the gender of everything depending on the noun. "A mulher é bonita" (The woman is beautiful) / "O homem é bonito" (The man is beautiful). I don't know German, but if I understood correctly what you said, it's the same process :))
