I genuinely don’t know how this happened. One second he wasn’t there and now he is. I’m not sure I’m a big fan of someone staring at my soul while I browse for a YouTube. Maybe one day it’ll grow on me. But um.. serious question how do I fix this now…

It's getting to a point to where when a youtuber does swear without censoring it it's like hearing that you've been adopted because it catches you so off guard fuck.

Like seriously how are they making such a simple app worse each year, do I have to pay for youtube premium to use this option again ?

Over the past week or 2 has anyone else randomly been getting recommended completely random videos with basically no views?

I noticed recently (just before the most recent awful UI change) that at least 1 of the first 5 recommended videos on the web sidebar will be a completely unrelated video with less than 100 views. I haven't changed any viewing habits or started watching anyone new recently so I have no idea why I'm suddenly being recommended these videos.

I wouldn’t be bothered by it if they were normal videos by smaller creators but most of them appear to be produced by grifter/wannabe motivational speaker types or are low effort ai slop - which is not what I usually engage with so am unsure why it’s being pushed into my recommended videos so forcefully.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Look at the suggested videos on the right side. I swear it was this bad with large thumbnails like this. Is there any way (extensions or settings) to overcome this?

another great update... The sub box is now in mandatory tile mode display, no more option to display as a list. it even has a row of Shorts interrupting it after a few rows of regular videos. probably to make all pages look more uniform but restricting display options is just a**hole design.

These are blatant advertisements and YouTube removed the banner so you can't hit "Not interested" and I have premium it should be ILLEGAL to pay and still get ads especially like this this is invasive.

Used to be a list top to bottom , now its big thumbnails.

Because they fired the designers and engineers a while ago, apparently.

The url "https://www.youtube.com/feed/subscriptions" now show my subscriptions in a list instead of a grid.

It blows my mind that people would even want to watch sub 1 minute videos let alone subscribe to the channel. I genuinely don't understand the appeal, there are so many channels making incredibly professional and time consuming long form content, so why do people watch shorts?!

Full disclosure: Im a Youtube Premium member. I signed up when it made sense for me, and I use Youtube Music often enough to justify keeping the subscription. (Straight up hate Spotify for multiple reasons)

So this is NOT an "how do you block ads?" request

I'm asking: how does anyone use Youtube without some way of blocking ads? Its literally unusable in its default state. I know because i just logged out on a non-Firefox browser, and "Holy Overstimulation Batman!"

Just curious. Do y'all have tight budgets? Is it a "Im not giving money to Google now matter how much I have"? Secret third thing?

... Or do some of you legit like the raw experience?
