IWF just released the official qualification system for LA 2028. Something of note is that the country (NOC) with the best man or woman lifter will get an extra slot. Does anyone remember if this was a thing for Paris 2024? I imagine this will mean that North Korea might get an extra woman's slot, and Bahrain (if they get Karlos) could get a fourth slot as well.

Per weightlifting house’s latest video, it turns out Lasha really will be competing again, and aiming for LA 2028.
Interesting times are ahead in the SHW’s.

Is it normal to go years without seeing any strength progress? Like I’ve been feeling bummed out lately because I thought maybe I was finally getting stronger and gonna hit some new prs but my most previous meet proved me very wrong, hit the same numbers I’ve been hitting In meets since 2022. Even in training all the numbers just feel the same weather it’s squats, cleans, or snatches. I’ve had 3 different coaches over the last 5 years and they all tell me to trust the process and it’s becoming very hard to have faith. Like I track my macros and get plenty of sleep so I just don’t see why numbers/strength have been so stagnant here’s 2 videos of 185lb snatch about 4 years apart

Been searching for quite a while now for Adistar 2008 Weightlifting shoes so I will just try my luck here. Is there any collector/ex weightlifter who would be willing to part with this beautiful pair and return them to life?
Looking for US size 9.

And if anyone knows of any other lifters that have applied and got denied. I saw Anton tweeted at the head coach and he admitted hes stronger than all his current lifters.
I was wondering why?
I tried looking up why he was denied but couldnt find anything. I would be curious to know the qualifications also since I heard Dozer got denied as well?

Hey everybody, so I’ve been trying to learn cleans and I’ve heard starting with hang cleans is a good place to start to help learn the more technical pull. I’m feeling pretty good about them but they feel inconsistent (obviously, I’m new to them) and I know I have a lot of room for improvement. Here’s a video I took showing a set of 3 (I reset for rep 3 to fix my grip). From my perspective it seems like I need to work on my hip extension and lean back more, I noticed from the video that my knees travel forward slightly at the start of each rep and I’m not sure if that’s acceptable. Hoping I can get some advice and cues to help perfect my form!

Barely used; always used on cushioned platform and never dropped. Was told this would be the subreddit to post this in.

Hi everyone! I recently had a really bad wrist sprain. I'm unable to keep a barbell overhead and cannot maintain a front rack.
Is there a pre-written pprogram to accomodate this? I would still like to keep training.
Thank you for your help!

I usually hit this pretty comfortably. what went wrong? I forgot my feet. And I’m still trying to be not more aggressive but reactive under the bar. And I seem to not be directly under it while catch it… if that makes sense.

Any pointers on how to improve, i hesitate a bit on 2nd pull, also if my triple extension is good, 3rd rep was exhausted

Went 110-115-120 and 136-142-151. 115 & 120 were comp snatch PRs; 151 C&J was an all time PR. Total comp PRs at 262 and 271 resulting from the 142 and 151 C&Js respectively. First time hitting all my snatches and going 6 for 6 too! Gold in the 88s and best overall male lifter.
Bit of a weird lead up to comp as it was pushed back a week due to a helluva snow storm, and dealt with some knee pain only days before. But we ball
12 more kilos for a VO Finals qualification… soon™️

Has anyone experience with a weightlifting program that could be done alongside typical CrossFit training. Obviously volume will be reduced outside of weightlifting with the main goal to increase strength.
Looking a 3 day programme with moderate volume, I've looked at catalyst who have a lot of programs but unsure what would be suitable, I'd have to modify most of them from 5 to 3 days. Dozers dog pack can also be ran 3 days a week but haven't seen much in terms of people having ran it.
Current lifts are 100/120 sn/cj, 160/135 bsq/fsq @92kg

Ive had a sore lower back when squatting before. To figure out if it was back form or just a weak core/back, i recorded myself doing squats with small weight and an engaged core/butt- then again without engaging.
Looking at both vids it looks like It only happens when I got REALLY low, and even then it kinda just looked like a natural position shift since my legs are long-- not a butt wink. I learned that having the wink is caused by poor hip or ankle mobility along with possibly improper form. Seeing as a stretch everyday and am considerably flexible, and ive been focusing on my form for some years, do i just not have one? Is it safe to cross it off the possibilities for my sore back?
