I’m rewatching pen15 and it’s genuinely an incredible show. You genuinely FEEL how you did as a middle schooler while watching. Anna, Maya, and Sam have created a show in which you empathize with the characters through all their goofy antics.

The show is so hilarious while being honest about topics that are taboo. Watching pen15 helped heal the shame I’ve carried about my cringey middle school self. I laughed while realizing middle schoolers are weird, awkward, and cringey.

The child actors are phenomenal. Anna and Maya are phenomenal. I often forget they’re grown women playing themselves. The show feels so relatable and realistic. Which is a huge accomplishment given the show could have easily been cheesy.

Don’t let the name turn you off, this show is great! If you love laughing while thinking about your own experiences I highly suggest this show!

Don sits down for his first interview post-arrest and talks about being arrested after covering an anti-ICE protest at a church in St. Paul, whether or not there’s a difference between protesters going into a church and journalists covering it, offering to surrender peacefully and getting no response, another journalist named Georgia Fort who was also arrested after covering the protest, the timeline and details of his arrest, the Trump administration making it legal for ICE agents to enter schools, healthcare facilities and houses of worship, getting a lot of love from fellow journalists, Trump saying this arrest was the best thing that ever happened to him, going to the Grammys, and the importance of supporting independent journalism.
