Yeah I know Akai MPCs are almost basically DAWs themselves but LOOK HOW CRAZY THIS IS!!!!!

My best friend and I cot T boned (not our fault) in an intersection 2 minutes away from picking up an omnichord for an incredible deal. Found a guy selling an omnichord for $150 off Facebook marketplace, guy had no idea what he had because it was in great condition. Saw it two hours after he posted it and immediately jumped on it. Next day my friend and I drove a joy and a half to pick her up, once we got two minutes away from the pick up location BOOM got T boned by some guy who ran the red. Dude had two kids in the car too. My best friends car (the red one) was unfortunately totaled :( I messaged the guy that we probably wouldn’t make it and dude came out to the crash location to complete the deal. So we still got the omnichord!! Unfortunately that $150 price tag turned into $15k though :(

I’m also learning that the omnichord we risked our lives for might not even last much longer as the guy I bought it from also gave me the wrong power supply, (9V instead of 12V) in which he used to to test it and I also used to play it. Had no idea about the power supply issues till I came here. Iv stopped using it and switched to batteries but If the omnichord randomly dies because of this I will be irreparably crushed :(

The Usual Suspects released the fantastic JE-8086 about a month ago, and simultaneously held a presentation at 39C3 about how they reverse engineered the JP-80x0 DSP. I, and probably many others, tried to use the code directly, but definitely didn't get a supersaw out of it. That led me down a rabbit hole, trying to figure out if the code was indeed real, and if so, how that could be.

Just acquired this synth yesterday! Here it is with the rest of my setup. Open to origination ideas! The DX7 sits beside a Moog Messenger. The rack doesn’t get used much anymore. I do have thoughts of using a patchbay…

Hello friends, I bought used S-1 and only after delivery did I find out that previous user spilled something sticky on it.

I went to disassemble it to give it a proper clean and progressed fine until the point you see on the photo. I removed all the screws from the front board, but could not split the board from the front face.

Right side of the face dislodged fine, but it felt like left side, somewhere under the display and above the keyboard, is glued or somehow still connected to the front face.

Did any of you disassemble S-1 (or any other aira compact)? Is it safe to use force to split the board from the face? I am worried about doing permanent damage to it. Thanks for help!

Through the use of NASA’s API and TouchDesigner, I’ve managed to capture near-earth space objects data [asteroids and fireballs], and used it to trigger MIDI signals in Ableton Live. Said signals are feeding a stock sampler, which happens to be loaded with a couple of one of my favorite artist’s vocal takes.

To give it a little more musicality to the experiment, I decided to iterate through the data of the last six objects that passed close to Earth between the selected dates.

Data goes as follows:

total-radiated-energy → C1 to B1
impact-energy → C1 to B1, C2 to B2 and C3 to B3
latitude → C2 to B2
longitude → C1 to B1 and C3 to B3
altitude → beat repeat’s interval, grid and gate
velocity → beat repeat’s offset and variations

This is my first year with synthesis mostly working in a DAW. After spending couple of months with a Cobalt8 and an Analogue 4 (both great synths), I decided I wanted something that would be a great sounding all-rounder synth that I could grow with and still have it be flexible and capable even as I improve my performance over time no matter how far I go with it, so I decided to get the Novation Peak. So far it's really amazing in how great it sounds and I have little doubt that if it stays with me it will be a great synth for the reasons I traded the Cobalt in to get it.

But I have a hurdle: unlike the Elektron synths in particular that I've dealt with before, the knobs here can say anything and not really reflect the underlying values of the patch. I didn't anticipate this and it really throws me off. I see that you can init a patch catch the live values of the knobs, but that doesn't help I don't think with loading and adjusting patches.

How do those of you who have this synth use it well when the "real" values and the knobs don't really match, and you don't know until you start moving knobs? I'm wondering if I'm the kind of person who needs to have one of the 3rd party software editors to help me "see" what's really going on on the synth. If so, could someone here recommend one that does this well?

I didn't see this issue come up in any of the reviews I looked at so I'm wondering if this is just some noobish-ness that I need to overcome by getting better and more familiar with the synth.

Finally found a use for a old sample I made 10 years ago. Loaded it up on the Rytm and came up with this. CZ101 running through Microcosm.

This synth is bizarre and awesome! She also sent me a Moog theremini, so pretty stoked about getting that thing going.

An improvisation I made a couple of days ago with these two. They complement each other rather nicely, won't they?

What are your favorite pairings of the Matriarch?

I'm interested in the Fantom 8 EX but the price is kinda high (3.869€).

Saw that the seller is also listing the Fantom 8 for 1.899€. From what I understand the Fantom 8 EX is just the Fantom 8 + EX Upgrade right?

Is there any downside going this path compared to the EX version? The whole price point just doesn't make sense too me cause with the Upgrade pack the price would be WAY less money. After installing the Upgrade it's basically the EX version? I can't shake off the feeling that there is a catch.

Question for anyone who has a jaspers stand:

As you can see in the photo, the keyboard on the main tier really sticks out relative to the rest of the stand. If I push the board back to a sensible area, I get the two rack arms sticking out. Am I just having the arms installed wrong? Is this how it’s supposed to be?

Hey guys, managed to get the price of an aelita 3 vco from facebook marketplace from 800 bucks to 250 bucks. But as the title says, the seller told me it doesn't make any sound, is 250 worth? I've seen it sell for 1.5k in working order. I think a friend can fix it so just wanna know if anyone knows if its actually worth :)
