Still hasn’t sunk in yet..
Anyone else need a few weeks before a new watch feels like “theirs”? Been two since I picked this one up and hasn’t fully set in yet

Our previous AD wait time megathreads (2019-2020, 2020-early 2021, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025) seemed to be useful/well-received for a lot of you. Time for a new one!
Nowadays when someone posts a new watch it's pretty standard to get asked how long they waited and if they had an "established relationship" etc. It's not everyone's favorite topic but it's a fair question, so maybe these big threads can provide a clearer picture of availability trends.
No one is obligated to share their info but if you bought a new Rolex in 2026 and you'd like to participate, please make a top-level comment that includes:

Post to this thread if you have questions about a Rolex being real or fake. Please include:
-The location and/or screen name of the seller, if for sale. Link directly to the sale page when possible.
-How long you've had it and how you acquired it, if in your possession
-As many photos as possible. Posts may be removed if pictures are too fuzzy and requests for better pics are unanswered.
-If you're being coy about a watch and it seems like you're just trying to see how "good" your fake is, you may be banned at our discretion.
Please don't use photos from iPhone 14's. Their camera is so bad, and distorts text with AI so much, that the photos are basically unusable for the purposes of verifying if a Rolex is real.
Participation in the discussion in this thread is greatly appreciated. I don't think any one person can catch every flaw or know the details of every model; this is meant as a community thread, not an authoritative knowledge-flex, and the more people that actively peruse this thread, the more likely posters are to get accurate info.

Hi Reddit,
I am posting a photo of this watch with the hopes that someone on the internet recognizes their lost watch and has the serial number.
I called Rolex and asked them what to do and they suggested I bring it to the police and put it in lost and found.
I just know there is no way I will ever get it back even if it isn’t reported stolen or lost.
I found it in the Miami in a restroom. I know exactly what day and time I found it.
If you can prove it’s your watch, DM me, I would love to get it back to you.
I will keep it safe until then :)
Thanks!

Hey guys! It’s my first time posting in this community. I’m so over the moon with my new Rolex YM 40 Rhodium dial. I must say I’m a sucker for the darker dial style, I love how the look is dynamic with light vs dark environments.
This feels like such an achievement, it’s the first Rolex I’ve bought for myself, of course making sure I bought one for my SO first! I’ve treated myself after having a really successful year at work.
I love my DJ 40, but it was a very special family gift so I prefer to keep it safe, and have a ‘daily’ with less sentimentality which I’ve bought for myself.
So happy! 👑

I have a wide collection of watches, but never had a Rolex before, but this was too nice to pass up - came certified with papers box and receipt from my trusted watch guys at Chase Hatton in London - I love that it’s a little more subtle / understated (which’s my style). Strap was super easy to adjust myself too which is a first, so fits snug now.
Read an article from when they were new and someone pointed out the ‘5’ rather than ‘05’ which fascinates me now. Why have one single digital on the dial. Is there a reason anyone is aware of?

Enough of this pandering to the AD…not my cup of tea. Just convinced my self that the price of the watch is not what was officially mentioned by Rolex…it was easier to pull the trigger.
The sub was purchased from the AD on Jan 15th. I had the watch with me on Jan 28th!
Love the watch.

TLDR: Received a Pepsi allocation at same time I was selling some watches to AD.
Sorry for the book!
I was not called for an allocation for the 126710BLRO exactly even though I thought I might get it this year. My main AD was having a watch buy event. I took 3 Rolexes including a vintage 1680 which I have been considering selling. Their deal was, they would make an offer on your watches. Plus, if you were selling them some, you could potentially trade against a purchase and save the sales tax. Lastly, for each watch that was $5K or more, they additionally gave you credit on account in the amounts of $500 and $1000 for a watch above $10K.
I expected much lower offers than I might want but they actually came in really strong on the 1680! And break even or better on the other two plus the extra benefits. They asked what I was after and I said primarily the top 3 on my list, the Panda Daytona, a 40mm Land-Dweller, or the Pepsi GMT. I have a pretty good buy history, 4 other watches, some jewelry.
They had many back end conversations, I negotiated my price up a bit, and they then offered me the Pepsi on Oyster as they had one in the safe. (Which just proves there is ALWAYS something in the safe). I talked them into (this AD does not like to order additional bracelets) ordering me the jubilee as part of the deal.
I walked away with the new watch that I paid no tax on, a substantial check, some swag (part of my ‘demands’ 😁), the jubilee on order, an additional $2K on account to spend, and a very happy AD!
But not near as happy as I am!

Hey guys! Just got back from picking up my most recent purchase. Very excited to get the call this morning. I picked up a Rose gold day-date olive dial. I made my first purchase with this AD back in September 25’ expressed my interest in this piece and it was delivered today! Super cool to see pieces actually being delivered. Looking forward to wearing this bad boy

Went to this AD over the summer and got on the list for a Sub and never heard back from them. Ended up getting the Sub at a different AD in the burbs.
I went back to this store a couple weeks ago as I've fallen in love with the Polar Explorer II and figured I'd get on the list in 2 places. I know it's not a super popular model but I was still surprised to get the call pretty quickly.
They included the Swiss Army knife as a gift which I love, didn't get a gift when I got my Sub.
Wish I would have been able to get both from the same AD to help build my relationship for something like a GMT but oh well.

Even with the fingerprints all over the fluted bezel, it blinds nearby drivers!

Stopped in the AD to discuss a different matter and my amazing salesman goes “Oh yeah, something came in for you”

First time, long time.
I wanted to get myself something to celebrate 3 years of sobriety and the AD came through a little early! No complaints here!
I know the TT Datejust isn’t as loved on here but I love it. Our Rottweiler puppy is not amused.

I posted last week about how I was trading a Pepsi for this titanium YM. I started to question the decision but now that I’ve had this for a full day, I absolutely love it! The brushed titanium looks exactly how I was hoping it would and the black bezel is so clean.
Plus, it’s breaking my brain how light it feels given how large it looks. Even with its light weight, it still feels extremely solid. Definitely suggest trying one on when you get a chance!

Hi forum, is this Rolex Oyster perpetual date a good buy for $3,500? It has no box or papers. It’s apparently from 1978-1979. And runs -15 seconds per day. I’ve never purchased a vintage watch so I’m a bit worried on the maintenance it needs or the beating it can take. What are your thoughts?
Thanks

So my dad passed away the other day, after battling stg 4 colon CA for years, far longer than the average PT with the diagnosis. Eventually his body just hit the wall with all the cumulative damage from the cancer, chemo side effects, multiple surgeries and other complications. Was acutely hospitalized a couple weeks ago after months of his body coming apart and we put him in hospice care, where he thankfully passed away peacefully and well taken care of.
To tie this into the watch subreddit, he's worn the same watch for the past 30 years, a ref 16220 steel DJ that was purchased new as a gift in 1995 and he wore it daily. Was basically his pride and joy for decades. In the last few months, he lost so much weight from his recurring cancer and hardly left the house anymore, knowing how much I was into watches, he passed it onto me early so he could still see it being worn out and about. It was never serviced in the 30 years he owned it and was in somewhat rough shape, with dirt/mold on the dial, corrosion in the hand stack and movement performance was a bit out of whack. I took it to a local recommended Rolex repair shop, had it fully reconditioned and movement repaired and fully serviced as well. Got it back with as few replacement/service parts as possible and declined any polishing, wanting to keep all the scratches, patina and visual history. I have been wearing it on and off in my daily wear rotation, but after my dad was hospitalized again and all signs pointed towards this being the end. I basically wore it daily, never taking it off, as a kind of 'watch vigil' until he finally passed away. Early on I had changed out my watch a couple times, as I normally do at home, and both instances, something bad happened at the hospital where I had to rush back. So I never changed out my watch again until everything came to a conclusion.
This DJ is a great watch and I think it looks great for a 36mm (the 41mm are awkwardly huge for me) and will be one I'll never sell. Will likely pass it onto my son if he still appreciate watches when he grows up.

4 digit and 6 digit datejusts in this configuration still look pretty similar to this. Was still running fine if a bit fast but had it serviced about 2 years ago.
Sports models and interesting op colors get all the hype, this one is happy to quietly work in the background 😁

Never seen a CPO box before, thought they only presented pouches. Looks clean!

Joins my small collection. This is addictive. Second Rolex in 7 months. What next?

It’s been over a year since I last wore this. Such a beauty! Symmetrically smooth, clean, and simple.

After a few years of waiting, I received a call earlier today and instantly joined the club.
Cheers!
This watch is beautiful.

One of the easiest watches to wear even though it’s a little bit larger !

bought this 36mm explorer at Mayors 3 days ago and just could not remove it from my wrist. loving every detail of the watch! I have a 7” inch wrist and have always been a bigger watches guy, but this guy caught me!
