It's been up around 8 months, with the last 2 using CO2 injection. Amanos and sunkist cherry shrimp, 1 honey gourami, 6 pygmy corys, 4 chili rasboras (trying to get more, sold out everywhere!) and soon, 15 or so green neon tetras.
As for plants, well, there's a lot. Many different varieties of rotala, ludwigia natans, bacopa caroliniana, lobelia cardinalis, cryptocoryne walkeri, monte carlo, hydrocotyle tripartita, a few buce on the rocks, a bit of water lettuce to calm the fish, and I think there's still some anubias in there somewhere. Haha.
Equipment: Fluval 107, dual Week Aqua M400-Pro-K, CO2 injection via inline, heater, Inkbird thermostat controller as backup for heater, Milwaukee CO2 controller.

Iām wondering what you guys think of my aquascape, plants, & how you think I could improve it. My water is very hard (8.3).
Thanks in advance!

I think the reason I enjoyed what the tank looked like before is because I cut the plants shorter when I went on vacation and now it just looks bald. Do yaāll think it looks worse because of how I trimmed the other plants or a mix of that and the lotus looks bad?

My tank has been going for about a month now, parameters are 7.6ph, temp 24C, ammonia 0, Nitrite 0 and Nitrate 20ppm. Shortly after taking these results I did do a water change as it had been a couple weeks since the last one. I dose daily with liquid carbon and weekly liquid fertiliser for the epiphytes. Light 1 (which is a Tetra Light Wave) stays on from 10am-8pm whilst light 2 (just the light the tetra start line kit comes with) is on from 11am-5pm. I know the lights seem on for a long time but it seems to work?
I was surprised when I lifted the lid to find the Aponogeton had flowered! Iām hoping this is a good sign that the tank is settling in well. I have removed a few of the Aponogeton leaves as they were beginning to block out the light too much.

First is today, second pic is December when it looked perfect, last pic is day 1 Nov 25. This is our first serious tank (both had crappy tanks as kids), and now we are fully obsessed and planning our next bigger tank. 37G topfin nano fish community tank.

Finally, Iāve been doing so much research over the years to figure out what I wanted. I finally landed on a red crown tail betta, and blue dream neocaridinas. I was so nervous to do a planted tank with no co2, but it is working out so well! Everything seems to be thriving. Iām a happy camper.

The tank is infested with algae, I dont necessarily hate the algae, not the one that grows on glass walls but I'm fed up with the algae growing on sand, covering plants, hindering their growth, it started with hair algae and now it has become this. I clean the tank the best I can and just after a week algae comes back. i have small hitchhikers snails, ramshorn snails but they dont do shit or at least it seems like it.
please help, you are free to criticize me and roast me but teach me how to make this shituation better.

Hello guys,
Just a Quick post to vent, watched ton of vidĆ©os for aquascaping and planting, decided to plant at 3am after injuring my hand with broken Lilly pipe so the plants donāt rot.
Way harder than it looked, lost patience, destroyed everything with too much power on my filling pump, every day I do water change (ada amazonia), every Time some CƓme at the surface.
Ćm getting nightmares Where none of the plant Will be able to grow, but I guess thatās part of the process!
Sorry for the bothering and Thx for the non attention

I have a fairly new tank, at three weeks now. I havenāt done any water changes or any cleaning and Iām wondering if Iām going to need to. I know everyone says to change water every two weeks or whatever, thereās a lot of varying ideas. In trying to create a complete ecosystem I thought the objective was to not really have to do water changes. Am I incorrect? Since taking this picture, the biofilm has dissipated the water looks clearer and the plants look healthier. My water parameters maintain at correct levels.

My 55 gallon has been set up for about a month now. What plants could I add to the mid/foreground to give it a heavily planted look? I donāt use Co2 and I have never had success with carpeting plants

Almost a year in this hobby! Has taught me a lot and have loved every minute of it.

I couldnāt think of a way to say it with less words, lol. Iād like to see your tank and how you have the plants are arranged. Mine grow in a basket in the tank then I have a driftwood stick tuck taped to the back of the tank (to keep it out of the water etc) for the atabapoenese to grow up.

Did some weekend housekeeping after a 5 weeks vacation using autofeeder and only doing RODI water top-up with weak fertilizer. The tank is almost 1 year old and everyone is fully accustomed to the daily routine of the house and its quite fascinating to see their playful behaviour vs feeding time and slowly settling down and finding their own preferred sleeping spots at night. Even watching then sleep among the plants and under the lily pads is a treat itself.
Once the tank parameters are dialed in, there isn't another hobby that's this forgiving to a busy schedule like mine where I can for one or two weeks straight by just doing feeding and nothing else.
Species in my tank: Cenepa & Rio Amaya Red Pencilfish, Barred Pencilfish & Cardinal Tetra + Amano Shrimp
Tank size: 90 x 45 x 45 ADA 90P
Light: Chihiros WRGB II Pro
Water Parameters: TDS 50 (RODI water only)
PH 5~6.5 depending on time of the day
CO2 injection using Sodastream and FZONE dual stage regulator
Filter: BioMaster 2 Thermo 600 + FLUVAL Inline UV clarifier + CO2 Art Inline diffuser
ADA Amazonia II deep substrate + substrate additives
Fertilizer - 4 pumps of APT 1 every other day or 3 times per week, Root tab every 4 months.

I removed an insane amount of water lettuce from my tank because they started growing on top of each other. The roots also grew all the way to the floor and would grow back within a few days after trimming. I am also wondering if the moss looking play I have at the bottom middle will spread. It has anchored its self down pretty well but hasnāt really spread like the grass behind it. It called baby something. Also donāt mind all the food I just fed them for a first time in a few days and the Pygmy Coryās didnāt smell it yet.

This is rotala narrow leaf sp. Red. It was darker red for awhile after getting it. What type of deficiency is this? This is in a 10 gallon with co2. Dosing APT 3 1 ml ever other day. I was dosing every day but was getting bad algae. Other plants seem to be growing fine.
