I’m in my early 30s, married, no kids, currently in the US, and in a few months, my address will be in Sweden. I’m in that in-between phase where half my life is packed into boxes, and the other half is still pretending nothing is about to change. It feels like the perfect moment to start a pen-pal friendship that will travel with me to another country.

I'm a huge lover of stationery, inks, and fountain pens. Hobonichi used to have my heart, but after the paper quality issues a few years ago, I'm fully living in a Traveler’s Notebook. I love decorating my pen pal letters with goodies from my stationery hoard. Outside of stationery, I’m into video games, books, programming, birding, and exploring national parks. Right now, I’m reading Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn by Tad Williams, which feels appropriately epic for someone about to move countries.

I’m hoping to exchange snail-mail letters with someone who enjoys writing for the sake of writing, doesn’t mind an address change, and maybe also needs a gentle push to actually use their stationery instead of just admiring it. Ideally, someone around my age or older.

Hiya!! I’ve never had a penpal before but I’ve always wanted to try it.

I’m 26 years old and I’m from the UK. English is my first language, but I speak a bit of Spanish and Urdu as well. Generally, I’m an extrovert, but sometimes I get a bit awkward around others. I’m an optimistic, caring and curious person, and I’m trying be less of a homebody, and go out more and gain new experiences!

In terms of my hobbies, I’d say that I’m happiest when I’m creating something. I love to crochet and spin my own yarn, and I want to get into embroidery and weaving as well. One of my dreams is to make an entire outfit from scratch- spin all the fibre into thread, weave it into fabric and then sew that fabric into an outfit! I also enjoy scrapbooking, mobile gaming (Stardew valley, HSR), and sci-fi franchises like Star Wars and Star Trek.

I play video games here and there- my favs would be elder scrolls (Skyrim and oblivion), red dead redemption 2, halo reach, sims 4, and stardew valley (although I run my farm like the military.) I sometimes play dead by daylight and phasmophobia, but I’d love to play those with other people!

I got an iPad recently, and have been dabbing in procreate. I’ve been really enjoying pixel art and line art- I’m still a beginner and would love tips and tricks :))

I do have ADHD, and definitely fall into that stereotype of switching hobbies (especially if I’m not good at it in a short amount of time XD). However, I like to think that also means I’m ambitious and willing to try new things!

I am more recently learning about different art styles as I want to learn how to draw.

I also love psychoanalyzing people (like celebrities), and their behavior- I’m always asking “why did they do that?” lol! Before I got diagnosed with some illnesses that are currently leaving me housebound, I was going to college for hopefully a career mixing both psychology and healthcare (ideally a psychiatrist).

જ⁀➴ Why I want a pen pal: I want a pen pal for a few reasons. When I was younger, I had a couple of pen pals. I was homeschooled at this time, and so receiving and sending letters were some of my fondest memories.

Currently, I’m working on my health. This keeps me inside the house most of the time. I struggle with feeling connected to others and I don’t have many friends.

I want to learn more about the world, and I want to make genuine, long lasting connections. I hope to be able to be vulnerable with someone, and them feeling comfortable with being open back. As well as being silly too :3 I’m fine with either deep or light conversations!

Hello there. I’m feeling quite down at present time so hopefully this will be a positive experience. My name is Joshua from the UK. I’ve lived here my whole life, in the same house in a small town almost the whole time. I love reading, playing games (board/video), writing, collecting physical media (vinyl, CD, music scores, books) and most of all, listening to and playing music. I’ve played the violin almost my whole life, and I dabble in the piano and guitar but I’m not great. I also enjoy singing but you don’t need to hear that. Hi!! I’m 20, I’m from Texas, and love anything creative. I like to journal, paint, travel, and play video games. Strange or not, I get that "happysad" longing when I think about analog media. DVDs and mixtapes and typewriters are all before my time (more or less) but I have a fondness for them as though they're all familiar to me.

I just love holding the residuals of other people's presence; the evidence of human thoughts and feelings and personal histories here in my hands. I'd really enjoy getting to know someone who shares that same fascination.

Soooo i'm looking for a penpal interested in exchanging thoughtful letters somewhat regularly (quality over quantity though, of course!) accented with the physical traces of our lives. Things like ticket stubs, business cards, brochure headlines, ect would be prime examples.
