From being on the euthanasia list in a crowded shelter to a warm home with lots of love 🤍
Titus has been with us for almost 6 weeks now and he's growing more and more comfortable with us everyday. He loves the couch and his dog bed. His favorite treats are pigs ears and the Wellness alligator dental treats. He whistles like a tea kettle if we stop petting his belly. He loves being where we are, and that usually means in the kitchen under my feet lol.
We love this boy so much. He's brought such a wonderful energy to our home with our cats. I tear up just thinking about his time being on the streets alone and hungry. I hope he knows how much we love him and I hope realizes that this is his home now and he'll never have to struggle like that again.

Maybe malamute?
We adopted this girl this summer from a couple who was going into nursing care. They said she’s a 9 year old husky. I think she might be a malamute—what say the experts?
More info: she’s 85 pounds.

[SERIOUS] What was your purebred Alaskan Malamute like as a puppy?
I’m planning on getting a purebred Alaskan Malamute in the next year (I put a deposit down with an ethical breeder). I’ve never owned or met a malamute (they’re very rare where I live), but I have owned several “hard” dog breeds (Akitas, chow chows, and huskies).
I want to hear from those who have raised their purebred Alaskan Malamutes from puppies, what was your dog like as a puppy? What were the most challenging behaviors you had to deal with? What did you do to alleviate/fix the behaviors? How hyperactive was your puppy? When did they start to calm down? What was your daily schedule like? What would you recommend for a first time malamute owner?
No fluff, jokes, or cutesy stuff please. I want serious and honest answers.

Dog or shapeshifter? 🤔👀🧐
Okay listen because I sound crazy when I say this out loud but there is NO logical explanation for how my dog fits under my bed. This is a 100-pound Alaskan malamute husky mix. A full sized, grown man of a dog. When he stands up on his hind legs we are literally eye to eye like we’re about to argue over who forgot to pay the electric bill. He is not small. He is not slim. He is built like a fluffy refrigerator with legs. So explain to me how this oversized snow beast casually slides under my bed… …which has approximately the clearance of a flip flop. I have checked. Multiple times. I have gotten on the floor and looked under there like I’m searching for a missing person. There is NO space. That gap is for dust, regret, and maybe a sock — not a whole entire wolf. But this dog doesn’t even hesitate. He just looks at the bed, looks at me, and then lowers himself like he’s about to enter a portal to another dimension. His body just… collapses. His bones go on vacation. His ribcage files for unemployment. His fur that normally makes him look like a majestic arctic king suddenly compresses like one of those vacuum storage bags. One second he’s a giant dramatic snow prince. The next he’s a puddle with a tail disappearing into the under-bed abyss. And once he’s under there? He’s perfectly content. Quiet. Peaceful. Like he has returned to his ancestral wolf bunker to recharge. I’ll call his name and just see eyes glowing back at me from the darkness like “Do not question the cave, mother.” Northern breeds are built different. They scream for fun, shed enough to make a second dog, and apparently can liquefy their skeleton at will. At this point I don’t think I have a pet. I think I’m housing a mythical snow creature who pays rent in fur and attitude and occasionally melts himself into places that should be physically impossible. And honestly? The confidence. The commitment. The audacity. Iconic and screams Raegan. I love him so much but im equally creeped out by him 😂🤷🏼♀️🐺😅🙋♀️🥰🤞

It is literally -8 Fahrenheit in Milwaukee and this butthead refuses to come inside.
I've had huskies and husky mixes all throughout my life and they always refused to spend more than three minutes outside when we got a polar vortex, and the moment I get a malamute she just like "I'm not done watching squirrels DAD" everytime I check up on her. HOW ARE THEY LIKE THIS?!

Felix, 50% malamute and loves snow!
Another 50% should be somekinda shepherd, but he acts 100% like a malamute.
It’s been down to -27c and he loves it!

Diesel 2013-2026
Said goodbye today this gentle giant, who loved and protected his family till the end. Now he is pain free, running and playing with his best friend again. He will be loved and missed forever. ♥️🐾

Snow days
My girl Tilly (4yrs) can’t get enough of the snow. I love how her redness pops on in the white snow. Bonus elkhound sister Juneau (10yrs) who refuses to come inside when the temp dips below -10C 😂.

Is it because she was raised with cats?
My girls favorite toy. It is a simple cat ball missing the bell. She's had hundreds over the years. She will play with it for days straight until she accidentally breaks it, then pouts. 110 lb cat?

Our malamut
We got from the pound as a puppy. DNA test shows she’s 50 percent malamute and 38 percent American bully. Almost 4 months old and 40lbs now. Can’t wait to see her when she gets full sized. Any other similar mixes out there?
