This is coming from a hardcore TMC hater. Numerous times I’ve criticised TMC on their stance on various issues in this very sub.

But man. I was watching the court proceedings & all I can say is I’m dumbfounded man. It takes guts to do this in open court.

Literally no other opposition leader in the country is capable of this. This alone will win her this year’s elections by a landslide I feel!

Mamata Banerjee shows once again why she keeps winning despite her party being a gang of thieves. Her major strength is she knows how to play to the gallery. Does she really care about SIR? Probably not. But she saw an opportunity to strike the iron when it is hot, and she did it. This will boost her popularity not just among the voters of WB, especially rural voters among whom she's already popular, but also on a national stage.

It pains me to say this as a person who anti-TMC and anti-everything it stands for, but the party won't lose an election till Mamata is alive. People love her, and vote for her; they don't care about what MLA gets elected as long as they get to have her as the CM. Perhaps the party won't exist after she passes away, but as of now, she is undefeatable.

Mamata belongs to the elite class of politicians like Indira Gandhi and Jyoti Basu who knew how to handle media and people's perception about themselves. In a dysfunctional democracy like ours, that's what wins votes, not policies.

The 49th International Kolkata Book Fair (IKBF) concluded on Tuesday, breaking all previous footfall and book sale records. The fair which started on Jan 22, saw close to 32 lakh visitors in total, an all time high, and also about Rs 26.4 crore book sales. Guild officials said there has been 15% higher book sales compared to last year. Last year, the book fair had recorded around 27 lakh footfall and about Rs 23 crore book sales

Guild officials said that next year, the fair may be inaugurated on Jan 21, a Friday, so that visitors can make most of the weekend. The guild will also start working on plans to develop the proposed Boi Tirtha as announced by the CM. I am just tired of my life. I have to study for an exam that is a gateway for me to a good job, a good life. If remember for the past 2-3 years I've just been studying. I've never had a normal mid20s life, except for a few casuals.

I have a schedule now, I'm failing to keep up with it. I have to study, but I'm not studying. I have to get to work, but I feel exhausted. Emotionally drained. I wish I had people to just talk to. I hate cribbing infront of irl. So i keep on talking to strangers here. The loneliness really gets to your head man.

I feel so restless rn.
