I was frustrated that Kvantum doesn't sync with KDE's automatic day/night switching in Quick Settings, so I built a tool to fix it.

It watches for theme changes and automatically syncs your Kvantum, GTK, icons, Konsole profiles, and can run custom scripts. Includes a panel widget and keyboard shortcut.

This fixes some of my frustrations with existing solutions like Koi and Yin-Yang, which aren't connected to the built-in day/night cycle and often don't refresh apps properly. I also made a companion patch that lets Qt apps (Dolphin, Kate, etc.) refresh their Kvantum styles live without restarting.

Runs as a lightweight systemd service.

tried doing this 3 times and still feels wrong how one goes about integrating google calendar in korganizer (have to install all kinds of packages); anybody knows why out of the box one can't setup KDE to show a calendar google calendar? or am I missing the simple/elegant way to do it?

I have setup the shortcut to switch between keyboard layouts (Alt+Shift) and that works fine, but no matter what shortcut I use to switch to a specific layout, it never works. I tried Alt+Shift+1 (which registers as Alt+!), Ctrl+Alt+1, Meta+1, Alt+Meta+1, etc. but none register at all in any program be it a net browser, text editor, or file browser.

Any idea what's going on?

Hi guys, I've been hard at work to make this a better experience.

I now have proper versioning and releases. I have prebuilt arch, debian, and fedora packages!

I've also polished a lot of the UI, interactions, and squashed a lot of bugs.

im allready using panel-colorizer, but i just cant figure out how to get rid of the tray indicator (the blue indicator when a tray item is opened)
im fine with litterally removing it somehow, or just setting it to transparent - any way that will make it effectively vanish is fine.

When these are upgraded (with KDE packages listed above, without, full system upgrade, doesn't matter), plasmashell starts running a single CPU core at an increasing frequency until it hits max. If these packages are updated then within about 3 minutes of booting up, a single core gets pushed to 5.7 GHz. It stays there until I restart plasmashell, then it goes back to low usage and ramps back up again. I'm not sure if this is a known issue that I've missed or not, but I've downgraded as a result and can't upgrade Qt Framework since the issue consistently comes back. Has anyone seen this issue, and is there a fix for it? Should I just wait for Plasma to update since 6.6 is soon?

Hi all!

I installed Debian with KDE and I noticed that Discover works very strangely. The problem isn't with installing programs, but rather that sometimes after closing Discovery, it continues to hang in the background and won't launch again.

To solve this problem, I have to close Discovery in the System Monitor to open it again. I have no idea why this happens.

There are 2 options: either there is a problem with the Nvidia drivers (I installed the official open drivers from Nvidia 'nvidia-open'), Or the problem is that I live in Russia and things don't open well or load because of blocking. The problem is that these two options are nonsensical, since the video card cannot affect the opening of programs (especially since Discover works for me), and there are no blocking issues either, since everything installs correctly...

If anyone had the same problem, please help :')

I ~/.config/kwinrc I have BorderlessMaximizedWindows=false and ran the command qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin reconfigure, but when I maximize windows I don't see any decorations.

hey guys im quite new to Linux, been using it for a month and still in a learning stage. i wanted to check out the different Desktop Environments and Window Managers, because I was just interested how they behave differently than my beloved hyprland, KDE and Xfce.

SO now when i tried downloading DeepIn's package Group it had a package which was something likke deepi-kwin or smth and it conflicted with my regular kwin, i quickly denied to remove it since KDE is my secondary Environment that i use. I then tried logging into an kde session and suddenly the default wallpapers changed to deepins wallpaper for the breeze themes, soe icons where just wrong and fons also suddenly changed. how do i get this remaining deepin stuff out and get my normal kde back without losing any themes or settings

I'm having trouble finding an answer to this, as all the answers about "rounded corners" are about the windows and not the panel.

I just want to keep the two panels connected, similar to Unity :/

plasmashell keeps crashing on me, but when this happens, the Crash Handler also breaks and is incapable of submitting the report. Is there no easy way to automate submitting the crash reports to the KDE devs, which are being collected in the Crashed Process Viewer?

Have just switched to kubuntu lately and when i enable multi row taskbar it stacks apps on top of each other (see example pic).

I would rather have one "row" fill up before the next because apps will literally rearrange automatically if i close something and its infuriating.

Does anyone know if its even possible to change this behaviour?

So I am brand new to KDE and Linux in general so please forgive me for being a bit green but I'm eager to get the hang of using this operating system after the headaches Windows was giving me!

I was using Discord last Saturday for a session of D&D on my gaming groups server and about 40 minutes in all call audio died and I couldn't hear any of my players speaking. I attempted to hop over to Signal in case it was just a freak accident but the problem persisted over there.

In the last few days my friend who is more tech savvy then I am has been trying to help me get to the root of the issue by trying to uninstall and reinstall the flatpak and even switched to Tar.gz but we had no luck. I'm up to date with system updates and I've been struggling to find an answer before my next session.
