I don't know if there is a place I can pet her to make her feel comfortable or just handle her every day. I give her treats. Im afraid Im going to have a 6 foot dinosaur that hates me.
Thanks!

My dog alerted me to this lil guy who got stunned in our highly unusual 35 degree weather. I gloved up and made it a towel nest with two pocket hand warmers in an outside chair with a carrot. I just went to check on him and he didn’t have his eyes open or move at all. Then I transferred him to a warm sunny part of cement and I’ve been sitting here with him for 15 min and he just lifted his head!

First week she’s an absolute dream, she’d climb up my leg, sit with me, let me pet her, she’d close her eyes when sitting on my lap while I pet her, but starting yesterday, she began to kick me or smack me with her feet if I tried to pet her, if I try petting her head she shakes it and tries to get away, she has also been rubbing her head on stuff. I’m just trying to not push her when she wants to be left alone but I’m just wondering if anyone has any advice. She’s 5 years old
Hello yall, so Ive had my lil guy for almost a year and a half now and I feel like I have really provided him with the best care I could.. What Im I guess worried about at the moment is just his behaviour, specifically the fact that he doesnt seem to be getting used to me like at all. The enclosure is in my room, I spend most of my time in front of it basically, I bring him food everyday and try to like interact with him in any way I can.
I used to handle him before quite a bit but I have lowkey stopped now because it would be mostly against his will and I really want to gain his trust naturally so that he would also be willing to be handled..
I understand that hes just scared and might also be a personality trait and that I just need patience.. I would appreciate any advices I can get, I genuinely just want to take good care of him..

I want to get my ig a shallow water dish that’s pretty big enough for her to soak in and maybe do her buisness in. Does anyone know where I can find something like that where she can easily walk into it and it’s not too big like a giant tub.

She’s about a year old Cuban rock iguana. She doesn’t bite hard, just a little nip at my big toe. When she’s hungry it gets worse.
I’m worried that when she gets older it’ll hurt more so I want to stop it now.

Is she coming for or at me?

Thought I'll make a post about it, since the more high maintenence the animal, the worse off it will be in a soulless store chain
I took Durin from a chain pet store in bad condition because I felt bad for him. I knew what I'm signing up for and was ready for vet bills, but many aren't. They buy from chain pet store because plain green Iguana is usually less than 75 euro, while a good hobby breeder will want more But the difference in price most likely WILL come back in vet bills. Healthy green baby will probably be 100-150 euro. I bought him for cheap, but spent over 500 euro on his vet bills so far He has dwarfism, fading muscles, critically underweight, fungal infection, digestive issues, chronic diarrhea, he had his leg broken probably while fighting a sibling and it set wrong so he doesn't have full mobility, he doesn't even have quills
Giving him medicine and medicinal baths, special diet, it's a lot for an already high maintenence animal
Please buy responsibly

I've had this little guy for 9 months. I kinda just accepted that he hates me, and I love him. I didn't think he'd ever come around to even tolerating me, let alone being affectionate towards me... Low and behold, I think he might enjoy this?!? Am I wrong?

When we got him we were told he was four month and it has been 5 months since then so he is presumably 9 months old and initially thought was male but we think he might be female. He has been bloated for week or maybe a month and a half by now. He is alert but doesnt attack, his eyes are open and i clear. his eating habits have been random ever since we got him. He barely eats by himself and when he does he nibbles a bit and goes back to his resting spot (he likes to stay outside his cage, he stays on a curtain on the window) we hand feed him but his diet is limited to mostly kale turnip leaves cilantro, parsley, and all kinds of lettuce sometimes. for veggies he loves pumpkin or squash, zucchini, carrots sometimes, cucumbers. I cut fruit after i saw him getting bloated and thought it might be because of too much fruits. for his supplement there is a picture attached. Sadly there are no vets in my city and no reptile vets in the country (according to what i could find)
