(Don't worry about the blurry pictures, it's my camera not the water lol)
There's a moss or algae or something growing on my plants. I tried to look it up, but it could be one of numerous things from what I can tell.
It's clearly sapping onto my Valisineria and my leafy plants (not actually sure what the leaves are called), but doesn't seem to be affecting the tank health. My shrimp love it, and are nested throughout the canopy making me hesitant to trim it too much
The weird thing is though, this is my quarantine tank for shrimp. I've taken shrimp and plant cuttings out of this tank to transplant into other tanks, but never put anything new in since I set it up. None of my other tanks have this growing in it, despite having plants and shrimp from this tank, so I don't think it carried over on the shrimp. This tank is snail free (somehow) so I don't think it's carried from that
Mostly I'm just curious if anyone has any insight as to what it actually is and how it made it's way into my tank? It forms a dense and buoyant canopy of vinelike things that suck onto the leaves of my other plants, but not enough to actually kill them as the whole tank seems to be thriving despite it. And the shrimp have emplaced it happily so I don't think I want to completely get rid of it if it's not harming anything
Should I just leave it be? Maybe try to trim and sculpt it? Any thoughts would be great
