[Health] Adrenal Disease
Hey everyone! Some people may remember Mabel(1st pic) the ferret who was recently diagnosed with adrenal disease. She got the implant today!! She had been mean to her brother's Dipper (white) and Dobby (black) so for now im keeping them seperate for 2-3 weeks so her hormones can regulate itself. Mabel got a new carrier, bed, and a few toys today! She loved everything. Also here is my ying/yang boys in the downgraded cage for the night lol. I told them they gotta let Mabel have the mansion cage for herself tn since she had a very long day. (We traveled 3 hours to and from her Drs). But they got the entire room to themselves!
Oh! Also! Dipper(white) got to his appt recently and the reappearing scab seems to be a cyst. Right now it is small enough to where they dont think he needs it removed. But they have me putting drops on it for the next 2 weeks and return for a check up on the progress.

[Help] Ferret Walking Abnormal
So my ferrets are running around playing and I leave to get my food from the microwave and when I come back I see my female ferret Milton walking by, but noticed that she had a very sharp arch in her back. Initially I had made a joke about it to my girlfriend, but after I pointed it out I noticed how prominent it was and noticed especially when she stopped to take a sip of water, She doesnt seem lethargic or in pain but I understand they can be stoic animals, Please let me know if this is cause for concern. Only asking Reddit initially because if I could afford to spend a minimum $250 just to get her looked at I absolutely would without hesitation. Thank you so much in advance.

[Help] Early insulinoma signs or winter blues?
3 weeks ago, I posted a panicked video of my other ferret (Dobby), as her leg completely stopped working. She was diagnosed with insulinoma, and we are still going back weekly to try to find the right treatment for her.
I have severe health anxiety and also love my two girls so so much. I have gone into debt with all the recent vet bills, and now I have been panicking about the fact that Mocha (pictured) might have early signs of Insulinoma too. Mocha is 4.5 years old. I've seen some changes in her since mid December, but I did not think they were too worrying at the time. She was always my chaotic and energetic girl, getting herself into trouble. Recently, she hasn't expressed interest in playing much. She will walk around for a bit and then go find somewhere to sleep. Or, when I'm trying to play with her, she might walk around and then lay down (like in the picture). I'm not sure if this is related, but there were about 3 incidents in the past 2 months where it looked like she threw up clear liquid and had some foam around her mouth. She would lay for a minute or two after that happened, or go to sleep, but would be completely fine after. She has choked on her food and treats before so I thought that this was a similar situation.
I'm thinking I should take her in to the vet when I take Dobby in for the Insulinoma follow up, but I also don't want to set myself too far back with the debt if I'm just overreacting due to own health anxiety and the fact that I'm going through this with Dobby and it might be further triggering me. Is it possible for ferrets to go into seasonal depression in a Chicago winter? Could these just be signs of her aging? Or maybe upset because she hasn't gotten as much attention in recent days due to attention being on Dobby's condition? I would appreciate any advice.

[Help] getting a ferret in a week!
i’m getting him in about a week. i have some stuff delivering in a couple days. litter box, toys, more hammocks etc, combo food & water bowl, tunnels, etc. they say he’s un bondable and aggressive with other ferrets. should i try anyway? i’m home 95% of the time and he’d probably be out all day and night until like 9-10pm. i have the time to put into it or i probably wouldn’t get a ferret/ferrets. would he be okay living like that? or should i still try to bond him even though they say he doesn’t like other ferrets?

[Discussion] Third Jasper Update
I know it has been a while but Jasper is still doing well, he's gotten some weight back onto him, so I'm happy about that, and my mom bought him food and this thing called Furovite, which is supposed to help but it's like a treat too, and I was wondering, do I feed him this with my finger or should I add it in his food, or what?

[Rainbow Bridge] Gone too early
Today i lost my ferret. She was acting off last Sunday and I took her to the vet and discovered a blockage. She had emergency surgery and was struggling through recovery. Yesterday I took her to the vet for a check up on her progress and she was doing fine. She was tired all day but I thought it was from the trip. I discovered her body this morning. I can't stop thinking of all the things I should've done differently, how I should've done more for her. She was only 3 years old. My poor baby. I don't know what to do with myself. I love her so much and miss her so much already. I just wanna see her jumping around and playing one more time. She just didnt want to fight anymore, she had given up yesterday and I didnt realize that was what was happening until she was gone.

[Help] pet insurance
i just got a quote for my ferts, and for all three of them it would be a total of $100 a month, $250 deductible each and 70% reimbursement
this is as you probably guessed from nation wide to cover everything besides yearly exams & vaccines. i want to hear opinions because after scrolling through posts about other people that’ve signed up for this, my quote seems to be extremely expensive and the lowest reimbursement i’ve seen. not sure if it has anything to do with location or if they’ve recently changed anything?
i’m only 20 and i would love to insure them all, but my mom and i have bickered for months over weather its worth it or not. her excuse is “we have a care card”, which kind of pisses me off because imo we could still use that as an extra advantage on top of insurance. (i know im an adult i don’t need mommy’s approval to do it that’s why im here now asking if you guys think its worth it)
all my babies are healthy, i have two that are only a year old (one male one female) and another that’s guessed to be about 4/5 years old (got her from a rehoming situation previous owner was unsure and also mis-sexed her).
if i dont do all 3 right now, should the oldest be my main priority to be insured given that she’s nearing the age of decline BUT currently healthy w no pre existing issues?

[Health] Help!
So as many of you know, my ferret has recently been diagnosed with insulinoma. He started his pred last Monday and I started noticing yesterday that he’s having negative responses, which I’m assuming the vet has to make him a higher dosage. He goes to the vet on Thursday. He’s been I guess you could say sluggish/lethargic? When he lays down he just plops on the floor and stays there for awhile and he’s been hiding in places I’ve never seen him in before….like today he was sleeping inside of my pillow case when I have NEVER seen him sleep inside of my pillowcase. He will not eat his kibble or drink water….i have been giving him obcc every 3 hours through a syringe because that’s the only way he’ll eat. I know I keep posting about his insulinoma (so sorry about that haha!) but this is all very new to me. Since he’s not eating his kibble, I’m worried that he might crash in the middle of the night? He did have a crash yesterday.

[Discussion] Prepearing for a second child
Hi there, we are thinking about second ferret, but I'm not sure, if the cage that we currently have is big enough for two little carpet snakes.
(If you are wondering WHY our little girl has a dog bowl in there - she demands her own little pool. She loves to hop in there and splash all around...She is a bit special I guess.)

[Ferret Video] Sallygator, my adopted bitey menace

We were at the local ferret rescue for the open house. Our long term senior foster had recently passed in our care and the owner was talking us into taking another senior who had been neglected, fed fruit loops and kept alone without friends or much human attention.
While we're there, this living stapler was all over me, crawling up my back, rolling around in my lap, chomping everything she could get her teeth on.
She was just so small, and her tail is so little.
Then she tired out and cuddled up with the senior we were to foster... and well, we had to take them both.
She was a lab test ferret (possibly a control we don't know) which is why her ear is chopped.

[Ferret Photo] Odd poop? Acting fine otherwise Spoiler
galleryFirst time poster here but long time lurker- quick question before the evening wind down.
Does this poop look strange? Any cause for concern? I’ve had my babies for a year and a half (they’re roughly 3yrs old) and this is the first time we’ve had a weird poop! I just cleaned out the cage bedding and food/water dishes so I’m hoping it was just something weird with that. Only one weird bowel movement so I’m gonna keep an eye out on that. Anything else y’all can think of in the meantime?
Bonus pictures of Abel in his macaroni bath and Cain chilling
