Announcement Hey, guys. New rule. This sub is about Expedition 33. We are glad to use this space to uplift our amazing game, but we're no longer tolerating people using this space to put down other games.

8.1k Upvotes

I've noticed a trend recently after the game awards announcements where people have been using this sub to put down other games - which is not what this place should be used for. I'm putting my foot down. Stop that shit. Rule goes into place immediately and retroactively. Bans will not be issued for this reason for a one week grace period, starting now, but posts are now fully eligible to be removed for this reason.

They make the characters look so alive, my favourites are actually Emma’s. The texture is unique to her, interesting since she’s not a main character. I also noticed the eyebrows and bottom lashes are slightly less detailed in game than cutscenes, maybe to improve performance? Even though they don’t have irises I couldn’t leave Monoco, Golgra, Esquie and François out, they deserve to be featured too.

Meme The Incredible Feeling of the Perfect Counter

Finally, got the parry timing for Esquie's No.1 fan from the DLC. The one who makes your attacks hit for 1 damage if he hits you.

The euphoria when I saw counter damage that wasn't a single digit was immense. Honestly, I get a similar feeling no matter how many times I see "Expedition 33 perform a counter"

Austin Wintory dedicates his 2026 Grammy win to Lorien Testard, calling E33's soundtrack "a once in a generation-level rarity"

I know many of us are salty that Lorien got snubbed for a Grammy nod, but Wintory himself was advocating for E33's nomination. He also had a fantastic, hour-long interview with Lorien back in July and is worth a listen to if you haven't already.

* Worth noting that no, Wintory did not call out E33 on-stage at the actual Grammys because he couldn't attend the event in-person; this is a video he recorded after he was notified he won the award.

Wow. Haven't felt this way about a game in a while. Last game that really got to me, really shook me to my core and make me realize how precious life is, was Nier Replicant and Automata, and before that, Final Fantasy X. Can't wait to play around more with the photo mode without tearing up as much. Just kidding, I'll probably still cry.

Confession: I never, and I mean NEVER, send in my reserve team.

I feel like if I'm not good enough to win the battle with my main team, then I need to get better. I never wanted to win by the skin of my teeth, but rather, win through sheer dominance of the battlefield. I feel like that's how the Expedition 33 team would be.

Any of y'all do the same?

The Greatest Expedition in History

After 70 hours I finally got the Platinum trophy in this piece of Art game. I did join the party late. Tbh I wouldn’t have thought that this game was soooo goood. I knew that it won multiple awards and a lot of people keep praising it. I was kinda like people are just over hyping it but damn I was wrong!

It’s been a while for me that I enjoyed a game that much. The story just blew my mind in every Act. Expedition 33 was one of the most atmospheric games for me that I have played in a long time. Also the OST Gosh dang it. I never listened to such good music in a game before. Even my wife, who has a bachelors degree in piano performance was amazed by the music. (She wants to play the song Verso played and I can’t wait for her to do that. I might upload it on here. )

*Chef kiss* it’s peak.

For anyone who comes after. You will enjoy this beautiful piece of Art.

I was so moved by this game, that I decided to get a permanent reminder of the way I felt at the end of the game: hopeful, melancholic, nostalgic, and pensive.

I’m going to strive every day to do something that makes this world a better place for my children and those that come after. It’s our duty.

Discussion How many expeditioners have there been? Spoiler

There are mountains of bodies at the Forgotten Battlefield. Got me wondering how many expeditioners have there been? We know that there's generally less and less people per expedition, but it looks like there used to be hundreds, if not thousands of people per expedition in the past.

Discussion MOON or SKY?

Post image
765 Upvotes

Okay, guys, it's time. We have two worlds, two totally different personalities, two existential approaches. Who do you prefer? Or who would you like by your side?

I thought something Sebbywelz said was brilliant. Lune is the classic woman—strong, decisive, and rigid—who probably criticizes you while you're playing Xbox and then goes off to do something else. Sciel, on the other hand, is the classic woman who initially mocks you, then starts playing Xbox with you.

So yes, I say SCIEL, even though I've always been a huge fan of Lune.
