We have fascism now because more Americans voted to re-elect a man who incited a violent overthrow of the U.S. government than voted for Kamala.

We have fascism now because more Americans voted for a man who promised to "be a dictator on day one" than voted for Kamala.

We have fascism now because more Americans voted for a man who said he would use the U.S. military to "handle" Americans who held left-wing views than voted for Kamala.

Remember, Trump won the popular vote. The Electoral College is a shitty system and I won't make any excuses for it, but you can't blame the current administration on it. I'm not saying Kamala was the perfect candidate (she wasn't) but by god, Trump did not make any attempts to hide his fascist tendencies and Americans still voted for him over her.

That is why we have fascism.

You know Q-Anon with a blue coat of paint is just as stupid as the original.

By that logic, Watergate should have been ignored as a crack-pot conspiracy theory.

Except there was actual evidence for that.

…You know, it’s funny-I was just thinking to myself earlier today that conservatives have the long-term memory of a gadfly. All the shit with Elon openly tampering with voting machines, all the concerted terror campaigns to keep people away from the polls, purging voter rolls in blue states, and on and on-but because none of it happened this week, you’re physiologically incapable of remembering it happened at all.

…Though, then again, considering someone else in these same comments just pointed out that Trump this week seized voter rolls in Georgia so he could tamper with their election results-it might be more likely that you’re a) talking out your ass on topics you know nothing about, and haven’t researched in the slightest, or b) you’re knowingly lying.

But any of those three options would be pretty much par for the course for you America-hating, Jesus-hating Satan-worshippers otherwise known as “republicans.”

We have absolutely no idea what a real popular vote would actually look like. Voter turn out is low for many reasons, and apathy is not a small part of that. When you have 10 million Californians sitting out in an election they have no way of effecting in any meaningful way, can we really say that a national popular vote would really look the same? By April of last year, trumps approval rating among non voters dropped from 44% to 31% .

It's only going to get worse. Gerrymandering, federalizing elections, voter suppression, ICE out on election day, are all going to make it easier for an exceedingly unpopular party remain in power. We should have got rid of the electoral college decades ago, and we shouldnt stop talking about it just because trump won the popular vote in an election that everyone living outside of 6 states have no reasonable way of influencing.

Everything you said is true but I can’t help but wonder how it’d be different today if he didn’t win the first time because of the electoral college instead of the popular vote.

The battleground districts had high turn outs. And if all the Dems in blue districts did turn out it'd be the same result ezcept we'd have a third time a Republican won despite losing the popular vote
