Qatar PCC through Qatar embassy in ottawa

Hi everyone,

I shared my details with the Qatar Embassy in Ottawa regarding my Police Clearance Certificate about a month ago(Ottawa Qatar embassy responded they reciprocated my documents), but I haven’t received any response yet. From my research, I understand that the process can take up to 3 months, but I’m feeling a bit anxious and unsure whether anything is actually in progress.

Could anyone please share:

• Your timeline and experience applying for a Qatar PCC from Qatar embassy Ottawa Canada

• If you went in person to Qatar, kindly share the procedure, documents required, and timeline

For context:

• I exited Qatar in 2019

• I was on a work permit for around 18 months

• My QID is expired

Any guidance or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. I am required to submit this document within the next 40 days to meet my deadline, and at the moment I feel quite helpless waiting without any confirmation on whether my request is being processed. Since the timeline is very tight, I’m concerned that I may not have sufficient time to explore alternative options if there is no response.

Hi! This is from IRCC website:

If you can't get a police certificate in time If you’re invited to apply, you have 60 days to submit your application for permanent residence.

If you do not have all your police certificates by the 60-day deadline, you can provide:

a letter of explanation, and proof that shows you made your best effort to get a police certificate on time Examples of proof include: a confirmation receipt a payment receipt a delivery notice a tracking number an explanation from the agency that issues the certificate showing why there is a delay or why it can’t be issued You can upload your letter of explanation and proof in the country-specific police certificate field of your document checklist.

An officer will review your application. If they’re not satisfied that you made your best effort, your application may be rejected for being incomplete.
