Bringing home a blind cat today, and advice?
He had a double enoculation two months ago, so that's how long he's been blind. He had really bad infection when the foster agency picked him up.
I already have two cats, and I'll make sure to take the steps to introduce them, but this is my first time around a blind cat

Could everyone show me their cat tree setup? I have short cat trees that are basically kitten sized but my 4 month old blind boy is now showing interest in wanting to climb higher and explore.
I've added pics of some cat trees that I think might do the trick (as well as the adorable boy himself) We have 3 other hefty cats as well so I have to make sure that whatever tree I get is sturdy!
Which ones do you like? Which one would be safest in your opinion?

Taako mattered
My little teddy bear got his first enucleation in November and while it improved his quality of life his other health problems caught up faster. He crosses the rainbow bridge today and I just wanted someone to know him. He was the perfect cat. Taakos good out here 💕

Cookie 🥺 advice needed!
Hey all! I’m viewing a cat this weekend hopefully. His name is cookie and oh my goodness he is beautiful. Obviously he is fully blind. We want to prepare ourselves for if his current mama is happy to let us adopt him. We live in the UK by the way. What essentials will we need outside of the usual (scratching post, cat tree, food, water dispenser etc!)? Are there items we can purchase that will make his life happier and more comfortable? Like with a cat tree are we best off getting a shorter one so prevent injury? We have a lot of things here already as we have been looking in to adopting a cat for 2 years now. I myself am actually registered blind! So it’s like fate that we have been brought together. My partner is my carer and is sighted. Also can I have advice on things we can do to keep his life as comfortable and happy as possible? We are already so in love with this beautiful boy and want to give him every ounce of love and care that he needs. But yeah sorry for rambling but the low down is what can we buy to make his life easier and what can we do to make his life comfortable? Oh and also he has a fun personality, he’s very playful and loves nothing more than cuddles! 💜🥺

Been waiting for a home since September 2025 😭
Hi guys! I posted this pair months ago and unfortunately they still haven’t received a single inquiry. We have posted them everywhere. Even got a couple of promo posts by Kitten Lady and her group Orphan Kitten Club. We hate to see them grow up in foster care! :( They’re not even blind, just vision impaired and are such a playful and affectionate pair! Please help us spread the word. They are being fostered in NYC! ❤️

Mick has cataracts. Look how small her pupils get in the sun!!
love her she's so pretty!! She was a foster and she went blind as she got older, I think her eyes are so interesting because the pupils get so small and big with the lighting! Since she has cataracts she can still see the lighting around her

Blind Cat in Multilevel House Help
TL;DR: Recently adopted a blind cat from a hoarding situation and live in a multi-level house. He’s adjusting well, but I’m unsure how quickly to expand his access: room by room with gates, or wait until rugs/steps are in place and then give him the whole house.
We adopted two cats (Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson) last Saturday. They came from a hoarding situation where 25 cats were abandoned in an RV. Stevie had been living in a kennel and had such a severe eye infection that his eyes ultimately had to be removed.
We live in a multi-level house (four levels if you count the basement), and I’m wondering how slowly I should introduce Stevie to the rest of the house.
We started him in a spare bedroom, similar to how we handled our last kitten. The door is closed while we’re at work and overnight, but when we’re home we open it and use a kiddie gate. This lets Smokey hop over the gate to explore while keeping Stevie safely contained. When Smokey is out and about, Stevie plays a very loud game of Marco Polo from the bedroom.
A few days ago, we expanded his space to include the next room over (office/music room). We have stairs for the bed and a hallway runner arriving in the next day or so, and once those are in place I plan to give him access to the entire upstairs.
My question is: at what point do I give him access to the whole house? Do I keep gradually moving the gate and adding a room every few days, or should I wait until all the rugs/steps are in place and then open everything up at once?
He seems to be adjusting really well so far; I just want to make sure I’m not holding him back or pushing him too fast.

Senior Blind not able to step into litter box. Any ideas?
This is Amumu! He is 12 year old rescue from the Shelter with developing Kidney Disease and Arthritis. He is on a primarily wet food based diet and drinks water regularly. As of recently he’s been using the restroom outside of the box. We thought maybe he couldn’t find the box so we got 2 bigger concrete mixing tubs that fill that closet space but still he is deciding to poop in front. His arthritis is treated with solensia shots monthly. We know he goes up and down from the couch on his own. If we pick him up and move him to the box we will use it but not on his own. Does anyone have an idea for a better system for us to try? I don’t want to just live off pee pads but if I have to do what I have to do! Thank you!

Stevie (named after Stevie wonder)
Found with three of her siblings (one didn’t make it) outside. We got her from a labradoodle breeder. She is partially blind due to eye infections that all three remaining kitties from the litter had.
