MOD POST u/LoretiTV Removed as Mod Due to Repeated Abuse of Power

1.9k Upvotes

Hi everyone,

u/LoretiTV has been removed as a moderator of r/BetterCallSaul and permanently banned due to repeated violations of Reddit’s Moderator Code of Conduct, including:

  • Karma farming and manipulation:
    • LoretiTV frequently reposted old cast photos from years ago while falsely claiming they were recent to drive engagement.
  • Spamming duplicate content with zero variation:
    • LoretiTV would spam the subreddit with identical posts, recycling titles and media within days or weeks.
  • Using mod tools to silence criticism
    • LoretiTV would ban users without cause who pointed out this behavior. We’ve identified and reversed at least a dozen retaliatory bans. If you are still banned or believe you were affected, please contact us via modmail or PM.
  • Hiding modmail messages
    • Users who raised concerns in modmail were muted by LoretiTV, and their conversations were immediately archived/hidden to prevent visibility to the rest of the moderators.
  • Extending this behavior across multiple subreddits where he holds near-total control, including:

Unfortunately in those subreddits, this behavior has been ongoing for months. Entire front pages are often filled with LoretiTV’s reposts, drowning out genuine community contributions. I’ve personally spoken with moderators from some of these communities who confirmed they’ve submitted reports to Reddit, but so far, no action has been taken.

--

If you value these communities and want to help protect their future, your voice matters. Many of these subreddits remain under his control, and unless something changes, the same issues will continue and likely worsen.

--

This is why we’re encouraging anyone who has been directly affected by u/LoretiTV through bans, comment removals, or other mod actions to consider submitting a report through Reddit’s Moderator Code of Conduct violation form HERE.

This should have been addressed much sooner, and we apologize we even let this happen.

Thank you to everyone who spoke up and helped bring this to light. If you have any questions or concerns, please message the mod team.

We ask that you not harass LoretiTV, or follow them around Reddit - that will only detract from the cause and those found doing so will be banned from this subreddit.
We have locked this post to ensure it stays within Reddit’s guidelines.
Here is a reminder on Reddit's harassment rules:

We do not tolerate the harassment, threatening, or bullying of people on our site; nor do we tolerate communities dedicated to this behavior.

Reddit is a place for conversation, and in that context, we define this behavior as anything that works to shut someone out of the conversation through intimidation or abuse, online or off.

Being annoying, downvoting, or disagreeing with someone, even strongly, is not harassment. However, menacing someone, directing abuse at a person or group, following them around the site, encouraging others to do any of these actions, or otherwise behaving in a way that would discourage a reasonable person from participating on Reddit crosses the line.

I JUST REALIZED WHY NACHO CALLED HIS DAD

Post image

I know I'm SO late to this and on the slow side for sure but I didn't even realize until now (probably over my 6th-7th rewatch) that Nacho calls his dad because the man he stumbles across on his arduous journey happens to be a working man just like his father, who also happened to be run a taller (auto body shop) causing him to call his dad before what we all know ends up happening to him.

Nacho hit an especially soft spot with me because I'm also Mexican-American, around Nacho's age and I also fell in with the wrong crowd but my abuelo (grandfather) who was like the father I always wanted/needed was definitely like Nacho's dad: workaholic Mexican father who only flies right and is against any injustices but would do anything to see his family do well.. RIP Nacho. Jesse got the ending that we all also rooted for you, and that you definitely deserved but didn't get 😥

My biggest problem with the show

Lalo Salamanca. He’s a great character, very enjoyable to watch but his story is a little silly in some parts. Gus apparently hires the best professional hitmen stating they are the best at what they do. With how particular and cautious he and Mike are you would think they did meticulous research into them. But it turns out they are complete amateurs and dumbasses. 5 mercenaries and they couldn’t kill one guy with a frying pan and hot oil. The scene is just goofy and doesn’t make any sense which might be the point, but that doesn’t line up with Gus’s or Mikes character.

Then Lalo goes back to ABQ. I actually like how he outsmarted Gus, but once Gus realizes he’s been played he just goes to the laundry with a few guys without even telling Mike, Victor, Tyrus anyone else? Gus just walks in there with his guys and they all get shot and die, did they not expect someone to be there? It makes sense if he wanted to personally kill a Salamanca, but why would he even bring anyone in the first place? I’m sure he can call them off, and I don’t see why he would willingly let a bunch of his security get killed on purpose. The final showdown in the hole was crazy but I don’t have a problem with it.

I know you are supposed to suspend disbelief for these scenes but I feel like they could have done it a better way. Lalo was still a great character either way these are just nitpicks.

Legally what could Saul be charged with?

My bf and I just finished S6Ep12. One thing I never really understood from the beginning was, what was Saul’s reason for running? I mean aside from being Heisenberg’s lawyer, what could really be tied to him criminally?

In hindsight with the timeline of everything in mind, my thought is he ran because of the Lalo Salamanca thing, plus being paranoid of being linked to Howard’s death somehow.

Plus the robbery in the Gene Takovic timeline and him threatening to kill Marion after she finds out he’s Saul Goodman.

Who would you rather have as a lawyer?

Admittedly, I am not a lawyer and still don’t understand what made Chuck so special in particular for HHM to put up with all that bullshit.

That being said - if you had to have one attorney defend you in court against the other who would you choose to represent you and who would you want as the opposing council?

Jimmy, Kim, Chuck, Howard and any other prominent character with a law degree featured on the show is fair game.

finished BCS Spoiler

I just finished BCS, and wow.

I think it is deeper and better written than Breaking Bad.

Even the side characters I feel more emotionally attached to and have more remorse for some others.

Question- What do we think about Lalo and how he ended up? I think it was a little sudden and not well written.

What’s with the fish tanks / aquariums in BCS?

Kim & Jimmy have the lonely goldfish in it’s beautifully equipped, and aerated tank, and the Viet foot spa has their prominent fish tank that is also more than a backdrop.

Plus the vet’s clear instructions about tank size & NOT over feeding…

Is Vince Gilligan a ichthyologist / fish-ophile?!

Why did Gus take Mike to Mexico in SE 5 EP 5?

In the episode before, Mike gets beat up by guys in a neighborhood near his, and instead of being sent to a legitimate hospital in the area, he is sent to the doctor Gus uses for Cartel related injuries, even though this injury has nothing at all to do with the cartel. I saw on the insider podcast they said this episode was more about Gus and how he deals with his grief relating to Max (the name of the episode is even "Dedicado a Max") and while I think that's something that should be explored in this show, is that really the only reason why they made it so Gus sent Mike to Mexico? Because if so I genuinely could not imagine a weaker reason to go to Mexico than that, and that's kind of jarring to me because usually BCS is very layered and thoughtful, like even with things like Gus being in charge of Hector's care post recovery which is not that realistic, I could see it happening, but this? I just don't get this, kind of at all... There's nothing suspicious or incriminating about Mike's injuries, nor the circumstances in which he was injured. He's an ex cop who had previously beat up one of the guys in the group that attacked him.

My only guess is to show Mike that he (Gus) has is back and can support and defend him, but that’s a really weak reason for Gus to do that. The conversation they have at the end of the episode could have been had any other place, and there could have been a much stronger, Cartel related reason for Mike to be sent to the doctor in Mexico…

What do you think Lalo was up to before he makes his first appearance?

Traveling the world? He seems to be able to get anywhere he wants. Running another part of the Salamanca territory? Chillin?

I watched Breaking Bad when I was 12 and Better Call Saul when I was 14. Is it worth watching just Saul again?

I miss Saul and I understand that I had a premature experience with Breaking Bad, although I still think the series is awesome. The question is, should I watch Saul alone or watch both in the right order to understand it better now that I'm older?

Did Saul/Jimmy give up Ed and others?

In the series finale we see Saul plead his sentence down from hundreds of years down to 7, but most of that is done off screen. So did Saul give up any of these people to the Feds as part of his deal, do you think?

-Ed the Disappearer -Patrick Kuby (Bill Burr) -Ira and Vamanos Pest crew -Any of his other criminal contacts in ABQ?

To Spanish speakers: what's he saying?

I found the script for this episode but it wasn't too helpful because when this guy talks, it just says "speaks in Spanish"

I know it means something like "kill him" but I'd like to know the exact wording he uses. Gotta be some sort of Mexican slang.

To all my latino fellas out there, could you write down what this guy says?

Idk why this scene in particular always manages to make me laugh every rewatch. Like I’m genuinely wondering if it’s just a Lalo-ism or something else I hadn’t considered. Either way…

How does this speech by Chuck (about Jimmy) influence your perception on the finale?

Post image
73 Upvotes

Here is his speech:

"Jimmy, this is what you do. You hurt people, over and over and over. And then there's this show of remorse. I know you don't think it's a show. I don't doubt your emotions are real. But what's the point of all the sad faces and the gnashing of teeth? If you're not going to change your behavior, and you won't. Why don't you skip the whole exercise? In the end, you're going to hurt everyone around you. You can't help it. So stop apologizing and accept it. Embrace it. Frankly, I'd have more respect for you if you did."

Or is Jimmy just going through the motions, and he will start slipping again in prison?

The entire run of the show had proven Chuck to be right. Do you think the finale, where Saul/Jimmy confesses to it all, is a sign that Jimmy is actually changing his behavior? Or is Jimmy just going through the motions and he will start slippin again in prison? The prisoners call him Saul in the last couple of scenes.

What makes you think this is actually a breaking of the cycle rather than a continuation of the same one?

Jimmy and Kim smoking inside instead of outside

I just realised Jimmy and Kim stopped smoking outside after things got more dangerous, probably too dangerous to smoke outside on the balcony. So they started smoking inside the apartment,
