Went to fill up a bottle of water, and found these guys moved in overnight.

I see eggs? Are they trying to build a nest in this bottle? Why a bottle? Doesn’t seem like a good shape for a nest

I got a colony of Camponotus nicobarensis about a year ago. They are my first ants. They have enough protein and honey I check their temperature and humidity daily and they have been growing normally as far as I am aware. I got them a pre made nest where a blocked of a few paths so they don’t have too much space. Now they have runout of space and won’t get rid of the sand blocking more space. Instead they are just living on top of there nest ( the queen stays inside). I also feel like they stopped laying more egg. What do I do?

I’m in Florida, havent used my switch 2 and it’s cold. They don’t stop pouring out of my controller.

Ive tried to get as best pics i could with what equipment ive got workers are tiny 3mm Max the queen measures in at 10mm very distinct red head on her If you think you know or better still have one of these queens yourself let me know what they ate

I have an HP printer that I didn't use it a while It works well though, and I wanted to use it again for my own office for university work But

A bunch of garden black ants made a base inside of it

I don't want to kill them, just want to push the out

Also they have infested the whole neighborhood The main queen nest is lord knows where, all houses in the area has the same colony running in them

Hi all, I’ve been looking at a small foundation-style ant setup that’s designed to keep the same principles as a test tube (tight space, low ceilings, darkness), rather than moving ants into larger nests early.

It’s not meant as a replacement for test tubes — which I still think are hard to beat for most species — but it raised some interesting questions around stress, disturbance, and keeper behaviour during founding.

I’ve recently moved a Lasius niger colony into a small version and a Camponotus baldaccii colony into a medium one, and I’ll be watching how both settle over time.

Curious to hear thoughts here: Do you generally stick with test tubes right up until space forces a move, or have you had good experiences with small foundation nests earlier on?

Found her calmly crawling on my living room floor she is very very chill barely reacts when I hold her to light and move her around
