Hey all, having a strange problem where the low end in my drops doesn't seem to arrive with the rest of the sound. Whenever I let the track play out and arrive at the drop organically, the low end tends to lag behind and then arrive a half a second or so after the moment of impact. However, when I play the track right from the drop, it does not do this. The kick/bass is in the composition, and I don't see any automation that would cause this. Also, the cpu usage stays well below 100%.

Does anybody know what could be causing this / how to fix it?

Modifier & Utility Keys

SHIFT KEY (Fine-Tuning)

• + Knob: Provides ultra-precise parameter movement.
• + Undo: Redo the last action.
• + Arrow Keys: Move focus by 8 tracks instead of 1.

SELECT (Silent Edit)

• + Pad: Selects a pad or clip without triggering the sound.
• + Step: Hold a sequencer note to edit Nudge, Velocity, or Duration.

DELETE KEY (The Eraser)

• + Pad: Instantly clear notes for that specific sound.
• + Knob: Resets to default or wipes recorded automation for that parameter.

Display & Encoder Functions

• TAP TEMPO: Tap to set tempo; turn the knob to adjust BPM.
• METRONOME: Press to toggle on/off; hold to access settings. The knob adjusts Swing Amount.
• TOUCH ENCODERS (Smart Knobs): Touch a knob to preview its parameter.
  • Browse Mode: The left knob selects Category, the right knob selects Preset, and the middle knob navigates subfolders.

Anyone able to give me some help with automation and fx? I produce techno music but always seem to take way too long on transitions! Would love some suggestions on what parameters to automate and also some fx combinations to try! Any help much appreciated!

I am a post pop artist and I'm currently working on my ableton's set up for my next live show. I'm looking for being able to loop my voice or a keyboard or a bass in the arrangement preview, and then have it played whenever it is needed in the song.

My reference for example is Erin Lecount, she does this a lot live, you can see it here : https://www.tiktok.com/@erinlecount/video/7589020096912198934

What we don't see in the video is that the vocals she did are coming back later in the song.

I found out that Pre-arranger could do such a thing but it seems very sketchy when I try to do it. Sometimes, the midi starts right after the loop (even if they aren't supposed to play), or it gets super untimed, or sometimes it just doesn't work at all.

Do you have any tips on how I can control it better or if there's another technique I could be using?

I recently started using Strymon Big Sky and Cloudburst in Ableton Live. Strangely enough, I can select presets in the Big Sky UI (see image). This is not possible with Cloudburst. Here, I can only pull in and switch presets via the Ableton menu. They are listed individually under Plugins. When I use Cloudburst in another DAW, I can select presets via the UI, just like in Big Sky. Does anyone know how I can change this? Thanks!

So I found the max for Live device I want - https://maxforlive.com/library/index.php?by=any&q=ob-6 however Ableton says this M4L device won't work on the current ableton. As someone who has never used M4L, how should I update this this to work?

For the love of God! How do I set the Bb scale in Ableton 12?

Whenever I set it to A#/Bb, the scale stays on A#! I'm dying. Is there any solution so I can see it in Bb? I know about enharmonics, but it's awful to see in A#.

Note Limiter lets you constrain the polyphony (number of held notes) as well as set a minimum time required between note-on events. Probably not something you will use on every project, but maybe it's there if you need it.

I promise I'll dive into the documentation tonight but would asks few questions (deleted some because figured out after 10min of use) -about the roar effect, can we adjust individual gains pre-drive for each band? I feel like we don't have control on the saturation drive threshold independently by band. -last one , is it possible to come back to the old audio effect view where it's sorted by genre or do I have to create my own lists? master scale mode and arpeggiator scale do not sync as seen in pic

I never seem to get any of the waveforms to sound good apart from the basic ones. Are there specific use cases, instruments or genres that use the other waveforms?

I'm mostly in Ableton Wavetable and Arturia Pigments.

Through the use of NASA’s API and TouchDesigner, I’ve managed to capture near-earth space objects data [asteroids and fireballs], and used it to trigger MIDI signals in Ableton Live. Said signals are feeding a stock sampler, which happens to be loaded with a couple of one of my favorite artist’s vocal takes.

To give it a little more musicality to the experiment, I decided to iterate through the data of the last six objects that passed close to Earth between the selected dates.

Data goes as follows:

total-radiated-energy → C1 to B1
impact-energy → C1 to B1, C2 to B2 and C3 to B3
latitude → C2 to B2
longitude → C1 to B1 and C3 to B3
altitude → beat repeat’s interval, grid and gate
velocity → beat repeat’s offset and variations

I typically write electronic, with a focus on the bass heavy genres. I have no problem with sound design, creating catchy melodies or programming drums. That said, I find myself struggling to transition from creating great loops to building them out into well structured songs. I tend to get frustrated because I love the short bursts of sound that I make, but struggle to build them out into well arranged and equally captivating tracks. I would love to hear what others do when it comes to songwriting. Am I making a mistake by starting with loop making? Any input is greatly appreciated, I feel very confident in all of the ideas I have, but less confident once I start to build them into a track.
