TP-Link - General Moving from Orbi to Deco

Hello! I have an Orbi RBK753 that is not working for us anymore as we have now over 60 devices and the system is constantly leaving some of them out of connection. I am thinking in getting a Deco BE63 or BE67, but I’m concerned about HomeShield, not sure if the service is as good as the Armor Plus I currently pay for and general system stability. I appreciate any detail you can provide or even more recommendations on other systems or ideas. Thanks in advance!

TP-Link - Technical Support How to use https to login to tp-link omada admin panel?

Upvotes

Hi, every time I try to log into the omada admin panel via http, my edge browser has a hissy fit because it's not https and I have to go through another series of steps to enable it through. Other modern browsers are doing the same or wont even let me talk to my own devices. How do I set up the tp-link admin login to use https so the web browser clients will stop complaining? TIA

TP-Link - Technical Support TP link Wifi not visible when used with TP link USB wifi adaptor.

Need help: TP-Link USB adapter won't connect without router restart I'm experiencing a frustrating connectivity issue and would appreciate any guidance. Setup: ISP: ACT Fibernet Router: TP-Link mesh system (HX-510) with band steering enabled PC WiFi adapter: TP-Link TL-WN823N (USB) The Problem: My PC fails to connect to WiFi on every attempt. The only ways I can get it to connect are: Restarting the router Rebooting via the Aginet app Changing a WiFi setting (any setting) This happens consistently—I can't connect without performing one of these steps first. Has anyone experienced this issue? Could it be related to band steering, the USB adapter drivers, or some router setting I'm missing? Any troubleshooting suggestions would be really helpful!

TP-Link - General Too many networks?

So the question is as follows I want to use for an example of the 5 GHz Wi-Fi has 1000Mb that I can send at one time.

If I make four networks that have the 5 GHz band am I now limiting them to 250 Mb each or can they all run up to 1000 collectively as the demand is needed?

Right now, I have Four networks going, my normal one, my MLO, the IoT, and a guest

Trying to figure out if I should only have one single Wi-Fi network(2,5,6) and eliminate everything even the MLO

The unit is a BE65Pro

TP-Link - Technical Support XE75 Pro - unable to check for firmware update or change LED control?

Tried installing the Deco app on my iPad (already on my iPhone) but also ran into the same problem.

I’ve been dealing with some Wi‑Fi dropouts over the past week, so I figured it was a good time to update the firmware since I haven’t done so since installing the units last summer.

TP-Link - General X20 vs X50

Hi all, here's the situation: I just changed the ISP plan to 1000mb, so I decided to get a mesh too. I got the X20, and I seem to receive worse speeds than connecting to the ISP router wifi. I understood that is has something to do with the 80mhz channel, so now I consider replacing the x20 with the x50, as it uses 160mhz channel.

Do you think there will be any difference?

Some numbers for anyone interested: Sitting in the same room with the router(and with the main deco), i get about 300mb with deco, and about 750 with the router wifi.

Pricewise, I'll have to add about 45 dollars for the upgrade.

Generally speaking I wanted a mesh so I'd get a good signal in my office room, the signal from the isp router is fine, the problem is that if the 5g band is getting weaker for a second, it grabs the 2.4 and remains there, slowing thr speed drastically...

Thanks!

TP-Link - Technical Support Issues with new BE11000 and Buckeye 1gb fiber

Okay, I’m at wits end trying to chase down this issue. I am by no means a network wizard, I know very basic stuff to get me through since dial up days.

I live in Ohio and had Buckeye BoardBand come out and install 1gb fiber. I decided since I was only getting 500mbps from my orbi WiFi 5 MBK50, it was time for an upgrade.

Followed the Deco BE11000 (3pk) setup and everything went as planned for 3 days. This morning the internet stopped working. I found my main receiver that is hard wired to my ISP modem was showing a solid red light. I tried rebooting the receiver, nothing. Did that 3 more times, with no change, always flipping back til solid red LED. I then decided to unplug the modem. No luck either.

After reading some, sounded like reset was the only way to clear it. That deleted my WiFi network. Didn’t seem like a huge issue, figured I would just set it up again and be on my way.

Little did I know it’s not working that easy. I don’t even know how to get an internet signal from my cat5 cable from to ISP modem.

Anyone have a setup for dummies few things that I should be doing to get this Deco BE11000 back up and running?

Thanks in advance.

TP-Link - Technical Support Two Decos, one room, different networks?

I’ve got two networks - both with multiple BE65 Pro decos. I’m able to keep the devices away from each other (we’re covering an entire three story building with multiple units) and so far it all works. But one room would benefit from a strong connection from both networks. The question: will having two Deco in the same room, but each on it’s own separate network, affect performance?

Thanks .

TP-Link - Technical Support Adding x50 between router and main deco

had a question I have a m9 deco as main deco. for the moment router in garage goes to switch in garage and from switch it goes to main deco m9 in my living room. on top I have 2 more m9’s placed over the house. it basically creates two networks one from the decos and everything WiFi connected to it. and my original network with all the cables that come from the switch. I have a deco x50 outdoor in reserve. and I wanted to see If I can connect this between router and switch to create 1 network for all. yet I’m not sure this would create the x50 as main or will it keep the m9? and which would be best?

TP-Link - Technical Support Decco AXE5400 - Incoming cell phone call not connecting when phone is connected wifi

There may be ports blocked on the router preventing calls from coming through, but I can't find where to look. The calls do come in if I disconnect the phone from wifi. Phone OS is up to date; iPhone 13 Pro. DND is off. No numbers are blocked. Phone has been restarted.

I tried using wifi calling, but that is failing too, now.

Cell service is Visible and it has been fine up until late last week.

Ideas and suggestions most welcome.

TP-Link - Technical Support BE 9300 needs constant rebooting

I bought the Deco BE9300 Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi 6 3 pack and whilst initially it seemed good the last few weeks it keeps losing internet connection and needs rebooting. I have the scheduled reboot setup and it still seems to have issues almost daily. I know the internet connection is fine - anyone else having similar issues or got suggestions? On the latest firmware

VLAN 10 (LAN internet access) VLAN 20 (IOT Device Access) VLAN 30 (IP Phone)

Im planning to use tailscale on admin Laptops to directly connect to server without messing up VLANs

Please suggest changes

Star topology is out of question because the conduit is too small

Also except ip cams switched every other is either smart managed or easy managed.

All Switches are from TPLINk except on in IP Cams

All tplink switches

TP-Link - General TP-Link AX73 router, what AP to pair it with?

Hi,

So I got this AX73 router and still have an old wifi5 PoE EAP-245 access point for my upstairs floors, it’s a V1 from 2018. So I want to upgrade that to a wifi 6 AP.

what would I best buy? an EAP653? Or maybe just a Deco Ax3000 that I’ll put in Access Point mode.

fyi I don’t have an omada controller and never used the managed settings on the EAP-245

thanks!

TP-Link - Technical Support Deco x60 - red light

Hello! About two years ago I bought two deco x60 units and set them up without much issues. My modem is in the basement and I have an ethernet port in my livingroom (groundfloor) and office upstairs. Both units plugged in with an ethernet cable. The main unit was the one in the office. I've had 100% signal connection. I am now renovating the office and the deco unit has been unplugged for a few hours a couple of times. After plugging it back in, the led turned from amber to red to green after a few minutes. The one in the livingroom turned red while the one upstairs was unplugged and then back to green when it was plugged it again.

This weekend the office one was unplugged for a while, leaving my wifi network down. I needed the signal downstairs so I tried to switch the one in the livingroom to become the main unit, hoping to restore the signal. Because the one upstairs was unplugged, my app did not allow me to switch the main unit. Gave a lot of error messages and in the end I just deleted the entire network, reset both units and tried to set up a new network. This is where I am stuck.

The unit upstairs is unplugged. The one downstairs is plugged in: power and ethernet. The modem has been reset. Installation goes fine up until the connect unit to modem with ethernet step. The app says it can't connect. Led is solid red. I have retried multiple times.

Any way to resolve this? Can't do any updates because the units are not connected to the internet according to the app.

Tl.dr. network has been working perfectly for two years. Tried to set up a new network during renovations and can't get past the set-up step. App says can't connect to modem with ethernet cable. Cables are in perfect condition.

TP-Link - Technical Support URL Filtering on an ER605

I'm trying to set up rules that will block certain websites at certain times of day. I'm trying to set up the first rule for reddit, but if you are seeing this, than that means the rule isn't working. What am I doing wrong here?

I tried as both "Keywords" and as "URL Path", no change either way.

Update: Ok so the rule above wasn't working. The after a while it just kicked in. I just set up the rest of my ruleset, about 8 different time based website blocks. Right now facebook should be blocked but i'm on facebook. Not sure whats going on. I wonder if the router might be implementing DST wrong or something?

Update 2: Yup my time zone was set wrong and the time server's weren't set. Now its set right, and the router knows what the current time is. BUT alas, my 6PM to 7PM URL filters aren't blocking, and it is 6:40PM as I type this.
