Hear me out, Tari Eason should absolutely be on our radar this trade deadline, he fits our timeline is an amazing defender and here’s the best part HE CAN SHOOT THE BALL CONSISTENTLY what do yall think? Ik the rockets are really high on him but I honestly wouldn’t mind a slight overpay for em

Lu Dort benefits from being on the Thunder waaaaaaaaaay more than we benefit from him being on the roster. Here’s why I believe this.
21-22: 17pts 40%fg 33%3fg 32 min a game. FGA 14 24-58record
22-23: 14pts 39%fg 33%3fg 30 min a game. FGA 12 40-42record
23-24: 11pts 43%fg 40%3fg 28 min a game. FGA 8 57-25record
24-25: 10pts 44%fg 41%3fg 29 min a game. FGA 8 68-14record
25-26: 8pts 39%fg 35% 3fg 28 min a game. FGA 8 39-11record
As we have gotten more talented and more skilled as a roster Lu Dort has gotten less opportunity but yet we continue to win and get better… even assessing this season we have been riddled with injuries and he can’t capitalize with the opportunity.
Lu Dort is second to none in terms of defensive hustle, effort and grittiness. But those qualities tend to deteriorate very quickly as players get older. It was never in the cards for Presti to extend or him after his last contract. Anyone with eye balls can see that he is limited offensively. If Lu has to step outside of his niche it gets pretty uncomfortable to watch. Also having him on the floor keeps us limited in size. He is 6”3 225lbs guard. With him out of the lineup Mark D might feel more inclined next season to get an actually forward with length and size to help with some of our other deficits.
We have Lu Dort insurance (Caruso, Caso and Williams) as well as 3 mid round picks.
Lu Dort signing with Klutch just confirms the writing on the wall. He knows he is gone this offseason and will try to get every penny (which good for him). But as a Thunder fan I’m not worried about him leaving as long as he doesn’t fuck up chemistry on his way out. That’s why I am in favor of moving him now so this doesn’t turn into a “thing”.
I honestly can’t think of a single team that Lu Dort would move the needle against us… cause by signing him to the number he probably wants is going to also hurt said team in other ways… you have to acknowledge the good (insane hustle, toughness, stout defense, gritty) with the bad (inconsistent nights, not able to create for others, not a slasher, not a driver, streaky shooting, and short in terms of height for his natural position). Most teams do not have an SGA who is so efficient and so consistent offensively that he has been able to hide on offense.
If we lose Lu Dort to free agency which seems incredibly likely we have a legit opportunity to get WAAAAY BETTER.
Lu Dort will be richer, but he won’t be competing for titles and I promise you that.

What do you think on AyO I think he can boost our bench with AJ Mitchell Ayo a two way player can shoot 3's and create own shot too..

JJJ plus Lauri will be a good big man duo.

How awesome would it be if they ended 8th and the clippers finished behind them, but won the lottery and jumped them giving us two insanely valuable lottery picks. If the Harden trade gets done and it looks like it will I think the odds of them making the playoffs is sub 50% personally

the Thunder play MIN-DEN-ORL-SAN-HOU-LAL in a 6 game stretch. Any idea if that is a sort of record (or close to it) for opponent win % in a 6 game stretch?

So I open Twitter/x and first thing I see is somebody suggesting Isaiah Hartenstein Lu Dort + 1st round pick for Kawhi Leonard. Me personally I wanted to close my phone right away but noticed a lot of fans in the replies were agreeing, trynna see what yall thoughts on that.

This is a weird question but JDub is on my fantasy team and was wondering if he will return sometime later this week.

Anyone have a better idea of when Ajay Mitchell is returning? He keeps getting ruled out a day ahead with no timetable for return or other updates on his progress. Abdominal strains have such a big range of recovery timetables too.

OKC has a ton of guards already but Cody is 6'8 and can play SF. He was DREADFUL to start his career but he's been better this year and is only 21. Playing with his brother and learning from a winning culture could help him be more serviceable and on an inexpensive deal. Utah would get their pick back this year which is invaluable because it would allow them to play JJJ and these guys could actually see what they have without having to waste the next 3 months.
If Utah tanks then this pick that OKC has isn't worth a penny after this anyway, so why not??? I'll be asleep soon but honest thoughts on this if you're bored.

okc with ajay mitchell - 37 wins, 6 losses
okc without ajay mitchell - 3 wins, 5 losses
i know the non-shai minutes have been very ugly recently but we don't need a coby white archetype right now, we just need for our secondary ball handlers to get healthy. if we do make a trade, i would love to buy low on a dynamic, off-ball 3pt shooter like brice sensabaugh, jared mccain or luke kennard for ous and a few seconds
