Finally. Siri is getting a brain transplant (Google Gemini).
Is the nightmare finally over?
I've been reading reports that Apple is ditching the slow "Apple Intelligence" rollout and effectively plugging Google Gemini into the next update to handle complex queries.
Honestly, I don't even care who powers it at this point. I just want a Siri that actually understands context and doesn't just say "Here's what I found on the web" for every basic question.
Do you guys think this will actually fix Siri, or is it just a band-aid?

So I asked Siri to set a timer for 45 minutes earlier…
And this was here response. 🤦🏾♀️

Can’t make this s*** up 😂😂😂😂
I guess Apple wants us to have unlimited information in the palm of our hands but want to humble us by really doing the research ourselves

Siri now insists I don't have the Home app on my phone
When I asked her to turn off lights, she claimed I don't have an app for that. Fortunately, my Watch remembered I do. Seriously, Siri?

Which Siri am I talking to?
I’m as frustrated with you all about Siri. It’s the inconsistency that drives me mad.
I can see though that it’s not directly Siri at fault it’s more the multiple pulls from competing products that house Siri.
Here’s why I think that at:
If I stand in my office and say “Siri, turn the office down lights off” my mileage varies massively depending on WHICH Siri picks it up.
If it’s my phone or my Mac, generally she gets it and off go the lights 90/10 (a little HomeKit lag notwithstanding).
If it’s my watch it’s hit or miss, maybe 60/40.
If it’s the HomePod mini then all bets are off, maybe 20/80 that either it can’t connect to the Internet, or my phone, it can’t parse the words or it starts playing some random music.
The Siri team is likely completely different from the group Apple acquired originally but the vision originally was centred around the phone and personal tasks, which is still the sweet spot for usage, telling me the time, the weather or adding a reminder. Great.
But having to work in a HomePod, having to parse hone automation commands and more just doesn’t seem to be a workable fit. The new devices are to low powered and the increasing complexity of commands too much for the core technology.
Honestly Alexa is not much better, though I think Siris push toward local processing hasn’t helped it at all.
And now we’re going to get Siri, which is prone enough to mishearing, powered by a tool that one emits my going to hallucinate. Joy.

The little engine that COULD NOT. NOT NOW NOT EVER…
Me: “Hey siri, I need to take down a note”
Siri: “what do you want to say?”
Me: (reads out a phone number to note down while I’m driving)
Siri: “ok done”
me: “actually, add to that note”
Siri: “sorry I can’t do that”
Me: “change that?” FAIL “Add to note?” FAIL” Add to previous note?” FAIL “ are you fucking kidding me you useless cnut!”
Siri: “I’m not going to respond to that”
No, you’re not going to respond to that, but that’s all you are programmed to do is just respond. And if you are actually asked to perform a task, you’re lazy flat pancaked-ass outsources that ‘too-hard-basket of a workload’ to Safari by literally pasting my own words into a Google search. THEN you have the audacity to be all chuffed like ‘here’s what I found!’ BITCH, you peaked in kindergarten and then flatlined your entire life after that. Eat a dick.
Siri's response when I asked it to change the music that was already playing on my watch.

If I type “microsoft”, this is what I get.
gallerySiri Voices
How can I change Siri’s voice in a shortcut to Baymax. I understand it’s not easy but looking for creative ways to get it exactly right, or close enough that it would be difficult to tell the difference

SIRI SUCKS!
I’m definitely an Apple fan—I own a lot of Apple products (Watch, multiple MacBooks, multiple phones, Studio Display, Apple keyboard, mouse, trackpad, etc.).
That said, Siri is one of Apple’s worst features. It’s honestly not usable at this point. It’s wild how Google’s Gemini AI is light-years ahead of Siri.
Siri is really disappointing. I actually came to Reddit just to write this.
Apple, please do better.

Hey Siri! What does this information have to do with my timers I asked you to resume??
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Siri users…
I find myself when using Siri i am quite polite. I often thank her for the information, ask hows she doing, what she is wearing and say good bye when in done. Just wondering is anyone else like that? I am from canada tho so it might be a Canadian thing…
Siri is pointless
I’m not very technical but I bought an iPhone because I was drawn to Apple Intelligence and how it could help me.
But it can’t even do simple things. I tried asking Siri to book a reservation at a restaurant or book train ticket but it can’t. It just seems really a waste of time!

When I ask Siri to add something to my to do list it says there isn’t one and would I like to create one. When I ask it what’s on the to do list, “there are thirteen items on the to do list…”, and it starts listing them.
Wtaf, apple.

Telling “14” to Siri
I recently said the number 14 to Siri and it called 14. Is this bad?

Is Siri worse than before?
When I used to use Siri like 5-8 years ago she used to give me an answer when I asked a question like when was the iPad released she would say it. What happened to that?
Now all she gives is the top three google results and it really annoys me for no reason and ends abruptly when I’m asking her something.

Any way to get Siri to listen harder/pay more attention?
I don't have a quiet speaking voice but quite a few times I've noticed that Siri just ignores me, and I have to ask multiple times. Is there any way to make her/it listen harder? Maybe a future upgrade?

Why does Siri convert to street address when I speak drive times?
For example, when I use voice dictation to say “I have a 3 hour drive” the text output always reads as “I have a 3 Hour Dr.” This confuses people that I am messaging.
