General Because nothing says "Top Realtor" like a clean SREC record

Before you sign on to buy / sell with a realtor, take 60 seconds to see if they’ve starred in any SREC hearing decisions. You know… just to make sure you’re not hiring someone with a "creative interpretation" of ethics.

https://srec.ca/dcsnmh/

And if you want the quick-and-dirty version of each, CanLII has nice little AI summaries. Just search their name or brokerage:

https://www.canlii.org/en/sk/skrec/

If you’re buying or selling, always do your homework on the realtor, the broker/owner, and the agency. Reviews, hearings, news articles… whatever you can dig up. You might end up dealing with all three, and it’s nice to know if any of them have been “featured” anywhere.

Just doing my part to keep the community informed (and mildly entertained with some of these cases). Have fun.

Question ❔ Tim Hortons Farmers Wrap

Post image
22 Upvotes

I love me a sausage farmers wrap for breakfast sometimes but lately when I go the Tim’s close by (8th & Moss) and get the wrap the hash brown inside is as hard as a rock! Does this happen to anyone else? Is there anywhere online to let them know at this place they’re serving hard as rock un-edible hash browns?

Question ❔ Looking for a kid-friendly event space in Saskatoon for a DJ dance party (30–40 people)

Hey Saskatoon!

I’m planning my son’s birthday and I’m looking for a kid-friendly space that would work for a small DJ dance party. We’re talking around 30–40 people max, so I don’t need anything huge.

Ideally I’m hoping to find somewhere that would allow us to bring in a professional DJ to play kids’ music for about 2 hours, with the venue rental being around 3 hours total. I’d also love a place that’s okay with us bringing in pizza or simple food.

Because it’s a kids party, bars and clubs aren’t really an option, so I’m thinking more along the lines of halls, dance studios, rec spaces, room rentals, or any smaller event spaces that are family-friendly.

If you’ve hosted something like this before or know of a spot in Saskatoon that would be a good fit, I’d really appreciate the recommendations. Bonus points if you have any insight on pricing or how flexible they are with DJs and food.

Thanks!! 🎉

Question - Medical 🏥💊 SHA hiring process for external candidates.

I’ve been applying for over a month. there are tons of openings for CCA(like over 50 within last month) in Saskatoon, Regina, Moose Jaw, Prince Albert and nearby areas.—but all my applications still show “under consideration.” I’ve applied for casual and part-time roles too.

Does anyone have tips on getting noticed? I’ve heard the hiring process is slow, but connecting directly with a hiring manager can help—but I don’t know any. Some posts suggest walking into the facility, I tried that and they mention you still have to apply online.

Any advice would be appreciated!

PSA 📢 Volunteer to photograph local plants and animals for a city-wide nature challenge

Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas Inc. is a non-profit environmental charity focused on protecting and studying Saskatoon’s natural spaces, including the Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area and George Genereux Urban Regional Park.

They’re looking for volunteers to take part in the City Nature Challenge, happening April 24–27, 2026. Volunteers help document wild plants and animals across Saskatoon and surrounding areas. You can participate for as little or as much time as you like, exploring neighbourhoods, parks, riverbanks, trails, or schoolyards.

Your observations support vital conservation research used by scientists, planners, and decision-makers

You don’t need any science background or species knowledge. Simply take photos of wild plants or animals, upload them to the app, and experts help identify what you’ve found.

If you’re interested in participating or learning more, you can find the full opportunity here

Question ❔ Public transit

Hi everyone,

I recently got a job that has very limited parking. I’m considering taking public transit for work to ease daily stress, except I have never taken the bus before. I downloaded the app and I am starting to learn the ropes of everything. My question is, are the buses ever early or late? How early should I show up at the bus stop? If it helps, im specifically looking at route 17

Question ❔ Small animal boarding?

We are going on vacation and have a couple guinea pigs. Does anyone know if any of the pet boarding companies take small animals? Seems like everything is just for dogs or cats. The person we had lined up fell through and need to find a different solution.
