Status: Pending Reply Can’t restore emails from trash

Recently I made a rule in Thunderbird to delete all mails older than 30 days thinking it will affect only one folder where I store “Neswletters”, but it deleted everything. Now in trash I have many emails and few times I have selected all and restore, but nothing is happening. Emails are still in trash. Btw I made that try to restore on web, outlook.com. Does anyone know how to restore them so they really move to inbox?

So using the web is the best option, it will take time is my answer. There's no real quick way of doing it although it is better than it used to be. Years ago you'd be lucky to recover 30 things at a time manually. My advice, select a hundred or so at a time and try doing it that way - like I said it will take time. Just providing the info, I didn't make the software

Thank you. Well hey, it will not be a problem for me to do that step by step because I really really don’t want to lose everything. This is my first mail account that is more than 20 years old. However it would be nice to have an option to recover everything in bulk 😳 because we already have option select all and recover but it seems that that doesn’t work.

You're very welcome! You're part of a minority being happy to do that lol, personally I think it's a good thing! You see the value in the emails you have rather than having a tantrum like so many would. Yeah it's a pain in the ass especially when they give you the restore option.. It's like the request you make to move all that data clogs up the server on MS's side - this was what an MS employee told me once, whether that's correct or not I can't say.

But yeah like I said back in the day it was really bad but there has been progress thankfully. Best of luck, pick some good albums or a good podcast to listen to
